it depends on the defect of the screen, there are TVs that require more lines to cover, there are TVs that require fewer lines to cover, you must try to be successful. even if you don't cover the lines correctly, nothing happens. the only way is to try

Thank you 🙏🏾 so much for posting this repair video. This fix worked on my Samsung UN55KS8000FXZA that kept boot cycling. You saved me a lot of $, and I feel so accomplished.
I did this initially and it did not work. I knew I had a good power supply, but was not sure about the main board and led panel. I went ahead and installed a new main board and no change. I did not find any burned resistors on the led panel. Went back to scotch taping along the 2 connectors on the main board. Tried a few different sections and then all of a sudden, voila!
For anyone other there with a Samsung and who has tried almost everything, try the scotch tape method again on various sections. You may get lucky! It’s worth a shot and costs zero dollars!
SIR!! I found this tv in the dumpster outside my work, they threw it away because of this issue and I followed your instructions I just want to say THANK YOU for my free $1,400 65" TV!!! I could pay you for this video right now.
After several attempts I used a smaller piece of tape and TV is back on like new. Thanks again you are a genius 👏 🙌
Thanks a million. You just saved a very good TV from scrapping. Isolated pins 14 to 24 on the same ribbon and the tv is alive again, after collecting dust for an year.
How do I know what pins to tape

Great Video, thanks. Taping worked on my 2,5 years old gq55q60r with bootloop, after checking everything else. Narrowed it down to two pins, somewhere at 15, starting from the left on same cable as shown. However, this will be my last samsung...
Same, my tv is like 1 Year old and already it has a problem like this…
THANK YOU A THOUSAND TIMES. YOU HAVE BROUGHT ENTERTAINMENT AND JOY BACK TO THE WHOLE FAMILY. I HAVE JUST CANCELLED THE ORDER OF THE MAIN BOARD AND THE POWER SUPPLY.
To open the back, you don't need to pull the wire/long pins out. Start at the bottom edge of the TV where there's a hole at each end. Use a pry tool like he has. Start by releasing the 2 bottom corners and then run the pry tool all the way around the TV, 2 pry tools are easier. You will hear the clips pop open as you go around. It sounds like it breaks but it doesn't. Then when you need to replace it just pushes back on in seconds. I hope this helps.
Thanks, dude!
Hmm will it work on the 75
.saw the video for the 55 where it's done as you say..
I messed up my tv doing this but it works tho but it'll last until I buy new one
Thanks
So what was it that he covered? Is it important?
Thank you so much for this video. You just saved me $1200. Much appreciated! Very easy and simple steps. You are Awesome my guy 🙏🏻👏🏻🍻
I love how this video actually gives you a solution, but i would love an explanation to the solution lol. Would be great to have a understanding of this problem.
Low quality Chinese products.
I agree woth you. Also i wonder, does replacing the cable would fix the problem. Is is the big cable or the smaller ones directly into the tv that has a problem...
if you see this problem as in the video, the problem is (COF), to fix it, cover the ribbon lines as in the video. ok, but your problem may be a little different, why do you need to cover the line with less or more or another ribbon to cover the lines, this TV has two ribbons that connect the display to the main board
@RepairAllTV Hi Good night I was just watching the video and my TV have to same problem. I opened it and try to do what u did in the video and the TV came on but I'm still not seeing and pictures on the screen it's just blank can you please please help me please
for those who doesnt know what hes doing, let me explain. there are 4 lines inside the display lcd, 2 right, 2 left, one from pair of line is shorted. Thats why, tv unable to boot properly. in this case, right side were shorted. he isolate the shorted line,(skip 13, isolate 14-24) . which is same to me. i already done it and its work. thank you :D, sorry if my explaination dont include the clk,css or anything related to lcd term. i just try to make people who doesnt know about it understand the principle

Hello. what is your model? after repair is there a defect when viewing the picture?
Does it matter where you put the electrical tape
So how you know where to put the electric tape ??
What the solution?
Which strips do I cover
Just want to say a big thank you. This method works wonders and saved me money from replacing the whole LED panel which the Samsung technician suggested. Everyone is different, just got to keep trying as to which pins are causing the problem. Initially covered 10 pins and the color on the right side of the screen looks dull, so I tried to isolate the pins further. It was tough work as it took me hours. The pins were very small and it was hard to just cover one pin. Eventually, I covered about 3 pins on the right side. The result was not totally perfect as there were some faint horizontal lines, but they were not obvious at all when watching the TV from a distance with the naked eye. There was also no color issues this time and I can finally watch my TV now! Hope this helps! 😅
Im having same issue, but cant locate which pins are causing the issue, did you just try one by one? Any method I can use to better find the pin with issue?
@@The1thegodfather3 you need to keep trying through "trial and error". try covering about 10 pins at a time, starting from one side slowly moving to the other side. once you have found where the issue is, you can start to reduce the tape size to just 3 to 5 pins. Patience is key. This solution will not be perfect, but as long as it's comfortable to your eyes, you can stop.🙂
I am getting lines that change to a white center screen but still no picture. I kept moving tape. Sometimes i get blank screen.
I did covered about 10 pins from right to left. The colors in the screen were just about perfect, however, after mounting TV on the wall I noticed a back and forth brightness going to normal to lower coloring not much difference if you are not looking for that but it is happing... My guess I have to take the time again to find what pins I can covered and avoid the little small flickering of color. If I have to guess it is happing on the left side of screen if you look at it in front of you.
Any of you had the same problem?
@@DrFella-ld8zrhow did you fix it please I have the same problem
Thank you so much I was bout to buy a new TV and thankfully I ran into your video. In the beginning it didn't work because the piece of tape I was using was too big. So I made them thinner and it worked !!!!!!! Thank you !!!!
Interesting, I'll try with kapton tape as it's thinner. But I always wondered if the metal backing where the ribbons connect on the bottom were touching the display causing a short to the control lines.
5 jahre alter Samsung ue55mu7049. Genau der Fehler. Pin 14 - 24 angeklebt. Alles funktioniert wieder! Noch nicht mal der kleinste Pixel Fehler. Super! Danke!
I will say this does work however you absolutely HAVE to disassemble it the way these guys do in the video I opted to take the bezel off the front thinking the screen was held in by something else but it's not, once I fixed it I tried tilting it up like these guys do and the screen shattered since the screen costs 750$ from scamsung this tv is now trashed
Amazing! Thought my 1 year old tv was trashed, Samsung wouldn’t help. Ran across this video so it was worth a try. From the right I left 15 pins exposed and covered 10, got sound but no pic so I covered one more pin and POW everything worked! Thank so much.
Did you see any issues with your coloring on either side of the screen? That's currently my issue.
@@yonolo yes, the left side of my screen lost a bunch of color on certain channels but honestly I’m just happy I can use it. Samsung was willing to work with me on it at first but dropped my case. I was literally a day away from taking it to the dump. It makes a good spare bedroom tv.
Wish me luck I’m gonna have to try. Darn Samsung 70 inch

