    Thanks for the valuable description of your repair process! I used this process to re-seat the connector for the "bad" LED on my 65" Samsung. Re-seating the LED corrected the problem with my TV. In the process of repairing the LED, I cracked the top corner of the LCD and scrapped the TV. As already mentioned in the video, take care with that LCD and get help when putting the TV back together. The 65 and 70 inch models may be more awkward to handle.

    Thanks for this, very helpful, I repaired my tv by myself. I went to a "technician" to replace the mainboard, after that the screen was very dark and he said that the board wasn't working properly, I took my TV home and see your video. I disassembled all, and I realized the both Led strips were ok but the guy installed the transparent projector screen upside down :). So I change that and everything was perfect. Another thing to check is in the settings, go to Eco mode, if it is high then the screen will be dark. Thans again

      Unplug your TV from the electrical connection for at least 60 seconds to allow the TV to reset. Make sure there are no external connections like HDMI. If these don't correct your issue it's possible that the screen was damaged.

    • @MyPIDream
      @MyPIDream  Год назад

      Normally an individual light will not be off without the entire string failing. It's like the old Christmas tree lights when one bulb fails and the entire set of lights won't work. If you have one light that is out but the string is still working that's strange. I don't think you'll be able to replace a single LED easily. Best bet is to replace the string.
      I use GoPro cameras for my video recordings. These days the Hero 9 is my favorite.

    This is what i need to be seeing. I bought a Samsung 4k TV, and it looked great, for 2 years. And for a $600 TV. That is unacceptable.
    The problem was with half the screen going dark. It happened quickly but gradually, and calling customer service about it. Of course i was expected to pay out of pocket for the repair. At least $300. And that's just not happening.
    So i bought a new one. And I still have the old one set aside because i don't feel like it's actually "broken" yet, it can still be fixed. I just don't know how. I can understand the obvious, i just don't have the tools or the space, or the experience. But i feel like i am going to figure this out eventually and I'll have 2 TVs then.

      Could this be scam by Samsung? Mine developed shadows a month ago after 2.5 years then one side black out and now it’s total blackout. I only get sound. • @derealized797
      @derealized797 2 года назад

      @@thebomb5629 I'm wondering this myself, this seems to be a fairly common issue. It is NOT something to remain quiet about either, and there are lot of things about samsung as a company, which i disagree with. But, this ... no one should get away with such BS quality, I'm sick of how poorly everything is made now, this is unacceptable.
      Yeah the technology these days, so great, while it lasts. Seriously though an old crt tv from the 70s you could kick down the FK'N stairs leave out in the rain and snow and beat the snot out of it. It would still work today so many decades later.
      These things now, sure the image looks good. But just sitting there, couple years later, after your goddamn warranty expires, you can't see a damn thing. They seem to do this because they get away with it and this is why we all need to be very vocal about this issue. If they do not deserve that top shelf reputation, then they should be known for their poor quality and it should effect sales.
      It's mixed though. So you get people who say well i never had a problem. OK, but so many people have with particular other products. It ain't cheap stuff either. I swear this is no accident.

    Absolutely great video! Just used the guide to replace the leds on my 55 inch (same model). Very helpfu as I've never done anything like this beforel. One question if you don't mind... my TV looked exactly the same as yours at the start (which is why I thought it was the leds). Took it apart and I replaced both strips, put it all back together and now I've got two varying shades of bright. The side that was black is now crystal clear and the other side is a little duller. Clear split down the middle so I know it's something to do with the leds but any ideas why I would have various shades? Both strips are brand new from the same packet. Thanks again for the video!

    • @MyPIDream
      @MyPIDream  2 года назад +1

      My first thought is the replacement LED backlight strip that you indicate is lower in output than the other might be defective. It could also be the power supply. I would first use a voltmeter to check the output to the LED backlight strip on a blank screen with no input and then compare voltages going to both strips. If the input voltage is the same then it shows the power supply is good and you have a defective strip. You will have to replace the bad strip.

      Sorry to hear you're struggling with reassembly. I'm at a loss for why it's not going back together as easy as it came apart. Take all the panels off again and make sure everything is lined up. Good luck!

    Hi James I had a similar issue with my Samsung. TV was under warranty it had a blown fuse and transistor, they replaced fuse and entire motherboard. 6 months later it happened again but not under warranty this time, told me it would cost 800 for motherboard, I took board out to local repair shop and had them replace the blown transistor, cost me 5 bucks for part and 10 for labor, put it together and it's still working. Decided not buy Samsung again, too wasteful, replace whole components only and not pieces. Wish you luck with yours.

    Great video. If the backlight is dark can you check voltage supply going to the led strips first rather than doing a tear down only to find you have a supply voltage problem? Or a connector problem. I have 40" samsung i haven't taken apart yet with audio no video and completescreen black. Thanks for any help.

