4+ year old video and you're still helping fellas like me out! ordered the capacitors off Amazon, followed your instruction and fixed my TV for $6.03. Thanks very much Tampatc!
These how to videos are awesome!!! Now, as an electronics engineer with over 30 years experience in several industries including consumer video electronics, I’ll point out a very key missing point regarding the caps. The failure mode is outgassing due to overheating hence the swelling and bulging - no surprise as most know. And, true, replacement caps are easily available. But here’s what I want everyone to know and it is not being mentioned on these how to sites. The problem with the caps as you might imagine are that they are cheap, Chinese supplier go figure. The reason these caps overheat is they are as this video explains, are used to filter fluctuations on switching power supplies. so what occurs is what we call ripple currents. I will simplify Ohm’s Law by restating that voltage equals current times resistance, but what is that play in these failures is the fact that there are time varying currents i.e., the ripple currents flowing continuously through the capacitors due to the switching mode operation of the power supplies. so, now the problem with this. no electrical component has ideal properties in the real world. let’s keep it to the discussion of capacitors. capacitors have what’s called equivalent series resistance. as with the operation of space heaters we know that resistance with current flooring through it will result in heat. so overtime this ripple current flowing through the parasitic ESR of the capacitors will continuously generate heat which in turn causes the electrolytic material to outgas and eventually bulges the capacitor and it loses its capacitance characteristics. in the complement industry for electro lytic capacitors there are specialize capacitors they cost a bit more but they have very low ESR. in safety critical applications Mike automotive and dustrial and avionics it is absolutely important to select low ESR electrolytic capacitors. so, after seeing these how to saying go out and get replacement capacitors I have waited long enough to hear someone mention that the selection should be to get low ESR electrolytic capacitors. to put it in real terms I repaired our Sam song back in 2009 with low ESR electrolytic capacitors and have not had a problem since. A friend of mine did he is independent of consulting me and he had to go back in and replace them after about three years. by that time I got wind of his reoccurrence and got him some low ESR electrolytic capacitors. so my suggestion to the creators of all how to videos for this problem is to please guide people toward low ESR electrolytic capacitors and not just a garden-variety replacement. good luck off.
Hi there, what is classed as a low ESR electrolytic capacitor? Just opened up my Samsung le40n87bd as I'd thought I'd have a go at the clicking issue and the capacitors genuinely look fine.
absolutely correct 100%, for the cost difference of low ESR capacitors and a respected name you will never have to go back in. Although all of these DIY video's are fabulous this important point is never mentioned, people tend to lean toward the product that there is no built-in insurance policy with...
Awesome set of videos- Very easy to follow and I sorted my 44" TV that had been sat in my garage for a year. Cost me 59 pence for a new 1000uF capacitor and 40 minutes work. Awesome. Cannot thank you enough.Just awesome.
Hi mate it's good to see your videos again, it's a while since I repaired plasma tvs and it's great to get a refresh on doing it again, so thanks a million for your videos and great work and help. 👍
excellent job showing what your doing and what the problems can be. And please don't be mad about Samsung and capacitors, most do not have this problem, and many don't have it for a very long time. Plus its easy to fix. I've had my current tv for a good 5+ years, and only recently has it had this problem, and currently its an easy problem because without even replacing stuff you can simply blow a hair dryer in the vent of the tv to heat up the capacitors fast for the tv to work fine, The more capacitors that fail the longer the tv clicks/to warm up and come on. If you know of a local repair shop you can just take the board to them they can soder in/out new capacitors for cheap.
Your video is the BOMB. I bought a small kit that had a plethora of capacitors.I replaced 2 defective capacitors. Put TV back cover on, works perfect.Thank you for the very informative video.
Really great and informative video! I woke up to my tv clicking on and off. I was able to sort it out, at least for now, by unplugging it for a couple minutes. Still, I wanted to see if this is a common issue and plan ahead just in case. Thanks so much for a how-to that isn’t obnoxious, overly technical or boring.
THANK YOU!!!!!! Your video helped me fix my Samsung Plasma TV after a power surge. Your instructions - especially testing the standby voltage - helped me isolate the problem to the main logic board with all the inputs. Found part for $80 on ebay, installed it, and our television is now working like before! GREAT VIDEO!
