Jake E Lee is now getting the recognition he's always deserved ,truly amazing guitarist that doesn't need a bunch of stomp boxes ,pure simple tone
I've been a fan since seeing him on MTV during the US Festival in '83. He's a genuinely awesome player.
I remember back in the 80's he was getting all kinds of recognition... We all thought, if you were playing with Ozzy you were the man. He is still my favourite Ozzy guitarist.
@@BlackCatBonz Well, it was tough when he got shafted. He was my number one guitar hero in the hard rock/metalsphere back in the 80s. I was thrilled when I first saw him with Ozzy. He had a tough gig because no matter who stood on that stage with Ozzy was going to be compared to Randy. But Jake held his own. When he was fired I was totally bummed out and never really took to Zakk's style. Badlands never took off as they should have, as great as great as they were. But, lo and behold, he's had a renaissance and that's wonderful. He's an undeniable master.
Watched Jake live last year. I have a pick he handed me while on stage. I intend to look under a microscope to analyze pick scrape and angle, when I find a cheap good microscope. Yes I am a geek, but it was a great memory in hard times.
@@BlackCatBonz Very true. Other than Eddie, everyone was watching who was with Ozzy. That was the water mark of guitar gods then. Eddie and whom ever was currently with Ozzy and yes Jake was my favorite Ozzy guitar player too since we could not have Randy.
Jake plays such tasty riffs that 99% of players who think they're playing "Bark at the Moon" right... aren't. I'm a studio/session musician and I remember when he finally sat down a few years ago and showed the riff, very slowly, and every player I know was like, "WTF?! Sh*t, I've been playing that wrong all this time?" I think he and Reb Beach were the most underappreciated rhythm players of the '80s. Stay safe everyone. Cheers.
Yeah, 95% of the people I see playing Bark at the Moon are way off.
Reb Beach is one of the best
Even the guys who played for ozzy after him play it wrong.
Reb is a badass🤟🏻
Jake's playing on the first Badlands record is second to none as far as I'm concerned. My favorite tones for sure
Smokin demo!!!!!
no lie!
You know you are old, when Michael explains who Jake E. Lee is... and you think... I knew this 35 years ago... oh wait, 35 years? Shit... :-) Jake was the man, completely different to Randy and unique in his playing. Even his second career with Badlands was stunning. Let's just say I am glad he is back, after a too long absence.
Michael is quite the sleeper shredder.🤘🏼 and I’ve been waiting for this review. Woot woot.
Literally got goosebumps when Jake started playing “Bark at the Moon”. I missed the boat on the JEL when it came out so I went with the BE-100 deluxe, absolutely no regrets.
this is the least douchey rig demo I have ever seen.. killer vid.. killer amp.. great work man. I want one BAD(lands)
Best tones I've ever heard you get. That's one vicious amp.
Soo vicious!
I do not understand how you arent at 1,000,000 subs. The quality of your videos, sound, and enthusiasm is unsurpassed. That may not be your goal, but dang! I have been a subscriber for a long time and you never fail to transfer your enthusiasm directly into me. Thanks for continuing to make some of the best content out there. Great Dave interview too!
I keep coming back to this video. Just great tone, playing, production. :)
Does sound nice
These Friedman amps are really insane. If I could afford one, I would own one.
Yeah man...they sound freakin amazing!....
get a job
@@fritzhieke7209 I have a job, Einstein. And I bet I make more money than you ever will. I have 3 kids in college and own my own home. How about you, hero?
Only an idiot would jump to conclusions and make such a childish comment. Grow up.
Holy SHIT that things sounds good.....WOW. This amp sounds better to me than the BE line. A tone of bite and articulation. It seems a bit closer to the Smallbox than the BE series. Absolutely, spectacular.
I bet you could get an interview with Jake. He always seems like a pretty regular dude during rig rundowns and stuff.
He's a bit of a loose cannon, I think. Might not be a great interview, but I'm sure it would be a great hang!
@@BigHairyGuitars if you interviewed him and asked him questions about being in Ozzy's band, it could get nasty for sure lol !
