@@shiny_crystal hi, basically, radio and video are different mediums of entertainment like books etc are too But "medium" and "bloody rare" are different ways of cooking meat. And Vox showed dead deer - alastor is a deer demon
direct meaning: he's old news, no one uses radio anymore haha silly: dead deer medium and rare haha cooking analytical meaning: medium to rare means he's getting overdone, he's overdue and it's Vox's era top tier line
Tbh Vox’s design, personality, abilities, and role in the overall story were interesting to me and fun to watch. He is the type of villain that tries to give off the “Manipulative, I’m always in control” vibes while at the same time being a pathetic, rage-fueled hypocritical baby when put on the spot (like whenever Alastor is concerned). And I just love the dichotomy of the whole thing 😂 Really excited to see how season 2 explores his character. Especially his past with Alastor seeing as he had a photo of him so maybe they used to get along 👀
I'm pretty sure that Vox is one of those villains you love but not because they have even the slightest chance at redemption, but because they're entertaining af.
I agree but at the same time question what they will do with that in the greater context of the show... are some people actually irredeemable in a show where the whole premise is redemption? What is "too evil" to be redeemed and who gets to determine that? We knew nothing of Pentious' crimes before his death (ie. what landed him in hell) and only that he would frequently craft hostile weaponry in search of power and bring harm to others... yet he has been successfully redeemed. I think you can totally have people who don't want to change, but at the same time would it be hypocritical of Charlie's mission to not at least offer people like Vox, Velvet, and yes, even Valentino, a chance at redemption? She finds good in Alastor helping her cause even though he is an unrepentant cannibal murderer who enslaves souls. So why would the Vees be different? Again, not to say I disagree (and I love Vox, he's top character for me) but what does it say about the theme of the show if the goal isn't at least trying to redeem or argue for the redemption of the "worst of the worst"? Just think these questions are really interesting right now and I really hope the show looks into them without glossing them over.
One thing I love about Vox is his incredible power set. He's not one of those shonen power scaling big math moon buster types (although if you really want to go there his temper tantrum did cause a near citywide blackout.) His powers are thematic, versatile, and has great utility and implications. Mind control is already a great and terrifying power, but the fact that he can project it through the any screen, gives him incredible range. And it's used in a really interesting allegorical way, he probably wouldn't need literal mind control the way he can control media and project himself across multiple video channels simultaneously. And the fact that he can transform into electricity and travel through camera's and screens is also really underrated, especially considering how extensive his camera network is. These are the kinds of powers I like, the tactile creative use powers.
Su poder va más allá de viajar entre pantallas, aquí (6:02) se ve cómo aún sin conectarse a ningún dispositivo puede moverse. Vox está subestimado, él realmente es muy poderoso.
I don’t think vox can go into just any screen nor did his rage cause a blackout. I’m pretty sure he’s just spread his influence so far that all technology is now vox branded, allowing him to do all he did
So good news about the Vees is that in a recent interview Vivziepop stated that they will play a major role in season 2 and that the season centers around them as the main antagonists but specifically Vox and that we will get more details about his past and relationship with Alastor and how Vox as the main antagonist of season 2 will effect Alastor and the other residents of the Hazbin Hotel