Thank you for this very helpful video. I’m not very handy when it comes to things like this. But I’m going to give it a try. I just had one question that I’m hoping you could answer that may narrow down the cause of my on/off issue. My set does not click on/off immediately. I’ve been timing it and it seems to turn off than back on every 4-5 minutes. In your experience does that lead you to think it’s one issue over another? Thanks again for your helpful video!
Sub'd..great video. I have electronic s tech degree that I never get to use and live in an upper scale apartment complex where people just leave their TV's by the dumpster if they either move or have an issue with them. I think I'm up to around 4 TV's so far this year. The latest has this same issue.
Thank you for the information that I needed, because I have 2 CRT widescreen TVs that has the same problem, both TVs switch on and off randomly because they are 30 years old as in tripping, and I understood your logic because you spoke in English, that's my language, I have googled other videos about the same CRT widescreen TVs and they were foreign. The make of 2 TVs are Beko and Akura two different TVs but the same models.
This is a great channel for the DIYers. I'm currently trying to figure out what's wrong with my 60 inch Samsung that'll work fine for a while but then turns off and on,just before it turns off it get pixelated. Wondering if anyone else has the same problem
Question for u, I have Panasonic TH-50PX60U Plasma TV. It has no picture but the sound is fine. Do you think it has the same problem as Samsung TV Y-sustain board went bad? Thanks ahead of time.....
Great video: Have similar problem on a Samsung PS59D555. Clicking noise no picture. Disconnected Y and X board, still clicking... Attached Y and X and measured STB as you suggest. Should be 5.1 V. When I measure it to 5.3 V the clicking stops and the TV "boots" and the start image appears on the screen. When I remove the multimeter from then pin the picture disapear, and the clicking starts again. Suggestions? Is it mostl likely the Power supply or the Main board?
Hey Tampatec. Love the Videos, very informative. I have a Samsung UN46D6500vfxzc TV here that is doing something similar. The TV is rebooting it's self, after about 5 minutes or so. 2 things to note. 1. Before it happens, the remote stops working, as do the input keys, sometimes 30+ seconds before it reboots, ( IR and input board is connected off the main board), and 2, the clicking is cumming from the power supply relay, That maintains 5v. Everything else goes to 0 when it reboots. This tells me that something is 'telling' the TV to reboot. From what i have read, this is a very common problem with these Samsung smart TV's. There are no bulged capacitors on the PSU. Do you have any recommendations, short of replacing the PSU? Thanks !
I have a similar issue with our philips tv's, many of them all doing the same thing as this but with some differences. I wonder if it would still be the same diagnosis, I will use these tips to troubleshoot, thanks. The problem is the tv stays on just fine until you change the channel, then it freezes, picture goes into static horizontal lines for a sec then shuts down and restarts. What do you think about this.
So if you’re getting clicking coming from the power board but a fairly steady standby voltage then it is likely the logic board and definitely not the power board?
Thanks for the reply, I wonder if it is worth replacing the sustain boards, and I was confused to find a Tcon board on a plasma TV, I was not aware they had them now. It is an October 2009 unit. I guess if the sustain boards are cheap enough, it might be worth the expense. the TV was free. Any words of wisdom or videos that would pertain to this unit or one very much like it to help me a little to verify which sustain board it might be. I am a notice at testing components on boards. HELP
You should make clear whether you are talking about STDBY voltage OFF or STDBY voltage ON as I have steady voltage when the TV is off which you seem to be showing but that voltage fluctuates when ON so now this video has confused me about whether I should be focusing on the Main board or power board. By this video, it would seem that only OFF is the test for steady STDBY voltage then you automatically move to replace the Main board. Is that the correct take away from this?
I never had this issued when I had a LCD, but now I am having a power cycling issue with my newer LED, which was bought less than two years ago. Would the fix for the LCD be similar for the LED?
great videos now I have a question for you I have a 55 inch samsung 4k curve is a 3 years old and when I turning on just click and have no picture and sound do you have any idea what is the problem I really appreciate
Do you have a good source for capacitor kits? The kits on eBay don't include the one I need. Seems crazy to pay for shipping from Digikey for a single part, and in any event, they don't even seem to have the one I need 450v, 470uf, 35mm diameter max, 26mm high max, radial lead, electrolytic.
