When Friedman has a new release. I ALWAYS wait until Micheal release’s his video to watch. Has such a good ear for great tone and he’s an underrated guitarist. ❤❤❤
This channel to me is in the Top 3 of the most useful and interesting gear related channels. Knowledge, nerdiness, ability to be top notch on every music scenario, incredible playing. What else?
This makes me happy. I love it when Michael demo’s an amp, especially something as cool as this one. Great job as always - and that goes for both Michael and of course Mr Friedman!
Sounds ballsy. It would be cool to A/B this against a Suhr SL67. I think either amp could do a Plexi fan proud (I have a Suhr but I also have a Friedman JJ Jr. and both companies are great!).
Got to say Micheal and Pete's demos are awesome. There are both different but they cover so much tonal landscapes. Love it. Thanks Mr Nielson. And thanks Mr Thorn
Best part of that demo was letting us hear through the camera in addition to load box at the end. Everything always sounds killer through the perfect IR on youtube, but you can tell that it sounded good in the room too. I think? Hoping… Either way, my plex is on order!
Your playing is awesome and the Amp sounds great. I had a 1959 reissue plexi. It was so dadgum loud, I sold it. I even had a Tom Scholz power soak but I was afraid that amp would burn it up. I want a Friedman.
I like how when you demo stuff you write a cool tune and then riff on it for a bit and then write an awesome solo on top so that by the time you've finished playing I already want the gear and am just sticking around for the specs and maybe some more riffing. Some other channels will do it backwards and then I start looking around to see if you or Pete Thorn got it lol.
at 1:10, there's a pushed cleanish glassy rhythm guitar, sounded amazing. You do an incredible job recording the best out of an amp and play the socks off the guitar. great video
Really great demo as always, Michael! You, Pete Thorn, and Leon Todd are my go-to channels for these types of demos. For the really super high gain stuff, John at Sonic Drive Studios is also amazing.
I come here for Mike’s playing and stay for the review. Would love to see you do some course based on your playing style. Would buy that on day one!!! My favorite player on RUclips! 🤘
Dude the low voltage switch gets Brown ! Very cool amp. The amp Marshall should’ve been making since the late 80s in my opinion, sure make the other stuff too but offer a tastefully modded super lead. Sure the Friedman Plex is expensive but not out of line compared to the UK made Marshalls honestly.
Oh cool! Thanks! I was a bit insecure about the opening track. I'm glad it's been well received. I thought maybe it was a little long... but I was having fun with it :)
....sounds really great and great playing again .... but Michael could sell me nearly everything ;-) , haha ... now i would like to hear a comparison video between the Friedman Plex and the Suhr SL67 MKI ... thanks for the Review
This amp is incredible ,Dave really did this amp more than perfect I was struggling trying to figure out what Amp Dave makes that I like the most and just found it ,lawd its so nice and Michael you did a awesome Demo of this amp thankyou and Dave for designing it and for making up my mind which friedman I really have to have and this is the Amp!!!!!1
Low gain plexi tones, and even "clean" (-ish) plexi tones are where the plexi shines for me. Not to say that a gained out plexi doesn't sound great, but it's the lower and cleanish stuff where its character really comes out.
Dave’s the best imo. Genius amp maker. I have the Wildwood guitars spec’d extra gain SMALLBOX. Off white. Love it. 8:04 love that Shabat tele. Need to find what pick ups are in it. I think lollars. Can’t remember.
Your demos are the best on YT. I just watched others by Pete and Dave and was thinking, pretty cool. Click on your video and I am thinking take my money already. And I don't know if your Jeff Beck vibe stuff is inspired directly by him or those he influenced, but it still equals tasty as all heck. 🙂
Amp sounds amazing. Speaking of amazing, I bought some of your IRs and I’m blown away at how great they sound. Thanks for those and all the great videos. Question: have you ever played the Aguilar 1911 preamp?
Great review - This is some of the best "Plexi Crunch" tones I have heard on RUclips - Maybe you mentioned it but what IR where you using - It had great attack on it
Thanks Michael! Sound great like always! Have always wondered why I loved the sound of Friedman amps and heads....Mesa Boogie too! This Head just has that Je Ne Sais Quoi .....what exact model is this puppy?🍇
When Friedman has a new release. I ALWAYS wait until Micheal release’s his video to watch. Has such a good ear for great tone and he’s an underrated guitarist. ❤❤❤
He should have way over 100k subs, minimum!
Whether this is your sound or not, you can *NOT* argue that Dave made an amp that is anything but a definitive take on it!!!
This sound is in everyones DNA. I love it when a company gives its customers what they want.
It’s AMAZING how Michael can dial in such accurate tones and then cop the playing vibe of so many classics. What a player!!😮
So generous of you to say. Thank you so much! 🙏
This channel to me is in the Top 3 of the most useful and interesting gear related channels. Knowledge, nerdiness, ability to be top notch on every music scenario, incredible playing. What else?
