If you have a black screen(w/sound) then the home/settings is worthless because the screen is black.
PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW IN THE HELL DOES ANYONE GO TO "SETTINGS", WHEN YOU CANNOT SEE ANYTHING ON THE SCREEN?!
Shine a flashlight on it. Takes a little looking around but you can see the screen dimly.

0:54 when you say "hold down the physical power button". it is not a physical power button, when you press it, you just access to a standby mode (so no electric interruption)...
Thanks! various help pages said my fault was probably the t-con board, but your advice to remove one ribbon cable from the board did indeed then immediately make exactly half the screen work as normal. I've ordered a s/h t-con board on ebay & hopefully will have a working tv again soon! thanks again.
HOW CAN WE DO THE FIRMWARE WHEN WE CANT EVEN SEE THE SCREEN?
If you can't see anything at all, then just skip that step - some people have screens that are not totally gone, so it's for them.

I have no picture but the screen lights up to some extent with a blue/black tint (i do not see any faint images). sound works. none of these options actually seem to relate to my issue. looking for your advice. i cleaned all cables and plugged them back in. no luck

Q. I Bought a qe55q60 from ebay.
I arranged the courier... parcel force decided to smash it to bits as usual.
It works but with cracks and lines across the screen,
I've found the same TV but ever so slightly different model number on ebay, title is...sound but no picture.
the screen looks like it hasn't been damaged.
Will swapping out the screens probably fix my cracked screen issue even if it is a back light issue on the donor TV ?
I really don't want to be putting a new TV straight into landfill if I can help it.

btw OMG I thought I was going to add to landfill. I got it working somehow with your help, the idea of unplugging the wide cable on the board from the power supply, then plugging in the power actually lit up the backlight. I unplugged the power cable plugged in the cable back into the motherboard and it somehow started. That is my experience.

Great guide thank you. I have been using it to fix my Samsung TV however it seems temporary. I have sound but no picture that shows a faint image with the torch. I have disconnected and reconnected all wires which worked but then have the issue again some days later. By disconnecting the cable between the power unit and main board I am able to get the backlights working though I noticed the last time I had to switch the power on and off a few times for the backlights to come on. If I have understood your video correctly this would most likely be a fault with the t-con? When disconnecting the t-con ribbons one by one to test it, are all other cables connected? Thanks in advance, appreciate the help
Update: changed the t-con and now seems to be working fine 🤞
Looking for help! I have a Samsung 82" QN82Q6FNAFXZA - When I power on the TV i get a white flash/streak across the middle of the screen, then the tv goes completely black. I have audio and I can change channels and control volume. looking to buy parts and fix at home.....hopefully, any suggestions? What parts and best place to buy them. Thanks

Hi. I have this issue but only when watching live terrestrial TV, not any of the other apps such as Netflix, iplayer etc. TV is running the latest software.
Samsung 58" 2020 does not have t-con anymore, only one wide cable going to one of the two screen boards. (T-con failure diagnosed)

@@BUKAANWAH no, we called someone and they came out to fix it. It needed a new motherboard I believe. That’s what we did if I remember correctly.

Hi, I have a black screen but have sound. The back light comes on when i disconnect the main board. I've gone to the trouble of buying new power board and main board and also a T con board. Replaced them and still nothing. HELP

powerboard is dead. the pop is maybe a fuse or capacitor.
held down the power button for 10 seconds and didn’t work, 15 seconds and it still didn’t work, then 25 seconds and suddenly it begun working!
If i switch of the cable that connects the power board to the main board, the TV doensn't turn on. I think you don't mention that possibility
What to do when backlights working (or at least all visible through the panel), no picture at all and it has 4 LVDS cables? One by one or two by two with the LVDS?
I watched this with interest but still can't quite pinpoint where my issue might be. My issue is (Samsung OLED) starts up showing backlight with startup sound, but then turns off again. Sometimes gets as far as homescreen but then screen goes black. Standby LED blinks on and off. Previously we'd noticed feint horizontal lines on the tv.

Hi iv been having problems with my tv since I got it that been 5 yrs little longer some. Times when I put the tv on there just black screen with auto. And the bigger thing is when I turn the tv there line alway down it . And I. End to shut everything of and reset it ,wish I could purchase picture on here so you can see what it look like .
I'm having a little bit of all the symptoms. I have a 2021 Samsung 75 Smart TV. I was watching TV and all of a sudden I lost 75% of my picture and the 25% was dim. I unplugged it from the wall and the picture came back up for about 5 seconds and then the TV itself began to power cycle on its own. Which has me leaning towards the power board since it's self power cycling.
My tv flickerd for 3 minutes and then black. I see picture when i shine a torch. What could it be?

Samsung sucks. 3 Tvs not working with in less than 2 years of minimal use. Had old Sony more than 17 years old kids played play station on it use it all day still working till today. Why is the quality of samsung going down the pipe like toilet paper.
We share the same sentiments... i understand it's already 4 yrs old but i barely use it, probably if i have time only, i only watch Netflix, RUclips. Not abused, if i ever use it not for the whole day, everyday. I tried screen mirroring Audio's working perfect fine, i can hear the sound if i navigate from my remote control but totally black.... i tried all powercycling and it didn't fix the issue. I was torn with scheduling technician visit or buying a new one. But it's really disappointing as some people I know their TVs been abused but still working for 10 yrs now. 🤦♀️😭
@sarahcabreros8494 it's broken because like you said you barely used it. it's like saying you barely exercise, of course you're weak because you don't work out. Just like the tv, the tv broke because you barely used it it's not running enough so it broke

I see three things tv have.. Power Board, Main Board and T-Con.. I dont know if I buy T-Con and replace it. Cuz the TV has no picture but it has sound...

As many others have mentioned, with a black screen you are helpless to make any adjustments. I am going to get rid of my Samsung, there have been a few problems in it's lifetime, it even had a new circuit board, time for another brand.

Other people are saying hold a flashlight up to the screen at an angle. You may see a very dim picture.

Ok I’ve got a 85inch Samsung, 15 months old, I have a black screen but in the dark I have shadows very dark as ppl walk around in films etc but can’t see a picture , I have sound but no standby light

My screen works for likea few seconds then it goes black but you can tell its still on because theres like a light glow to the screen

I'd check to see if any capacitors,or fuses are blown on your power board.
