Effective Techniques for Managing Your Guitar Amp

In this video i show you my approach for getting a real proper gainstage for all kinds of sounds. In this case i use the Friedman SMALLBOX 50 and the Danelectro ROEBUCK. I hope you can get some information out of this video and use it for your tone.

I find it very inspiring and energizing to come to your channel and hear all of your seriously great true rock tones,I just love it! I’m especially happy to hear you get these great sounds from your Smallbox as I have one as well , and while I like it very very much, sometimes I hear other guys get saturated buf spikes and kind of nasty sounds and I second guess my choice.Your tones show me there are great Marshall type tones available from these amps too as long ad you have ears and taste. Thing is thoug - you dial in the first sound and I'm like yeah great, that's exactly what I want. You dial in your second variation and I'm like yeah great, that's exactly what I want. You change to the third and I'm like yeah great, that's exactly what I want. You go to number five...well you get the idea 😂🙈 I love the way you sound ❤

Very cool, I always found that when I stand too close to the guitar cab with my guitar the tone becomes a little darker, so the tone always changed after taking a few steps back. Infinite factors and variations with all this stuff, a terrifying rabbit hole XD!

I learned the hard way many years ago - it only sounds "darker" in front to f the amp because all the highs are blasting past your legs and killing the people 15 feet away. I had a whole group ready to lynch me until I stepped way out in front of my amp to see they weren't kidding. I leapt over to my amp and turned the treble WAY down and they were very thankful.