Wow! Thanks!!! I appreciate that!
Morning coffee with Michael and a new Friedman amp demo, it's gonna be a perfect day! 😊
This beats Marshall. Probably the best sounding amp I've ever heard. Dave, you are the fucking man!
Bogner Helios 50w is much more Superb amp. You need to try A/B this two amp. Helios 50w is another league.
Marshall just soiled their pants... Michael is a monster and Dave, well he's just being Dave. AMAZING TONE. THANK YOU
Marshall shoulda made this amp years ago though!
Who is Marshall and why is he wearing soiled pants?
This makes me happy. I love it when Michael demo’s an amp, especially something as cool as this one. Great job as always - and that goes for both Michael and of course Mr Friedman!
you and leon and pete tackled the task of making an amazing video about this awesome amp
Dude, your intro songs are the BEST! Very tasty playing
Totally agree.
Dave's such a Master with his circuit designs... All Friedman amps just have this fresh vibrancy, it's really something! Great demo vid Michael!
Sounds ballsy. It would be cool to A/B this against a Suhr SL67. I think either amp could do a Plexi fan proud (I have a Suhr but I also have a Friedman JJ Jr. and both companies are great!).
Totally wasn't expecting to hear def leppards stage fright. Awesome.
One of my favorites!
Awesome demo, Michael! Looks like I'll be selling some gear to make room for a Plex. Damn you Dave!!!
Great tones! You went through so many classic riffs and they sounded superb!!
Thank you kindly! Rock on!
Great demo and playing Michael. Thanks for playing dry not adding effects after the fact giving the true harmonic treasures of the amp. Well Done!
Hell yeah, finally! I've ordered one, can't wait to get it.
Sick tone and playing, Michael!
Got to say Micheal and Pete's demos are awesome. There are both different but they cover so much tonal landscapes. Love it. Thanks Mr Nielson. And thanks Mr Thorn
Stellar demo... Can't beat Michael Nielsen and Pete Thorn. Hope to plug in to a Plex one day!
You truly showed the plethora of shades of tone this thing is capable of. Amazing demo!
Came here for the amp, stayed for the playing. Serious chops man
Great playing during the intro! I love that Les Paul tone you had working......you are really in to something here
What an intro!!!! Amazing sounding amp with some incredible playing! By far, my favourite RUclips channel
Dave, the intro song is amazing!
What a great classic rock tone. Great song and playing, Michael!
When I saw this at Namm. I was already looking forward to your demo. Love those intro pieces.
Dude you are killing it with the classic riffs 🤘🤘🤘
Best part of that demo was letting us hear through the camera in addition to load box at the end. Everything always sounds killer through the perfect IR on youtube, but you can tell that it sounded good in the room too. I think? Hoping… Either way, my plex is on order!
once again, you have the best original music out of any RUclipsr. Awesome!
Terrific video, Michael. These types of amps are true player's amps...they reveal dynamics and nuance that is so rewarding.
That first track was smoking! Great job as always!
Man, that intro was tasty AF! Looove it. Great job, Michael
18:30 to 18:47 has to be the most PERFECT Plexi tone I have ever heard in my life
Agreed.
Your playing is awesome and the Amp sounds great. I had a 1959 reissue plexi. It was so dadgum loud, I sold it. I even had a Tom Scholz power soak but I was afraid that amp would burn it up. I want a Friedman.
That Amp got you playing, That's a good Plexi Amp. 🤠
Congratulations Dave.
Michael you always do a great job on these demos. Love your playing!
I like how when you demo stuff you write a cool tune and then riff on it for a bit and then write an awesome solo on top so that by the time you've finished playing I already want the gear and am just sticking around for the specs and maybe some more riffing. at 1:10, there's a pushed cleanish glassy rhythm guitar, sounded amazing. You do an incredible job recording the best out of an amp and play the socks off the guitar. great video
Mike, my man! The tapping lick at 0:55 was fire 🔥
Man, sounds like perfection! Just no where I could play it, thus will not realize it's potential.
Really great demo as always, Michael! You, Pete Thorn, and Leon Todd are my go-to channels for these types of demos. For the really super high gain stuff, John at Sonic Drive Studios is also amazing.
Man this amp sounds great and as always brother your intro tune is just killer!!! Thank you!
Best demo of this amp on Tube 🤟
Thanks Michael, that was a great demo!
Love it. Wish it would come with 1w/5w/10w/25w a built in attenuator. 50w is NUTS!
the low wattage setting is for that 🤠 also a power brake will get you where you want to be, but you still have a real live drum volume amp
Yeah I remember a couple months back or so he said he was probably going to put this one together I guess he did it for sure sounds great
Always great when you demo one of these Friedman amps. They definitely kick a$$!
Begging hoping and praying for you to get some Kemper profiles out eventually! This is THE sound!
Listening to you and Pete Thorn back to back is just tone and playing nirvana. Very, VERY cool amp.