I like to think Alastor didnt originally hate technology past his era. I think Vox and Alastor had such a messy fall out that he despises anything related to Vox, making him hate modern tech.
Vox died after Alastor so I like to think there was maybe a mentorship thing going on (perhaps related to Vox's unique powers)... like maybe Alastor helped Vox out (who would have been quite familiar with radio, growing up with it) in exchange for something but after a while, Vox wanted to keep modernizing whereas Alastor didn't which caused their falling out.
Frankly I think he’s worse than all three the vs combined 😭 but not more powerful(it’s foolish to team against a group of ppl and I think that’s why he only pokes fun at vox and not the other two)
I wonder if he and Al were friends at one point and now he has some kind of mix of hatred and trauma. (If you look closely at the picture of Alastor that they throw a knife at in the finale, you can see a cut out Vox next to him)
Literally would not surprise me if part of Vox's hate-on for Alastor would be he was hoping to become more than business partners, but Alastor's aro-ace and rejected his advances AND the potential business deal.
i think vox had/has a crush/love for alastor that turned into obsession and due to him feeling betrayed he wants to destroy alastor. he is obsessed with alastor and alasor doesn't care. i like to think they used to be friends and vox tried to get them to team up and maybe even confessed to alastor which pushed alastor away and the fight happened
Another thing i've noticed about his voice is that, he's audibly more muffled whenever he isn't facing the camera (or, our screen) I think that's a pretty cool detail lol
There is a theory that Vox and Alastor used to be friends because when Vox and Valentino were singing there part of the last song you can see what looks like some of Vox's suit and a picture of Alastor in his pilot suit. Meaning Alastor used to allow people to take his picture and maybe record him. That and him calling Vox old pall in episode 2 hints that they used to be friends but after a fall out they are bitter rivals. My money is the Vox went with the times, but Alastor being more old fashion and thinking the time period he died in was the best time period in whole human history. Vox tried to convince Alastor to join the team he made with Valentino (and later Velvet) and to also like him become more moderne, but Alastor being Alastor refused the what Vox offered and thay had that big fight what let Alastor disappearance of 7 years and Vox almost losing
I’m glad you pointed out vox’s hypnosis ability, when I first saw that, I immediately knew vox was the type of business man to be a fad, especially the words “trust us” you can tell he’s not the kind of guy who delivers his promises
I believe it's word of god from Vivziepop the Vs are not in a relationship, and are all equal. Velvette is not a daughter-esque character to either Valantino or Vox. Their partnership is strategic and while they fight, they do not conspire against one another. They genuinely believe their partnership is beneficial.
Remember when velvette said she was the backbone of the vees? She's definently not thinking she's in charge. Valentino is too stupid to be a leader. There's a reason why vox has to keep him at bay
Videos like these are so helpful. I'm working on doing audio descriptions for this show for my blind friend so details like the picture with Vox's old timey tv head is great lore. Being visually impaired myself, it's easy to miss that stuff.
i mean you CANT imagine how i love this guy. his design blowing me up everytime, my mind in pure joy of this colors i swear. his personality omg i love characters with no self control, i mean he trying to make everything in his control but when he finds out that ALASTOR has returned, his roof is blown off LITERALLY LMAO. his POWERS OMG THIS IS BRILLIANT i LOVE this concept abt some electric things a just cant handle it HOW MUCH i love vox
@@AdaminTranzit they did make it for others to use. i was just saying that val doesnt need to use it because he just uses the pheromone he produces which is probably more potent anyway
Honestly I thought it was obvious that Vox had to be the worse because he is the medium that help spreads everything through tech. Sure Val and Vel have content but Vox can reach everyone faster with his tech. Not to mention they basically go to him to settle things with each other so he is the boss. Only thing is we just haven't seen him do anything yet but S2 will hopefully expand on what Vox is capable of and willing to do cause the V's are planning on taking advantage of the failed extermination and Charlies hotel in some way.
Vox actually DID have a big-box television in his older design, and knowing his interest in the advancement of tech and media, I wouldn’t be surprised if he did change his own head.
I think that alastor may have started hating new technology because of Vox, as before he just didn't care about newer things existing, as long as it didn't threaten his power