Sounds great. I hope this mean Jake will finally get some long overdue recognition (and royalties). Love that Friedman took a chance with the red wrap, which looks EPIC!
Absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for continuing to take the time and effort to share with us fellow gearheads, it's sincerely appreciated.
WOW!!! Awesome demo, man! Your musical taste lines up so well with mine - that ‘80’s hugeness - that I grin from ear to ear every time I watch your vids! Keep ‘em coming!!!! 🤘
what a great demo and video. It's always good to see Dave talk about the signature amps he builds for gods.
When watching 26 mins of a dude noodeling and talking to Dave Friedman make you a better guitar player.
There‘s some serious amp dialing in advice in here! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for this Michael and Mr Friedman! For those of us who love this kinda thing this is absolutely above and beyond everything we could have possibly hoped for in such a video!
Awesome demo Michael. This is the best tone you have had in any demo i reckon. SUPER RICH. Love it love it love it.
Quite the righteous introduction of this beast, big kudos. love both you guys !
Michael, a Big THANK YOU to you and Robert Baker for keeping Hard Rock and Classic Rock alive! I'm glad to see a younger age continue to discover and rediscover this timeless genre of music. Cheers!
Wow. That sounded great. This might be my favorite Friedman amp clip. Great tones on the tune and demo!
Love the interview with Dave!
Man, every one of your demos of a Friedman amp makes me want that amp. This one and the runt in particular, but you have sold me on every single one if I ever get that kind of money.
jake's tone is perfect now I know how to get it. Thank you dave and thanks michael for the best review and interview.
OMG what an Intro Michael, amazing playing! And jeeeeesus that amp sounds freaking good!!!
You did an awesome job on this run through of the Jel 100. Your playing is admirable and loved all the detailed explanations of the settings. Very helpful! Cheers 🍻
Another STELLAR Friedman demo Michael!!! I bought my BE-50 Deluxe because of you and your demo of it!
Amazing tone Michael!!! This is a true rock machine
BEAUTIFUL demo, Michael!! Friedman is lucky to have a guy like you demoing their gear :)
Great demo! Amp sounds incredible!!! Nice interview with DF!
My God that sounds incredible
Best sounding Friedman yet. It can't get better
Most excellent review Michael, I appreciate the fact that you're a player & you can articulate how the amp sounds in all aspects. Rock on & keep em commin brother
Dude, You always have Excellent Reviews... Love the tones you're getting from this amp and your studio gear. Absolutely love your Les Paul. 👍👍
Great tones
That tone with the mid all the way up is AMAZING!
Excellent as always! Thanks for the video!
Love the way it looks!
Such great feel in your playing!
I was really hoping to see this on your channel!!!
WOW...that biting articulate tone you get at 5:58-6:30 is absolutely SICK! You said it was 800-ish, but I've never heard an 800 sound like that. They always sounded fizzy, and shrill to me. You had that dialed in perfectly.
Sounds great!
LOVE this... And what an amazing amplifier. REAL tone... Not imitation digital faux-tone (and yes, I also own a Helix & Kemper)... Best amps being sold today and Michael, you sound incredible through it.
That was my first experience playing one of Dave’s amps. 3 chords and 😳🤯
It’s as though he could hear the tone I’ve been searching for my entire life in my head✌️
My favorite amp that Friedman has ever made. Hope he makes them available again in the future.
The Friedman stuff is just sooo good. And this demo did a really good job of showing off the versatility that honestly his stuff doesn't get enough credit for because most online demos turn the gain way up and just focus on that sound. It is not hard to dial in a SRV tone on a Friedman that will take expensive amps that specialize in that tone out to the woodshed.
Dude. I love your videos and this vid probably my favourite one.
Absolutely killer video!! Thank you for this!! I hope your keeping that amp!
i love the tones of that amp! got to play one and it’s killer. might be my fave amp tone you’ve demoed on your channel too. it’s a perfect fit for you.
Thanks Mentoneman! I agree, it's killer!