I come here for Mike’s playing and stay for the review. Would love to see you do some course based on your playing style. Would buy that on day one!!! My favorite player on RUclips! 🤘

Huge sound! Great amp and awesome playing! Hi from 🇵🇷 🎸🔥🎼✌️
Opening sequence was awesome.
Dude I love everything you do…but this may be all time favorite. WELL DONE
Oh cool! Thanks! I was a bit insecure about the opening track. I'm glad it's been well received. I thought maybe it was a little long... but I was having fun with it :)
From the first A chord I was sold ..... Holy shit!
Awesome! Each guitar retains its own sound and character! Home Run!
....sounds really great and great playing again .... but Michael could sell me nearly everything ;-) , haha ... now i would like to hear a comparison video between the Friedman Plex and the Suhr SL67 MKI ... thanks for the Review
The amp sounds amazing. Appreciate the work you do as always Michael.
When the term 'maneuver' came into terminology, MVC inherently struck UFO/MSG tones. Good job Michael!
I must add that playing, instead of explaining is what this amp is all about.
Loved the different AC/DC album sounds!
Sounds like a Plexi should! Love it! I guess you will need another amp to go for a wet dry! Probably the best dry amp you could have!
and on the 8th day God created a Les Paul into a plexi 🤘
It does sound divine....
Clapton?
Michael that sounds ballzy and badass!!!!
I love that amp it sounds so good! Mr. Dave you nailed that tone man! Sweet
So many versatile useful tones just a few knob turns away. This and some basic effects and you will cover a lot of rocking tones.
I've been waiting since NAMM for you to have a video of this thing... and of course, you make it sound freakin' great!
Incredible playing & tones man! Dave hits a home run once again! 🎼🎸
Dave did an amazing job, the notes are very clear, what pickups were you using?
Intro track has a Lynch Mob feel to it, IMO. I was almost expecting Oni Logan to start singing!
I wonder how this compares to the Marshall SV20H or the Suhr SL68/SL67?
Thank God for DF and Mark Tremonti and real amps. And God bless the living Legend George Lynch. Tone. Masters. 🤘🏻🇺🇸🎸🔥
Low gain plexi tones, and even "clean" (-ish) plexi tones are where the plexi shines for me. Not to say that a gained out plexi doesn't sound great, but it's the lower and cleanish stuff where its character really comes out.
Damn, you just dropped some *serious* bows with this one! Awesome playing, awesome sound!!
You pulled down that Les Paul’s undergarments and gave it a proper seeing to at the beginning. 👍
😂🤣😂🤣. Thanks!!!
Best demo out of all demos on youtube, as always. When will you try the Metaltronix M 2000?
Dave’s the best imo. Genius amp maker. I have the Wildwood guitars spec’d extra gain SMALLBOX. Off white. Love it. 8:04 love that Shabat tele. Need to find what pick ups are in it. I think lollars. Can’t remember.
That's some beautiful classic tones coming from that beautiful box. Maybe have a comparison with the Magnatone Slash head.
Michael makes me want to buy every amp he tries!
Sounds awesome, I would stay and watch the rest of the video but I am off to practice after watching your opening track. Tasty playing as always.
Bogner,Friedman, Blug, and metropolis! Plus soldano and fryette all amazing!
HAVE MERCY!
nice lizzy cold sweat riff there :) sounds great
Your demos are the best on YT. I just watched others by Pete and Dave and was thinking, pretty cool. Click on your video and I am thinking take my money already. And I don't know if your Jeff Beck vibe stuff is inspired directly by him or those he influenced, but it still equals tasty as all heck. 🙂
Plex sounds amazing! 👍
Been waiting for your demo video since the Friedman clinic in Pittsburgh. Did not disappoint!
awesome demo of a fantastic amp!! Dave Friedman is a genious !!
Great playing Micheal!
Mike delivers another smoking 🔥 clinic!
Very nice! Effects loop would be handy, not sure why he didn't.
Killer intro brother!
Amp sounds amazing. Speaking of amazing, I bought some of your IRs and I’m blown away at how great they sound. Thanks for those and all the great videos.
Question: have you ever played the Aguilar 1911 preamp?
Wow! Cold Sweat and Lick it Up riffs in the same demo?!!! ❤️🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Great review - This is some of the best "Plexi Crunch" tones I have heard on RUclips - Maybe you mentioned it but what IR where you using - It had great attack on it
Thing of pure art.
That was a great and punchy intro! 🤘🏼
nice!! would be cool to see that compared to your 1971 super lead
Awesome song, awesome playing, great sound, great amp, just stelar work. Keep it up! 🤘👍🤗
Thanks Michael! Sound great like always! Have always wondered why I loved the sound of Friedman amps and heads....Mesa Boogie too! This Head just has that Je Ne Sais Quoi .....what exact model is this puppy?🍇
Oh durrrr.....is the Friedman Plex still being made ?