I forget where i saw it, but someone pointed out that at some point in the background in the V's palace/building, there's a picture of Val and Vox where Vox has a much bigger, boxier head reminiscent of those early 2000's TV's. So Vox has the ability to upgrade his own head
Note for one thing in this video. Sinner's can't die unless attacked and killed by angelic power/weapons. So when Vox told Val that he's going to call the "lowest owners this month", he's not letting Val kill them. Well, he is, but it's more akin to torture as after they're killed, they will slowly re-assemble and revive themselves again. This was also stated in the same episode (episode 2) when Velvette literally states how she can't wait for the model that Val previously ripped apart to "put herself back together" and that she has to find a new model for her show.
Vox has a lot of different layers to his villainy including his business, his hypnotic powers, his obsession with progress, and his rivalry with Alastor and I'd love to see how they develop over next season (and beyond; knock on wood). Valentino, I'd just like to see him get a Mortal Kombat fatality. Big difference between the two. Vox, you love to hate. Valentino, you just hate.
The Vs were setting up an offensive plan against the Angels but I'm pretty sure this was lost due to the lack of episodes. I suppose the idea was to let the two parties destroy each other and then if Charlie failed, they could swoop in and finish Adam's forces off while taking the credit of not only winning the day but avenging Lucifers daughter (For their own personal gain of course).
I always felt like they didn't really plan to fight the Angels to begin with and only wanted to rally the other Overlords to do it in the hopes of getting them killed.
Vox is my favorite character in the series, and i genuinely really hope we see more of what *he* can do. Not his influence, not his alliance, and not what people say he can do. I want to see what this man - someone who at the very least is able to content with Alastor in a battle - can do. His abilities intrigue me and I would love to know just what he's capable of.
One Vox TV effect you missed is any time his back is turned towards the audience his voice is muffled because his TV speakers project his voice forward. Also if you ever want to see what Val and Vox's relationship was originally planned to be like I highly suggest the comic Bad liars dubbed by Paranoid Dj as well as the Valentino fan animatic. It cemented Vox as my favorite character logo before the show came out.
I have a theory for Vox and his life on Earth When the TV first came out in the 1950s, Vox instantly started to capitalise on it turning his business into a TV salesman and host. Behind the camera, he was a cult leader who (using his knowledge on TV technology) used his products to hypnotize people into joining his cult in order to fill his need of being appreciated and remain on top of the pyramid. His reign came to an end when former cult members ratted him out to the police and during a small fight between Vox and his cult and the police, Vox gets pushed into a shelf by a police officer where one of his TVs dropped on his head and crushed him (which would explain why his head is a literal TV)
Lets imagine this: Vox gets to Hell and rises to power, but immediately finds out that instead of trying to make deals for people's souls or forcefully take them, he can influence them instead. For this reason, he starts a company in Hell with the sole purpose of creating technology and power for Pentagram City, when in reality he's using these two for the sake of controlling the place. Soon after, he realizes that he can't do this alone, and seeks out help from fellow Overlords; he eventually makes contact with Velvette and asks her to help with this project to control Pride, and with her social genius she can host any event that she wants, create any dress, etc. After this, they both find the help of Valentino and ask him to join their group for the extra money and muscle from his criminal ties. Over the years, they manage to accomplish their goals, one step at a time. They V's act in more ways then one would think, and it directly correlates to their positions. Vox as the CEO, de facto leader of the three, and as a business man is more of a lawful evil. Velvette as the head of marketing and production is more of a neutral evil. Valentino as the head of security and most corrupt one is more chaotic evil. For this reason, Vox serves as the middle man for both of the other V's, due to his position and as leader, plus due to him having to be the one who has to deal with any messes the two get into with each other, one example being in episode 2.
I want to point out that when Vox told his assistant about the Angelic Security I’m guessing he had an idea that Angelic Weaponry might do something against the Exorcists because he said to call Carmilla
i actually love all the vees, they are all shitty yet the idea that they all care about eachother despite constantly pissing everyone off it’s sorta wholesome

