I was ready to order a power supply board when I saw your video. THANK YOU!!! Your advise to pull plug, disconnect surge protector, and reset WORKED wonderfully. We pair over $400 for our un50tu8000fxza Samsung TV 3 years ago and we were distressed that we may need to discard it. We are retired and $400 for a new TV would hurt. Thank you again for selflessly sharing your expertise with others.
This is one of the best and most through videos we have ever seen. EVER! Haven’t tried these fixes yet but wow so detailed. Thank you. You took nothing for granted. Fantastic. Whether my tv works again or not, thank tou
…thank you SO much 😭😭I had tried everything , bought a new cord , left unplugged forever and had just accepted my 2 year old tv was screwed but THIS fixed it after months using my laptop to watch stuff , thank you soooo much 😭
I moved my Samsung to another room... would not turn on. Found your video... pulled the plug... found the manual power button and held it for over 15 seconds. Waited 30 seconds, then plugged it back in... and voila! It turned right on. Thanks so much, there is no way in hell I would have figured that out...
This works!! I have a Samsung LN S4051D that, out of the blue, wasn't turning on and no standby light at all. My power button on TV is on the front bottom middle and standby light is on the power button. This button hasn't worked in years. I unplugged it from both the wall and back of TV, held power button down 15 secs then actually waited 20 mins before I plugged everything back in. But mine wasn't instant, it took 30 mins before the standby light came on and I was finally able to turn on TV. But thank you SO much for this video!!
IT WORKED!!!! My power light was flashing red and my TV kept cutting on and off. I unplugged the tv. Held the power button for 15 second then released it. I then waited 30 seconds and then I plugged my TV back in and it turned right on. I was afraid I would have to buy a new one lol. Just saved a lot of money following these steps💰
Was ready to smash my TV until i found this video! Unplugged and held power button on the TV for 15 seconds. Waited 30 seconds to plug back in and turn back on and...BOOM!!! MANY MANY THANKS SIR!!!
Phew!!! Just fixed my old 32" Samsung that suddenly stopped working a few days ago for $0!!! Had a black screen of death with a steady standby light. No picture, no sound. Power cycling the TV did the trick! None of the other videos I watched (a bunch I tell 'ya) told me about holding in the power button for 15 seconds to discharge the power from the capacitors. Thanks so much for providing this valuable info!
I tried all the steps, but nothing worked. The TV squeaks like a mouse when I try to turn it on with the remote or with the power button. No sound or picture, just the internal squeak.
Your steps for troubleshooting which of the internal boards was the culprit were perfect (blank screen, but sound was good)! I replaced the T-ConBoard - nope, and then the Powersupply-board - Bingo! Also - best advice - take the back of the TV off and TAKE PICTURES to make sure you replace the board with the EXACT board (because there are different revisions, etc.). Thank you for the advice. I really did NOT want to throw out a 62" TV. Less than $100, and it's back in action. Thank you!
awesome work and very detailed. really appreciate it. unfortunately I think my TV is dead but I appreciate the work that was put into this video. Thank you!
Thank you soooo much. I just did what you suggested. Located powerbbutton, held it forb15 seconds, unplugged TV from surge protector, took plug out from back of TV and then plugged the TV directly to the wall. Also did the same with the remote. Voila! It turned on. Thanks again.
Mate you have explained your steps in fixing a black screen for a Samsung tv in a professional and easy to follow way, it was a pleasure watching your video and a big thanks to you my tv problem is fixed.
Amazing this worked for me!! Cant thank you enough ! Was about to order a new tv! Think my issue was the double plug a socket. Followed all instructions how to rest ! It worked!! Thanks again x
Thanks very much, your clear and step by step approach worked for me. Interestingly , it was switching to another power outlet that did the trick after first going through your other options - who would have thought !
Phew😅. Brand new QN85 b. Took it out the box, set it all up on the instructions It says to turn it on with the remote but nothing was happening. The red light at the bottom right of the TV was on. I had a look. Couldn't see a button but after watching your video I had another look. And yes, where the Samsung logo is on the bottom right There is a tiny little power button. and it's all good. Thank you!
Ty for this video. Yesterday I tried everything, nothing helped me. Left tv plugged in overnight & this morning hit the power button & voila! It powered on.
Mine was doing this. Before I watched your video I tried unplugging and plugging back in and pressing the power button for some seconds etc. My last resort was to give the TV a hard smack with my finger tips at the bottom right hand side next to the power button. That immediately worked. Its currently fine but If it does it again I'll try your proper approach. I really like my 50 inch Plasma Samsung and would rather fix it than replace.
Great video.... tried everything and all I get after every step is a blinking red light 6x I do not have any red light at standby more either.... my guess the PS is gone. By the way, unplugged tv waited 30 seconds and then plugged back in I did try to turn it on with the remote... again blinking light 6x TV's 5 years old I am going to buy a new one and then try to find the PS board and connect it up... from the looks of it the cost will be about 50.00 if I can get it to work... I'll put it in a guest room.. Thanks for the video... wish it had worked but that's life! Have a great day
Extremely well worded....you should teach others transparency... unfortunately out tv is shot...we may try the boards you mentioned....does any of that requires welding? We thought you was Jessie from breaking bad! Thanks
No power button to be found Samsung 7 series ru7300...update found the power button by feel under the TV in the center. I'm not sure what worked because I did it all, but it's working! Thanks!!
All good advice! I left the room and my tv was blacked out when I came back. I didn't know if the red light meant it was powered on or off. I started pushing buttons on the remote and checking all the cables and power connections. At one point I had sound but I must have changed the source with all the button pushing so now I know the red light is standby I will try the resetting again. Really frustrating just having the power button and the remote. My other TVs all have multiple buttons on the side or bottom. Looks like I'll be going to Walmart!
This was helpful in that I understand the behavior of the standby light. I've been able to determine that the TV is "on" and responding to remote inputs, but the screen is black. I just have to keep trying to turn it on and eventually the picture will come on. When I've had to do this, the volume is always at zero. Is this any kind of clue? Should I give up and just buy another TV?
In my case, if I plug and unplug the TV and hit the button it’ll eventually come on …sometimes takes five minutes. Do you think it just might be the power source cord?Thank you so much for video….
Good video. Several weeks ago there was a power outage and I noticed that after that my Samsung TV started flashing white on the left part of the monitor only but from top to bottom. The red light is not ON at all. May be possible that something bad inside but wondering if somebody had this problem before. I tried regular troubleshooting and not opening the TV yet.
Appreciate the video. My Samsung UN55NU710D is now working, but the remote is *almost* completely NOT working as the Mute button works. That's it! So, it was "completely dead" until for the 6th time I went looking for a Power Button and found "something." This TV has a single button (not mentioned in the manual) under the bottom in the middle, below the Samsung nameplate. I pressed it (after trying some of your suggestions including the Power Cycle) and Smart TV showed up. After a bit of a boot up sequence (showing me my Home icon bar but not able to choose any of them), the TV is simply on. When off (or on), there is not red LED. When back on via the hidden Power Button, I can cycle thru basic options by pressing that Power Button and, once at Source, I can then press & hold to select the next Source. Given all of this, what do you think is a probable repair? And what does T-Con stand for?
Thanks for the video, we just got this samsung smart TV in Nov 2023. It's off and the power light is blinking so I'm guessing it's the power capacitor.
Yesterday my 7 year old 50 inch samsung tv went black screen in my living room. i was taking my lunch break and decided to watch my workout videos. The screen went black had sound. Followed the same exact instructions. Failed. Now my tv cannot turn on and there is no sound. I even plugged in different outlets and checked my circuit box in the basement. No avail. I believe that something has burned inside the tv. The funny thing is that the tv in the living is barely used. This was the first time in months that i used the tv. I ordered a new samsung remote and plug and try that if that doesn't work. i can return it. I have feeling that i may need to buy a new tv when it goes on sale. Thank god I can watch tv on my phone for now.
I bought my samsung tv few days ago! Last week it arrived. I have used it couple days and it was fine. Last night when i wanted to turn it on, it didn’t work. The red light keeps flickering. None of these ways work for my tv. I have watched several youtube videos too, but nothing work. God i just bought it!
Hello, Samsung TV will not turn off...can only use power strip which also controls cable box. Replaced rear switch, BN96-35345B and tried TV and remote resets. Did not help. Any ideas.. Thanks.