Hello Good Day. I have this kind of issue, but has a little bit difference. It has a loud sound in a Samsung UA65NU model here in the philippines but only when i turn off the tv. I already tried to replace the Power supply but the sound is still present. I also tried to replace the Main Board but still has a cracking sound. Is there a chance that the cracking sound is coming from the display itself?
Tampatec very much enjoy your vids. I have a Samsung TV 50" I think it is 50". I will not be using it as a tv. The black screen was broken. The tv was left here when we bought the house. I took out the black screen and will be using it as a light for my electronics bench in the garage. It turns on and in about 15 seconds it will turn off. Would this be the same issue you described in the video? Any help would be great. Oh it does not power on and off. When I turn it on in 15 seconds it turns off.
Hi,I have a problem with my Samsung ps50c6500 that would keep clicking and would not start I believe it's a common problem do you suggest that what you have shown in the video will be the causes ?Thanks Mr T
Oneloverecording had posted (below) to hold the power button down for 12-15 seconds to "reboot" the system. I was all set to replace boards and I tried the push and hold on the power button. Amazing, it acts like a brand new TV. I understand "rebooting" devices. Had to "reboot" my chromebook as an example. Thing is these companies don't tell you how to reboot or when it might be necessary to reboot. We live on the top of a mountain and sometimes lightening gets a little close in T-Storms. I suspect we had a close strike that made things a little wonky. Its happened here before with sensor devices, even a lightening protection device I had on my computer. After doing the 12-15 second reboot the TV is working perfectly normal. I suspect now that some people might have replaced power boards that didn't need replacing, only needed to be rebooted.
Hello first I would like to say great video. I have a LG model 60px950 and the problem is when I power up the t.v. I have a black screen and no sound. So I tired to bring up the menu with the remote and the only thing that happens is that the light flashes on the bottom right corner. So I see that it's doing something but still no picture or sound. I removed the back panel and check the fuses and the caps but they all check out good and the rest of the boards so no signs of damage. So any suggestion would be appreciated.
Hi, please can you advise? I have a Samsung Smart TV which comes on with picture and sound then will turn off and come back on, on a different channel. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in anticipation. Regards, Brian
WHAT do I need for Samsung model-LN40A500T1FXZA...line thru middle with inverted picture( as above so below) so to speak..a light tap used to fix it!! Is there a replacement board from shop Jimmy for this?? I really appreciate your videos!! I have a video out as well- VW42LFHDTV1OA hummed then went completely out! Plus HDMI port out! Any help appreciated!
I have good standby voltage all the time so I ordered a main board from ebay. The board was tested to be good. I'm still getting the clicking on and off. Could the power supply board be bad, even though the standby voltage is good all the time?
video was great so I have 1 question you know sometimes you can go back with a capacitor that is larger than the one that comes out. how do you decide what is to large for that capacitor before it starts to damage the board?thanks
I found a quick fix that helps for a short period and thats to hold down the power on button on the tv for about 12-15 seconds and it will boot into shop mode.
Hello thanks for the information can u help me I have a Samsung led HD TV when I turn it on the picture and everything works fine it then flickers and gos off I've opened the back and where the capacitors are there's a buzzing sound coming from that area would it be bad capacitors thank you for reading
Hey hey! :-). I have a Samsung Smart 3D tv model un46f6400 that power cycles, won't stay turned on. Power supply when unplugged from mainboard, works fine, lights up backlights n all. Plug mainboard back in, cycles with 5 flashes. T-con, plugged or unplugged makes no difference. I did check the cable that runs from the power supply to the mainboard and it's fine. In my head, this all tells me it's the mainboard? Or is that too obvious and it can still be something else?
Hello I have a question about my tv If you can help me please! I have 65 inch curved Samsung LED TV screen is brokered and also the power is getting on and off What is your suggestion about this!? can I fix it can!? If I order a screen in all other parts?
Samsung doesn't sell screens to customers as I know but maybe a samsung authorized service center can get one. Tv is going on off because your tv screen is broke.
Hey Paul, I have a weird issue here. I have a samsung un50nu6900fxza and it was working great until it just started switching on and off. The standby light kept flickering. So I went to lift the tv up then realized it stayed on. After a little troubleshooting I realized that if I disconnected the ir sensor the tv stays on. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Tampatec, I'm replacing my capacitors however I have a capacitor 35v/1500uF but my capacitor kit that was delivered doesn't have 1500uF can I up the uF?