    • @MyPIDream
      @MyPIDream  Год назад

      Yes, you can disconnect the connector to the light strip and use a multimeter to confirm there is voltage present. If not, then you can assume there is an issue with the power supply.

    Great video. Just fixed a rather new QLED Samsung with half the screen dark and the repair was exactly the same. Amazon didn't have the correct LEDs for this model but found them on Ebay out of China. Parts took about 2 weeks to arrive but the fix was done in no time. Thank You

    Hi ,i liked the video soo much, but i have one question,if my left side have like some whiteness parts i can do the same process or do i have to do something else?

    • @MyPIDream
      @MyPIDream  10 месяцев назад

      If there are some whiteness or "brightness" the screen layers maybe be out of alignment if it had been reinstalled earlier. It will require disassembly and reassembly with particular attention to keeping the screen layers properly aligned during the reassembly.

    Hi,
    Great video. I change my LED the same way and it worked. But after few hours of screen time few LED died off. What could be the reason?? I bought my LED from AliExpress. I also noticed that when I changed my LED the previous once were burned and it burned the white panel a little bit too. I am guessing my TV might have something else faulty like on board which controls power to LED. Please let me know if you have some clue???

    • @MyPIDream
      @MyPIDream  6 месяцев назад

      It's possible the output voltage to your light strips are out of tolerance. As the light strips are inexpensive, you can try this: Turn down the brightness control to about 30%. Leave the tv on for several hours to verify it does not burn out the light strips. If 30% gives you satisfactory brightness keep it there. If not, adjust higher but I do not recommend increasing it over 50%. Too much brightness leads to premature failure of the LED light strips.

    • @MyPIDream

      The screen should not be affected by light touching but I would avoid placing it where it might be bumped as it could be damaged.

    Did some research on the Samsung tv ...ordered LED strips from aliexpress for a little over 8 dollars US which included shipping...also of note is to not keep the backlit settings on max...supposedly the LED's will last longer. I like the fact that you kept to bezel on the surface and lifted off the backing which had the circuit boards...made much more sense than flipping it over and lifting the glass off from the top.

    • @MyPIDream

      The tip for not pushing the brightness to max is one of the best ways to avoid this LED burnout. I keep mine now on about 50%.

    Hey! Thanks so much for this vid. My 65" Samsung just did what yours had done with half the screen going dark. Watched through the whole video before ripping open mine to make sure I know what I'm doing. The replacement part tip is super invaluable and I'll be ordering mine shortly. A little scared about the glass screen though as I don't have a polycarbon stand for it. How recommended is it that I make one of those first?

    • @MyPIDream
      @MyPIDream  Год назад

      Your 65" is a challenge when it comes to removing all the screen panels. Without extreme care you risk the chance of damaging the thin glass. I don't want to discourage you but I just want to make sure you exercise care when doing this on such a large tv.

      The tools I used were regular tools in my workshop. As for the LED light strips it's best to search on Google. Your best chances are to find them on Alibaba, AliExpress or Lazada but you can also get them on Amazon.com if you are in the US.

    This is amazing! I'm currently having issue with my 65'. When searching for the led strip do I have to look for like a specific model/code of my Samsung tv?

    • @MyPIDream
      @MyPIDream  3 года назад +1

      Yes, you have to match your model with the appropriate LED backlight strip. Characteristics of the LED strip are different from TV to TV. You really need at least another set of hands or more when doing something as large as at 65" and above. Good luck!

    Great video. I am trying to fix an insignia NS LCD32-09. My adorable cat threw the tv down. Tested the power board and seems to be outputting the correct voltages to T con, and inverter board but on the inverter high voltage side that powers the LED is zero volts. oh, the area the TV hit was very close to the inverter board. Symptoms of the TV is no audio and no picture. Flashlight test does not show LCD activity. I am tempted to buy an inverter board but what do you think I should do? Oh back on our Caribbean twin islands we share fruits all the time amongst our family and friends. I never had to buy a mango until I came to the U.S. 😀 but luckily where I live now i and friends have mango trees 😀

    Hey!
    Thank you so much. This video is very informative. It helped me take the TV apart and identify that the LED strip on one side had failed. I ordered a new strip, have fitted it, and can see that the new strip is now working (yay) however, on putting the TV back together again, I now have a vertical black strip in the centre of the TV where the picture is not loading at all. It's solid black, nothing related to the light. I assume I must have gone wrong somewhere in the reassembly process?
    Any ideas?

    • @mercedeslois
      @mercedeslois 2 года назад +1

      Okay I think we know what the problem is now! One of the brown coloured ribbons (??) that is attached to the T Con board has come unstuck, and it's perfectly in line with the black strip on the TV Screen so we're certain this is the issue. How do we stick this back down? When we press down on it, the strip turns white. Thanks.