Great! It's always good when you don't have to replace it!
Was ready to smash my TV until i found this video! Unplugged and held power button on the TV for 15 seconds. Waited 30 seconds to plug back in and turn back on and...BOOM!!! MANY MANY THANKS SIR!!!
So happy this worked! I was doing this but the 15 seconds and 30 seconds timing was key!
Phew!!! Just fixed my old 32" Samsung that suddenly stopped working a few days ago for $0!!! Had a black screen of death with a steady standby light. No picture, no sound. Followed the steps & found I need a new power supply. I'll price it before deciding, but now I know what's wrong thanks to this video.
Where did u buy your part?
Thank you. Plugged it in the wall directly pushed the plug hard into the back of the TV turned on! thank you
This guy is a genius! I did the power cycle and it fixed the problem,tv is back on.
Awesome!
I fixed it with a hammer and a bottle of vodka. And a trip to Costco
Exactly
Thinking the same
Thank you so much. I was getting so frustrated. Draining the power worked!
awesome work and very detailed. really appreciate it. unfortunately I think my TV is dead but I appreciate the work that was put into this video. Thank you!
Ditto

Amazing this worked for me!! Cant thank you enough ! Was about to order a new tv! Think my issue was the double plug a socket. Followed all instructions how to rest ! It worked!! Thanks again x

Thank you soooo much. Holding down the power button while unplugged did the job.
Thanks so much.Your instructions did the trick. TV came on after unplugging cord and holding in power button then switching outlets. Thanks again
Thank you so much was about to send tv in for repairs but yr skill worked God bless you
Thank you so much. Followed your steps and worked exactly how you explained. Absolutely brilliant video and saved me buying a new TV.
Thanks very much, your clear and step by step approach worked for me. Interestingly , it was switching to another power outlet that did the trick after first going through your other options - who would have thought !
Power cycling as you directed worked for me! Thanks!