Hi, i have a samsung plasma, Yesterday night it turned off by its self and it's standby light like keep turning on and off ever since.. it is as if you are holding the remote control and keep pressing the power button in order to the TV on and off. what do you think is the problem ?
Hey man I have a Samsung UM55ES7500Fand I swapped my power supply board and the Tv turns on.. But the power plug inet faces straight out and makes It so the back tv panel doesn't close.. All my Capacitors look good to me.. and just clicks.. with old board.. Can you show what I should swzp from the board I got..?? My original was a BN4400523A and the sent me a BN4400521A...
My Samsung UN58H5202AF isn't really clicking on and off but it appears to be stuck in a reboot loop. I will turn it on and see the Smart Tv logo but then after a minute or two it reboots again. It also gets to a point were the remote is non responsive as well. If I want to change the input source or try pulling up the menu I have to do it right away. However, the screen usually goes a bit garbled and then shortly after reboots. I called Samsung but it was 16 days past it's 1 year warranty so they won't help me. It's a tv in a room where we hardly watch tv so it seriously only has like 40 hours of watch time on it. Should I just try a shotgun approach and order the repair kit for $59.95 from shopjimmy? I do know how to solder and change capacitors etc... if there is a cheaper and easier solution. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated. Thanks! Robert
Mate could you tell me if i measure voltage on power supply board and in the information shows me 5v and I've got 5.35 v is it correct? The same is on 13v . I've got 12.76v. Does it mean that I've got to change power supply board? Please
Really appreciate your videos. I need help. I opened up my Samsung expecting to see bad capacitors, but they are fine. problems first started with the dvd player not working using the side inlets, then it didn't work pluging them in the back. All of a sudden we had to deal with a loud, long ringing beep with static for a picture before it would clear to normal. Then it started turning off and on, with the noise and static. I still have a standby light so I am hoping it is fixable. please help.
I have a Magnavox. After it gets warm. ( Maybe fifteen minutes ) it shuts off, for about one minute. And turns back on. ( Repeatedly ). Is this the problem indentifyed. With your Samsung video ?
the IC your looking at arround @4:10 is the flash storage. that shouldnt be hot, if so, some datalines or the powerplanes are bad. what might be misleading is that commonly with these board is that they will have had a sticker on the flashrom, nand or eeproms to note wich version they istalled. due to age and surrounding heat, the glue will nolonger work and the actual paper will seperate from the glue. leaving a nasty looking nand/flash chip, but maybe perfectly working Yeah, if the boards dead, replacing it would be the quickest and easiest way. if the cpu/SoC is dead, yeah then the nand wont be read and nothing apears on the screen ;)
Great in informative video👍 my standby light is on so I think it's a capacitors like you said, and I was wanting to know if you have a video to change out/replace the WiFi ,as mine isn't seeing the router? Thank you
How do I now which composter to get or the main logic board? Can we rent that device you used to check the volatage? Please help my Samsung is an 08 year & has stand by light & clicking noise please help
Hello, I have a samsung tv ln52a750r1f, it turns on for a few seconds then off for another seconds and same thing all over and over, I already change the capacitors all of them but the problem continues. Do you think it's the main board?
THANK YOU! Video and Website solved it! Put in the new power board and good to go. Probably could have changed the capacitors for cheaper, but the board was easier!
Hoping to find an answer to a really strange problem. I have a Samsung UN60F7100AF from 2013. It turns on, no problem. When I connect a "source", like an Amazon fire stick, the Amazon logo comes on the screen, like normal, but then after the boot logo disappears, the "source" (indicator of which source your set to), drops down from the upper left of the screen like I just connected a new source. Then it starts the blinking again. I've reset the TV, reset the picture, unplugged and let sit for an entire day, tried different HDMI cables, tried different Fire sticks but the same thing happens. This issue isn't the auto darkening feature that the TV has either. If I test the picture using support, the picture is loaded and looks absolutely fine. If I use the smart TV app feature, the picture doesn't blink. So I'm convinced it has something to do with the board that the HDMI ports are connected to. I just don't know what that is called. Any suggestions? The screen then gets bright then goes dark and continues to do that over and over every 2 or so seconds (we'll call it "blinking" from here on)
It could be HDMI issue on the main logic board ( get TV boards at TVpartsToday.com or ShopJimmy.com ) if it only happens with the fire TV stick then use a different power adapter for the fire TV stick.