4:22 Hey, his screen has a tangibility quirk. He can eat food or French Val when he wants and return to a solid surface. Very interesting and useful stuff.
As for outside the Pride Ring, it’s possible Vox has tech there as we seen other demons in Helluva Boss use the VPhones and Vox’s apps. Also the Lust Ring had ads for Angel’s shows meaning his work is known there(which would mean Val’s adult films are known)
I have a head-canon for Vox: He doesn't like lying or anything related to this. He may be evil or rude, but he never lies about anything, he just tells the truth in "proper" form
Vox became my favorite character, design alone in the pilot. And how he was in the finale about him was flawless. I just wish we get more screentime of my love.

I kind of really like Vox in a sense that hes designed as a TV character and that he is very powerful in the concept of media for all of sinners to be attracted to. I also like the rivalry between him and Alastor. Alastor is one of my favorite characters tbh. Though, I just hope I get to see more of them on screen in the next seasons to come. The designs and character acting is just amazing.
I really like these characters deep dives where you read between the lines and actually grow the perception of the character to the audience, I’ve been annoyed by all the other RUclipsrs who are just trying to stay on the hazbin hype train by just doing “did you nice this?” Type videos. They are just pointing out what’s already there and not adding to it like what you are doing here
To put in a good word for Vox, when he announced Angelic Security, he did schedule a meeting with Carmilla Carmine so however that product turned out in the end, it probably does have some kind of quality.
Sure vox might be horrible but let's get one thing clear All the three v's are terrible Vox alone can definitely be a major villain but a nuisance at alastor best Valentino is a good for nothing rat who deserves to lose his status wealth and business with angel forever And velvet pretty sure she's a real piece of work that needs a reality check
Vox is not just a "nuisance" for Alastor. He beat him in the past and currently has much more influence than Al. His shortcoming is his bad temper. He lets Alastor get under his skin, so he seems less threatening.
@@that_icy_stylish_bitch Tbh, I'm so happy that they didn't make alastor just this overpowered too cool for everything kind of guy in the proper show, but made him powerful yet grounded inside Hells hierachy, him seemingly being nowadays more established and on friendly terms with the other Overlords after his initial carnage. I think it creats a good contrast with the Vs, who stick to each other but clearly disrespect the established hierarchy.
If new technology replacing the old is how overlords rise and fall in hell (except the one who deals in information, because that’s always powerful), then when the wheel dropped did the next guy come in wreck shop with a horse and cart? Did people sell their souls for lightbulbs?
I love Vox bro. He is that Uncontrollable mood you get sometimes when you somehow end up on top of everyone around you through chance. It isn't a healthy mood, not for those around you of course, but its a very good feeling which can't always be helped.
Vox is probably my favorite character in the entire series. It's just something about all the Vees that intrigue me. I want to see more of their storyline and get to know about their pasts and how they died. And yes, that includes Valentino despite how much people hate him. I want to learn about Vox's partnership with Valentino and Velvette, how they even met and how they grew the company to what it is now. Not to mention I want to see how Vox and Alastor met and then later on became enemies, what caused it, and how that went down. I can't wait for season two since Vox will be the main Villan/Antagonist. Maybe we'll get to see him in action, and hopefully get a few flashbacks of his past relationships with the Vees and Alastor.
Vox harbours unresolved sexually repressed spite towards Alastor for being rejected by him in every way. Vox isn't rational about anything involving Alastor so it's not strange how he reacted in the finale.
I thought he would be less skiled in manipulating people and then he treated valentino like the idiot he is. Also the moment when he got angry at him showing who is more powerful in the relationship which surprised me tbh.
To me, Vox, just like Adam, is a textbook Disney villain (in a good way). He's not evil because of a sad and tragic past who made him that way. He's evil because he can, and he enjoys it. These 2 would go right next to other iconic Disney villains, like Malificent, Jaffar, Ursula, Scar, Hades, judge Frolo, and so on.
You have to remember this is Hell so I would love to see a backstory for Vox on how he rose to power but like I said this is hell so the sinners he is tricking are no better than he is although I love Vox as a character can’t wait to see where he goes next

im so confused why does everyone keep talking about this line what does it mean can someone explain it 😭
@@shiny_crystal hi, basically, radio and video are different mediums of entertainment like books etc are too
But "medium" and "bloody rare" are different ways of cooking meat. And Vox showed dead deer - alastor is a deer demon
That line lives rent-free in my head. Clever lyrics in music: how I have missed it lately in this era of falling iq’s and shrinking vocabularies
direct meaning: he's old news, no one uses radio anymore
haha silly: dead deer medium and rare haha cooking
analytical meaning: medium to rare means he's getting overdone, he's overdue and it's Vox's era

And I just love the dichotomy of the whole thing 😂
Really excited to see how season 2 explores his character. Especially his past with Alastor seeing as he had a photo of him so maybe they used to get along 👀
The vees remind me of team rocket
kinda like silver spoon from iii
I'm pretty sure that Vox is one of those villains you love but not because they have even the slightest chance at redemption, but because they're entertaining af.
So kind of like Jack Horner from Puss in Boots.
His overall appearance helps aswell! I mean.. men with tv heads? 😏
Used to be entertaining, now just triggering thanks to Viv making him be with Val
@@StarViewer68 Yep
He also has the power to alter his own body if the old tv head photo is of any indication

like alastor
valentino fr
What's interesting is there is a ripped picture of Alastor with Vox being at the edges, so they used to pals at some point.
Alastor also called him "old pal"
I like to think Alastor didnt originally hate technology past his era. I think Vox and Alastor had such a messy fall out that he despises anything related to Vox, making him hate modern tech.
Vox died after Alastor so I like to think there was maybe a mentorship thing going on (perhaps related to Vox's unique powers)... like maybe Alastor helped Vox out (who would have been quite familiar with radio, growing up with it) in exchange for something but after a while, Vox wanted to keep modernizing whereas Alastor didn't which caused their falling out.
I like to imagine Vox tried to hit on Alastor but since he's ace he was oblivious and that started their falling out.
Where?
To be fair
Alastor was a cannibal murderer
So its not like he was any better
He also apparently ripped apart souls of overlords and broadcasted their screams on his radio show for all of hell to hear.
Frankly I think he’s worse than all three the vs combined 😭 but not more powerful(it’s foolish to team against a group of ppl and I think that’s why he only pokes fun at vox and not the other two)
He also took advantage of husk's gambling addiction and is still holding husk as a prisoner.
alastor: *kills ppl*
alastor: *dies and goes to hell*
alastor: *continues killing ppl*
true lmao
I wonder if he and Al were friends at one point and now he has some kind of mix of hatred and trauma.
(If you look closely at the picture of Alastor that they throw a knife at in the finale, you can see a cut out Vox next to him)
Literally would not surprise me if part of Vox's hate-on for Alastor would be he was hoping to become more than business partners, but Alastor's aro-ace and rejected his advances AND the potential business deal.
@@VNightmoonthat would explain why it seems so much personal, honestly.
i think vox had/has a crush/love for alastor that turned into obsession and due to him feeling betrayed he wants to destroy alastor. he is obsessed with alastor and alasor doesn't care. i like to think they used to be friends and vox tried to get them to team up and maybe even confessed to alastor which pushed alastor away and the fight happened