I found this video. I followed his steps and now the TV works. The people who threw it out have no idea what a simple fix it was.
It worked on Samsung un70nu6900f, exact same behavior, i used a strip of tape of like 5mm width, itried like 4 times starting from pin 8 from left, skipping like 3-5 pins each time.
Good Luck.
What pins did you end up covering?
Thank you very much. It really worked. Took some work to it. But 2 and half hours to save that much money. I can say thank you enough.
Edwin when I open it up it doesn’t have a left screen and right screen circuit tape. On the motherboard there is only one tape. So different than the video where he unplugged the left screen and right screen worked.
Thank you, it is working for me. I hide pin 7-10 (from the right side) and now it works at all.
If you have horizontal lines or black screen in vertical line, it is necessary to cut the tape and try which pin might be visible. If it is not working on one cable, try the second cable. At first I spent hours on the wrong side (cable).
Thanks for that video! :)
PS: That issue is caused by screen panel or ribbon or t-con board (?), it is useless to try powerboard or mainboard replacement.
this is ribbon screen problem. failed series for a short time after you buy tv. only this problem is arising.

Keep this going
Thanks and appreciate
Thank you for the hint mate, you got a new subsriber! I succesfully brought a Samsung TV (QE55Q60R) back to life. The strange thing is, that the less pins i covered with tape, the worst picture quality i got. I narrowed down the problem to pin 20-23 (same cable, same side - left as on the video), one of them is causing the bootloop issue. When i covered only these 4 pins, i got many visible missing line artifacts on the picture, so i used finally a broader tape covering 10-15 lines (from PIN 19), and picture looks almost perfect (only some greenish colouring at the edge of black and white, visible from very close distance). The result is absolutely acceptable for watching videos, TV, even computer image looks good. Otherwise this TV would go to recycling, as repair offer i got was 400 USD. If i may give you one advise - purely good intention -, please talk more or give more details, people want to know why you do exactly what you do. ;)
Hi nice to hear that it worked for you
Im trying it right now and wanted to ask if u use any specific kind of tape or if it was sticky on both sides

If still doesn't work, unplug tv and take ribbon out and continue to adjust the tape across the ribbon little by little while making sure the tape is over hanging the contact points of ribbon each time. My Samsung UN60EH6003 ended up needing the strip at the very bottom of the ribbon.
Question for you - so I did this fox and it worked perfectly at first. As we watched the tv through the night the color changed on half of the tv. It was subtle, but definitely not right! Any ideas?
@@janelloyd4268 I would maybe check the tape to make sure it didn't come off, rip apart, or move slightly over exposing the contact point of pins around it. If tape is still good and in same position maybe try moving tape over 1 pin at a time to see if that fixes it.
Hope this helps for you!

THANK YOU - I had this exact same problem on my 75" Samsung QLED TV. It took some time to get the TV apart, and I had to move my speaker box out of the way; but eventually got to the connectors. I wanted to isolate the "culprit" pins a little more, so I began experimenting with smaller pieces of tape. If you watch the guy that does "FrugalRepair"; he actually takes a similar problem and isolates it all the way down to covering just one pin with cellophane tape. I didn't have that much patience.... I only have one question about this. I didn’t use black electrical tape but regular scotch tape, which also solved my problem. Can this affect anything bad? Or is it just the same as the black tape? Thanks again for saving me my money 😋
the thing is, there is no problem, just cover the lines, that's all

Mine was the same cable but the bottom half, get one regular piece of scotch tape and a thin one and work ur way down the ends keeping track of the little pins , took me like 2 hours testing both cable strips but eventually I narrowed it down. When u narrow it down to the possible area look closely at ur screen for lines or blurriness then pin point if the tape needs to be more thick or think and its that easy
There is faint horizontal lines that is brely seen. Will thikining the tape helps ?

I habe the same problem but curious behavior. TV is in bootloop. Without mainboard backlight stays on. Without panel ribbon (only one on my GU50TU8079) TV starts completely with sound.