I have tried 2 things with my clicking Samsung.... I replaced two capacitors... but it still clicks...The original capacitors looked perfect...no bulges I contacted your suggested company and got a replacement board....installed it and it still clicks. I need help to resolve this issue. What do you suggest I try next????
I have a TCL LE55FHDF3300ZTAAA My TV started turning itself off from time to time, then more frequenlty sometimes it would sit a hour or so and then it would work again, then recently a day or so and it would work for a while. when it turns off standby light always comes on. When it does work the picture is always clear no lines or distortion. I've seen this model TV also in a Sanyo with the same boards. Any help if it is the T-con or the mainboard? or at least which one I can try 1st
Hi my tv makes a humming noise which comes on for a few seconds then goes off again, and then starts making the humming noise again any ideas mate thanks
@@DavidALovingMPF102 Mine had a short somewhere in the power supply board which I couldn't find, but a new board was $40 and it's been working great for three years now.
My Samsung is powering on/off over and over again (out of the blue). Sometimes at the top left of the screen, it says "HDMI No Time Information". Due to the quick on/off or rebooting it's doing, there is no way to get to settings or input. I'm trying to open the Samsung TV case and it's stuck in one area and I'm afraid it will break if I continue. Thanks for any help!
Hey i also own a Samsung TV and it is Clicking but my Standby voltage is supposed to be 6v. My Voltage is going up to 12v and then down to 6v again. Is this caused by the Power Supply?
Your video said, "if you don't have a red light on your TV, you either have a bad powerboard, or a bad main logic board". My red light blinks twice, then goes out and stays out, then I hear a double "on, off" click every 22 seconds. Is this a capacitor, or could it still be a bad powerboard or bad main logic board? Thank you.
Hi cheers for the video I have a Samsung le40r74bd doing the exact same thing but I'm.out of knowledge and ability haha what fixed this one? Capacitors seem ok although not tested with a meter. Standby light on turns on with image then goes off straight away...HELP please....any help appreciated mate
I have a Samsung UN55B8500XF, the TV would not turn on and all you can hear is clicking, all the capacitors look intact, no bulging or burn marks of any kind, how would you go about it?
What do you look for if there is no stb or standby indication? Just a list of 13v , grd ( which seem to be ground) , od on/off, ps on/off and blue on/off.
Good video but having watched it and done some tests on my Samsung UE40D5520 (which yesterday went into a continuous reboot loop) I have a query: If I disconnect the cable between the power board and the main board I get good stable continuous voltages on the 5V and 13V outputs. However, when I reconnect the two boards together I get cycles of voltage drops to zero on 5V and 13V pins. So...... my question is...... would it be the power board or main board at fault? The power board capacitors all "look" OK - and are mostly glued quite firmly in place, and there are no signs of heat damage on the main board chips. What say you?
I have the same thing happening and the same question. Can't get it. My clicking is coming from a regulator which could mean the MOSFET needs replacing. Have you looked into that?
Hi I think your videos are very informative and great for the home diyers but I cannot find the answer to my problem , I have a samsung LE40R88BDX/XEU with a switching on and off cycle ,I replaced the capacitors ( larger voltage on all ) didn't work so bought another mains board ,which was all tested etc ,still didnot work still clicking on and off for ages before coming on but has a great picture when it does and stays on , I tested standby voltage and got a reading of 13volts when on but dropped quickly to 2volts and back up to 13volts , when I pressed the standby button at the side it dropped completely to 0 could you advice me of what it could possibly be as it is a used board but company says it was tested and working , was going to try another logic board to see if that was the problem ? I am at the point of pulling my hair out ( and I not got a lot left ) so can you please help Regards Rob Gray (UK)
that can be bad caps on main board or power board 100uf, 470uf, 680uf, 1000uf, 2200uf, 3300uf 10v 16v 25v 35v. also can be bad voltage regulator on power board. hope this helps, my amazon store is on my home channel.
Thanks for your rapid reply , the power board should be ok because it was tested by the company and they guarantee their work so I think I will just get another main board ,I have just taken it off the TV and it seems to have what I can only recognize as water marks like as if it was either wet or damp so maybe this could be adding to the problem , is the 13volts ok or should it be less ,because I would not like to break another board . Once again thank you very much for your advice and keep up the great work.