Yes!
amazing playing
Freakin AMAZING! Thanks Michael
amazing playing!
First came across your videos with your demo of the Friedman BE Mini... You convinced me I needed one... And then I come across THIS. God damn the pusher man. :)
I feel your pain dude.
Looks like a clear winner for a big hairy profile!!
Killer amp! Great playing, btw. Excellent tone for days.
THanks as always for a great review on a great amp, Mike!
Great playing Michael!
Best intro of all time for a gear test.
MASSIVE Jake E Lee fan....thanks for this video!
Omg, bro. So good! Sounds great. Love Jake. Great demo I want this! Btw, great badlands riffs. Dave nailed it with this. Totally rips. For marshall tones, this is the pinnacle imo
Absolutely killer! Thanks man!
GREAT video demo ! That amp sounds excellent! Super riffing, as well!
Great playing, great interview, and overall great demo! Looking forward to your demo of the Twin Sister (hint, hint)!
very cool sound Michael
Love this guy's sense of humor!
HiLaRiOuS intro. Great demo vid Michael. Love those sizzling licks and lead tones you're getting from that amp! Sounds MONSTROUS!!!
Channel 2 is the absolutely the best friedman overdrive sound I've ever heard so damn barky and pissed off yet rich thick warm everything all at once! I want that sound in my life so bad it hurts!
THIS. IS. AWESOME !!!!!! THANK YOU!!!! JAKE E LEE - BEST EVER! KILLER TONE ON THIS AMP - WOW!!!
Nicely done.
Great sounding amp!
Hell Yeah Michael! Great vid!
Man that sounds killer!
Friedman amps are the ultimate holy grail. The tone is just AMAZING! I would love Dave release consider releasing a mini head with just that gorgeous Plexi channel of the SB, or the BE100 DLX with the mods (I'm guessing this has not been done, yet). Love it!
That sounds like I remember it did but I know it sounds way better in so many ways. There is no brittleness to the tone and it has all the harmonic richness Dave is able to work into his amps. What a tone!
Friedman makes the Best Marshall amps
Great video, and killer tones !.
Great demo on an amazing amp!
Teach me all those Jake licks. Nice review. Great playing
Incredible amp and also some great Friedman guitars featured in the opening track which was killer by the way... I'm super jealous that you have those toys to play with🤘🤘🤘🎸🔥🎸🔥🤣
Amazing!
Dave with the Marshalls in the background lol. Hot Rodded like an evil Kineval bike no doubt 😎
DAMN YOU, MICHAEL!!! I was just about to get something done when I decided to refresh my Subscriptions list and saw your vid... ;) THANK YOU!
same!
Sounds good
One of best amps I've ever heard
Jake!!
Great demo, playing and sick amp 🎯
Very nice tones, good demo
Enjoyed your employment of Badlands' to illustrate much of the spots you highlighted upon as I'm sure there is plenty of in betweens that are also nice as well. And the BATM surprise was a nice touch as well. 😎
Nice production.
We need this on the KEMPER
So cool to see this video! I love 80's guitar playing and tones. I have had one of these amps with a matching 4 x 12 cab on order since January. This is the first video that shows me what I can expect. And WOW! It's gonna get loud! I can't wait for the "square kick in the chest" on the first chord as Dave put it. Great playing to show what this amp is made for.
That amp sounds incredible.
Fantastic Demo!!! :)
I'm glad you put in the Rock n Roll Revel riff!!! I love Bark but RRR is just my fave riff of his, and you nailed that tone. Bark has so much going on effects wise, I still don't know what Jake was thinking with that thin, tinny lead sound (wicked solo though, of course). Ultimate Sin is such a great album with Jake, too bad Ozzy has disowned it.
Got the popcorn out for this one 🤘🏼
This guy sounds awesome!!!
Looove the sound of this amp. I'm hoping it ends up being a production model and not just a limited run.
Dave needs to make a Mike Nielsen signature head. The tones you pull on this demo are way better than anything Jake has done since the first Badlands album :D
Ouch, man!