Another thing i've noticed about his voice is that, he's audibly more muffled whenever he isn't facing the camera (or, our screen)
I think that's a pretty cool detail lol
If anyone also noticed, vox and alastor, scratch the desk in the same way, alastor in the ending song, and vox when told alastor is back
i think that is just a common theme in the show, carmilla does it in ep 3 etc
Overlords resisting the urge to carve furrows in any desk or table they are near when they are angry challenge: impossible
(Carmilla does it too)
There is a theory that Vox and Alastor used to be friends because when Vox and Valentino were singing there part of the last song you can see what looks like some of Vox's suit and a picture of Alastor in his pilot suit.
It might be possible to take photos on Alastor with an old camera
Maybe they broke up over a disagreement between the merits of analog vs digital
Vox is the worst and that, ironically, makes him the best.

Point of order. He is not in charge of the Vees. They seem to be roughly equals although all of them think they are in charge.
Vox can do nothing to make me stop loving his character, he is just the best, PERIOD.

I absolutely loved this video analysis on Vox. He is one of my new favorite villains and i love to see more of him.
7:23 Help I got a Arby’s “we got the meat” comercial right after this 😭😭😭😭

Poor vel
One Vox TV effect you missed is any time his back is turned towards the audience his voice is muffled because his TV speakers project his voice forward. Also if you ever want to see what Val and Vox's relationship was originally planned to be like I highly suggest the comic Bad liars dubbed by Paranoid Dj as well as the Valentino fan animatic. It cemented Vox as my favorite character logo before the show came out.
I have a theory for Vox and his life on Earth
When the TV first came out in the 1950s, Vox instantly started to capitalise on it turning his business into a TV salesman and host.
It would makes sense why his head is a tv, how sinners die or what they did affects how they look.

Lets imagine this:
Vox gets to Hell and rises to power, but immediately finds out that instead of trying to make deals for people's souls or forcefully take them, he can influence them instead.

Vox is not just a "nuisance" for Alastor. He beat him in the past and currently has much more influence than Al.
His shortcoming is his bad temper. He lets Alastor get under his skin, so he seems less threatening.
@@that_icy_stylish_bitch
That's why vox isn't the best villain
Valentino= a Andrew Tate type of villain
Vox= that CEO villain like Elon Musk
Velvet= a influencer

Exactly
0:30 Friend with benefits is a very good way to put it
NOW THAT'S GOOD TELEVISION!
I love Vox bro. He is that Uncontrollable mood you get sometimes when you somehow end up on top of everyone around you through chance. It isn't a healthy mood, not for those around you of course, but its a very good feeling which can't always be helped.
Mama, I'm in love with a criminal 🙏😭
Vox is probably my favorite character in the entire series. It's just something about all the Vees that intrigue me.
I want to see more of their storyline and get to know about their pasts and how they died. And yes, that includes Valentino despite how much people hate him.
I want to learn about Vox's partnership with Valentino and Velvette, how they even met and how they grew the company to what it is now. Not to mention I want to
see how Vox and Alastor met and then later on became enemies, what caused it, and how that went down. I can't wait for season two since Vox will be the main Villan/Antagonist.
Maybe we'll get to see him in action, and hopefully get a few flashbacks of his past relationships with the Vees and Alastor.
Vox has been my favorite since he first showed up on screen in the main show I love him sm
Vox is the best Vee and no one can ate me think otherwise
Amazing video as always
You have to remember this is Hell so I would love to see a backstory for Vox on how he rose to power but like I said this is hell so the sinners he is tricking are no better than he is although I love Vox as a character can’t wait to see where he goes next
As soon as Vox started talking, I was wandering when he would ever shut up.
10:00 there's a security camera in the background what if Vox WAS watching Val when he was at the club?
If you watch the scene closely, you can see the camera shift as Val and angel walk away. So he most likely was
In the finale, when Vox and Valentino throw a knife at a picture of Alastor, at the edge of the picture, a TV is partially visible.
1:56 I just assumed it was a pun for “FOX” because, you know? FOX is a tv news channel and has dipped their toes in somethings throughout whatever industry