Is tested all my capacitors and they were good. I even replaced two that appeared suspect as well. My TV still clicks on and off, any suggestions? Thanks.
Hello, I have the same problem with my Samsung UE46C6000. The powerlight is binking on and off , also i hear Clicking and its coming from the Powersupply. The capacitors seems to be good! No bulb or leaking ones! What do i have to do to fix it?? Please help! Greats
I changed the capacitors and the stand by power is still fluctuating while clicking, should I change the voltage regulators now or go to the logic board.
Hey there, do you have a local phone number to call to troubleshoot? I've taken apart my Samsung HP-S4253X/XAA. No capacitors are blown upon visual. Fuses look ok. The actual clicking sound, which no one actually mentions, is coming from the Power Board, specifically a MOSFET on one of the voltage regulator. Does that mean since the sound is there that that's where the issue is? Or is it cutting off there by design? The clicking sound, however, doesn't appear until I plug in the Main board though. So, what the next thing in troubleshooting? (Couldn't get anything from my multimeter although I don't have those fine tips.) Thanks man.
Try the reboot suggestion. I was getting the clicking sound and TV wouldn't turn on. Works fine after holding the power button down for 12-15 seconds. Did it twice to make sure it was working. Blew me away when the TV turned on in a normal manner, no sitting there with nothing happening except making clicking noises.
Noticed all the caps in that area on my power board are burnt and bulged up, if I replace them all this will fix my issue right cause I still have a standby light sound picture it just turns itself off and on again every 30 seconds
Great video. I recently acquired a Samsung FP-T5084. The person who gave it to me said it wouldn't turn on and had clicking. So I took it apart and replaced the four capacitors that are known to fail. I double checked to make sure polarity was right, plugged back in. Clicking started, and then I had smoke from the power board. Any ideas why?
Thanks bro I have a 55 inch Samsung and when I hit the power button the blue light by the switch flashes on a relay clicks and the light goes out. I found a bad capacitor and fuse on power board , replaced them and still does the same . When I remove the logic board connector from the power board And plug it in to wall outlet , I can hear the tv relay click and when the logic board is connected at plug in the relay does not click. I believe there's a short on the logic board ..
4+ year old video and you're still helping fellas like me out! ordered the capacitors off Amazon, followed your instruction and fixed my TV for $6.03. Thanks very much Tampatc!

From where did you get the spare parts?
Hi mate it's good to see your videos again, it's a while since I repaired plasma tvs and it's great to get a refresh on doing it again, so thanks a million for your videos and great work and help. 👍
excellent job showing what your doing and what the problems can be. And please don't be mad about Samsung and capacitors, most do not have this problem, and many don't have it for a very long time. Jefe, do u no wat eet MEEENS to haf a plethora of capaseeetors??
Great Job!!! If ever there was a perfect video to solve my problem this is the one ☝️ Thanks Big Time ✌️
Really great and informative video!
I love all your repair stuff.I archive you and a couple of others. It is a great reference for trouble shooting.
Thank you.
Love your videos Sir all information with no bull
Thank you for what you do and everything you have done and your contribution to RUclips and thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for this helpful tutorial. I'm having this exact problem with a Samsung TV right now. I'll try changing the capacitors first.
This is a great channel for the DIYers. I'm currently trying to figure out what's wrong with my 60 inch Samsung that'll work fine for a while but then turns off and on,just before it turns off it get pixelated. Wondering if anyone else has the same problem
You are very good at sharing/teaching this level of info. Thx!
Great video! No drinks near the electronics!!
I loved your video! Is is safe to assume that this info is applicable to Samsung Plasma C7000 series?
Question for u, I have Panasonic TH-50PX60U Plasma TV. It has no picture but the sound is fine. Do you think it has the same problem as Samsung TV Y-sustain board went bad? Thanks ahead of time.....
Thanks Tampa Tec your a good man
Great video: Have similar problem on a Samsung PS59D555.
Thanks for this tutorial it as been real helpful to me
Hey Tampatec. Thanks !
Great video, clear step by step explanations.
