I forgot to mention in my first comment, I also like Conrad Schenk's playing very much. Interesting note choices, nice touch, and very tasteful. I would like to see you have him on your show more often!

So fantastic to hear your playing and breaking down the various amps and pedals that you use. Love the conversational vibe of these videos. I play/gig my Friedman Smallbox 50 and I love the "Plexi" channel with overdrive pedals in front. My favorite is the Friedman "OD Deluxe" in front of the Plexi channel through a 4x12 with Greenback speakers...

That clean(ish) sound in the beginning was amazing. Sounds SRV like maybe even.

Love the show, those are some Great amps! I'm more of a traditional player myself I have a Friedman BE-100 that Dave modified for me, love the KOT & Phase 90 script.
as for power tubes EL34 EH have worked out great for live & studio sessions. Old school rack TC Electronic G-Force through loop, pedals front of amps. Also love SLO's.......
from Hendrix to Di Meola, Holdsworth, Blackmore, Schenker, SRV, Moore, Beck. Great Show!

I’m going to be subscribing because both of your are outstanding guitarists who still remain humble. I’m so happy to hear how great this show sounded because I own a Friedman Smallbox and I love to hear different players can sound through it. I laughed out loud when I heard one of you say” I need any pedal I can get”! Yeah sure, the fantastic playing that followed didn’t sound like you needed any effects at all.Anyways, I love the playing and I like your personalities a lot so cheers, I gotta go subscribe!

Hi guys! The El34's and 84's are pentodes while the KT66's, KT77's are Beam Tetrodes. There are tonal differences as the way the tubes operate is different too. The pentodes have got more gain and the tetrodes sound a bit cleaner. In terms of the difference between a larger valve to a smaller one is that the smaller valve needs less power to break up while the large valve has got more headroom and needs to be driven harder to break up. As a consequence of this, the smaller valve will break up a lot easier (earlier) and give you a much sweeter overdrive tone. For example a KT88 would break up hard and therefore produces a harsher gain, while something very small like a EL84 breaks up very early and sounds really sweet. This is one of the reasons the gain of an AC30 sounds as sweet as it does. I hope this helps! All the best

Great playing and sounds again - I always look forward to your live sessions + and there is a lot to learn about setting up the amps and combining them with pedals - you guys are not faking it - thats imho what I call authentic without filter - Now to another thing - I can't find a link to order you T-shirts, pleas include it in your next upload.

As of tubes its EL84 in my little Laney Iommi 15 watt and a guy at the local musicstore said they lack of low end, I really don't know about that in general. It can be a issue just with my amp.
