Thank you, you have been very helpful. Although my problem is not solved , I have a better understanding of what is probably the problem. Either my inverter LED driver or my LED backlight straps need to be checked out. I am going to call a technician to see if it cheaper to fix or just buy a new one. Once again, thank you so much.
If you get sound but no picture, there is input. So the TV wouldn't say no input or give a blue screen. There are a number of reasons for this, a faulty hdmi cable, faulty hdmi socket in the TV or connected device etc.
Absolutely brilliant you explained it wonderful,my blaupunkt TV unfortunately is still not working (sound)but (no picture) I tell you I bought this wonderful 3DTV +glasses about at least 12 years +ago,it must of been £250-£300( Sainsburys in uk ,its got everything, and for quality, and extras it would give all the big boys a run for there excess prices, its been brilliant
you helped me a lot. you are truy knowledgable and I appreciate your help with this. you have a good way of explaining everything. I took the back of my Samsung tv off. After troble shooting all of your suggestions, I think I only need to replace the main board.
I tried the power cycling with no luck...My TV works for a few weeks and then the picture disappears again for a few days/weeks and then works again..I dont know anymore😢
My TV was working just fine then as I was going through a menu it blinked out all these power cycling "tricks" aren't doing 💩 I hear the sound in the background but no picture but every so often it flickers what I should be showing.
I disconnected everything from my one year old TV, and tried the first few methods. Nothing worked. Thankfully, I bought a protection plan from Walmart. Nobody makes quality products like the used to.
Very clear information. I didn't hear about my specific situation, but I still did all the steps, just in case, and no luck. I actually see the image, but it's very dark. I tried adjusting the image settings, but it's not working. Are there any other suggestions for me? Thank you.
I just ordered a power supply board😢I doubt that it is the problem . Now after watching more videos I see it’s probably the backlighting. I see a faint picture, that’s what made me think power board
Hi Michael. Thanks for your article on the website about the LG TV but all of a sudden the ON/OFF toggle doesn't exist anymore and the Advanced Settings is grayed out on the Network Selection. It used to exist and scan networks but tonight as I was watching Netflix, all of a sudden this happened. 😔 RSVP
My problem was a back light issue. After trying most things this is what I did to fix my pos Samsung that is only about a year and a half old. With a open hand I hit the TV firmly, not hard, 3 to 4 times on the back, upper left area. Picture came back😊
Will the same principle apply to a Philips Roku TV? We have a 50” that we purchased less than 2 years ago that went black screen on us. I’ve been able to change channels on guessing where I’m at and still have sound. I can tell there is some kind of light as I can see the screen actually go even darker when I power off. Almost as if there is a small hint of bluish color when power is on.
We FINALLY convinced Samsung to take it back. It proved difficult as the return window expired. (The tv sat in the box while we waited to move in). We ordered a new one (cheaper I might add since they went on sale) and it’s working perfectly. Good luck!
Power cycling fixes it for me, but it has to be done every single time the TV has been off for a while, which sometimes means 2-3 times per day. The backlight is definitely on but no picture. In our case we have a One Connect and it's only the screen power which needs powercycling - not the One Connect box.
My Samsung does the black TV randomly. It’s frustrating. The turning off for 3 minutes works, but hoping it doesn’t develops into something bigger. I’ll try the off button solution and see how well that solves the issue.
Unfortunately none of the suggestions worked for my 85”. As far as buying a new one because it would be cheaper, this model is obsolete after four years and the replacement is the same price, over $4500. I can’t imagine that a tech would be more expensive.
How do you see if your TV is at the right source if you don't have a picture?? Also, my TV is ignoring the remote when you try to turn the TV off.. Everytime I have to kill power to it to turn it off
I’ve got a 85inch only 15 months old, got sound and it’s not jet black but black , sight light change as ppl move around but I have noticed that there is no red power light when you turn the tv on or off
My Samsung tv stopped showing image but has sound, tried every step but still nothing, opened the back and when I disconnect the 12 pin cable between the main and power board I get all the leds on but as soon as I connect it back, leds turn off.. any advise? Thanks in advance
Ok. So I've tried all i can think of to get my Samsung to work. I always have these problems with Samsung TV's! They just suddenly black out. The LED works as I can tell bc the lights still blink behind the TV, but the screen is still black. No picture and no sound, although im not sure there shoukd be sound if no picture anyway. However, when i open the tv and remove the ribbon cable from the main board but keep it connected to the t con board, the led lights stop blinking and remain on and the tv makes a soundcas if it has just powered on and pressing the remote buttons causes sound on the tv as it does when searching from the app bar or toggle, but of course no picture. When i plug the ribbon cable back in to the main board, it goes back to black screen, blinking led lights and doesn't make the power on sound. I have tried taping some pins on the cable but at best i only got lines on a black screen. I now have 2 tvs, both samsung, doing the exact same thing. Does this sound like the ribbon, tcon board or main board problem?
Still have sound but screen is black except top 6inches of screen is basically green distortion. 🤔🤔 Guide page still comes on still have youtube Home page image until I hit play
I just cut the power to my house at the meter box and did the procedure and turned the power back on and that worked for me, but I’m not an electrician, but it’s just a flick of a switch, so use your best judgement
If you have a flat wall mount, there isn't much room to get behind the TV, but sometimes you can start to take it off the wall and it will give you more space to work. It might be better to just take it off the wall until you can get it to work. I always use a full motion wall mount so I can easily access the back of the TV.
@kwclove7623 I've actually always used Samsung TVs and haven't had any problems. Based on the amount of views for this video and others I have for Samsung TVs, they clearly have their issues at times. The only others I would consider would be Sony or LG.
There are no connections into my tv. Pressing the menu button doesn't show the menu screen. Samsung should stick to just making phones, I have a Toshiba that I've had longer than the Samsung Smart TV, and it's still working. I have Samsung appliances as well, all malfunctioned after 2 years and had to get them serviced. Samsung monitors are also crap, no VESA mount holes.
@@vandanasantoshkumar5182 not sure at all, I just happened to continuously press it out of curiosity and it worked, I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t for you
Samsung tv's are overpriced crap & made all over the place in any country, build quality & life span are ridiculous would never buy Samsung again or recommend to anyone I know !
The "reality" is samsung builds these tvs to fail in hopes you will buy a new one . Power cycling doesnt work , you usually have bad LED strips that need replaced.

You are awsome! The first step worked perfectly! Thanks for taking time when you made this video to help all of us! Our family is really thankful!
You're welcome!
A lot of this makes no sense to me... If the HDMI or other connection stopped working you would still get a blue screen telling you there is no input.

Thanks man, makes sense because I deal with capacitors that are not located on boards, but do have their own pressure release hole. 👍
Thanks for the great advice. Tv still not working but I had steps to follow.

Wow great coming aclose this video..my tv behaved this last night...I'll try it when I get home
Thank you, bro! You've saved my day!
How are we suppose to check the input if we can’t see the screen???
😂same
@slumcitymarv7050 some folks don't realize that they are just on the wrong input. It's a simple check but typically not the problem.
I tried the power cycling with no luck...My TV works for a few weeks and then the picture disappears again for a few days/weeks and then works again..I dont know anymore😢
Thanks. Had the same symptomes like you. Tejp helped 😂
Samsung came and took my tv for repair. Tu700 series has problems with the motherboard, its still under warranty. Sound no picture.
Thanks! I paid $2k for this 65” QLED tv a years and a half ago. I was about to lose my mind!
Thank you so much!! I powered the tv and my pic is back! Life saver 😂