Would the fix for the LCD be similar for the LED?
i will try this method on my tv... tnxz for making this video...
great videos now I have a question for you
I have a 55 inch samsung 4k curve is a 3 years old and when I turning on just click and have no picture and sound do you have any idea what is the problem I really appreciate
Hi m8 thank you I looked at your video and ordered a replacement power board. All working after replacement.
Excellent repair tutorial!
I am following your video to repair my 32" TV , it is OK . thank you very much !!!!
Check your link for parts for my Samsung UN40FH6030, but all parts were out of stock. Do you have another source I could check?
Hello Tampatec, do you still have your Samsung HT-D5500 home theater system ? is it good and loud ?
+2075yr not any more.
***** Did you store it away or did you get another home theater system ? And if you did get another one, which new system did you get ?
Awesome instructions....thank you so much.
sure thing thx 4 watching
video was great so I have 1 question you know sometimes you can go back with a capacitor that is larger than the one that comes out. how do you decide what is to large for that capacitor before it starts to damage the board?thanks
I found a quick fix that helps for a short period and thats to hold down the power on button on the tv for about 12-15 seconds and it will boot into shop mode.
Then what?
WOW it worked for me. Like a brand new TV.
So what your saying is Samsung have incorperated a MAJIC button.....Wow!

Hello
I have a question about my tv
If you can help me please!
I have 65 inch curved Samsung LED TV screen is brokered and also the power is getting on and off
What is your suggestion about this!? can I fix it can!? If I order a screen in all other parts?
Samsung doesn't sell screens to customers as I know but maybe a samsung authorized service center can get one. Tv is going on off because your tv screen is broke.
@@TampaTec
First of all thank you so much for replying me so fast
So if I can find a screen for it, you think it will solve the problem?
Hey Paul, I have a weird issue here. I have a samsung un50nu6900fxza and it was working great until it just started switching on and off. The standby light kept flickering. So I went to lift the tv up then realized it stayed on. After a little troubleshooting I realized that if I disconnected the ir sensor the tv stays on. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Is it the same for plasma tv? I have an lg42pj350-ta.. it clicks but dont start up. Has standby voltage 5v. But it doesnt load the screen.
Tampatec, I'm replacing my capacitors however I have a capacitor 35v/1500uF but my capacitor kit that was delivered doesn't have 1500uF can I up the uF?
Hi, i have a samsung plasma, Yesterday night it turned off by its self and it's standby light like keep turning on and off ever since.. it is as if you are holding the remote control and keep pressing the power button in order to the TV on and off. what do you think is the problem ?
i love your channel
I have q7f 55 and its flickering on off and what should I DO and how much it would cost me? And can you specify the expected defects?
Hey man I have a Samsung UM55ES7500Fand I swapped my power supply board and the Tv turns on.. But the power plug inet faces straight out and makes It so the back tv panel doesn't close.. All my Capacitors look good to me.. and just clicks.. with old board.. Can you show what I should swzp from the board I got..?? My original was a BN4400523A and the sent me a BN4400521A...
thanks ; i like your videos , very interesting
Please
Nicely explained, thanks for sharing!

With your Samsung video ?
the IC your looking at arround @4:10 is the flash storage. that shouldnt be hot, if so, some datalines or the powerplanes are bad. what might be misleading is that commonly with these board is that they will have had a sticker on the flashrom, nand or eeproms to note wich version they istalled. due to age and surrounding heat, the glue will nolonger work and the actual paper will seperate from the glue. leaving a nasty looking nand/flash chip, but maybe perfectly working
Yeah, if the boards dead, replacing it would be the quickest and easiest way. if the cpu/SoC is dead, yeah then the nand wont be read and nothing apears on the screen ;)
Did you check the capacitors with a capacitance checker ? Just wondering
I think my capacitors are on the way out. Suddenly lose power randomly and clicking on and off with the flashing standby light. Thanks for the vid!!
Elizabeth Kuhn awesome congrats 👏👏👏👍
I replaced two capacitors... but it still clicks...The original capacitors looked perfect...no bulges
I contacted your suggested company and got a replacement board....installed it and it still clicks.
Thanks for this. I hope my problem is just the caps or regulators...
I changed caps with no fix..re-seated a connector. good for 3 months now.
You still answering questions? I've got a Samsung PN42C450B1D plasma that's still giving me issues after replacing the Y and X boards :/
Standby light on turns on with image then goes off straight away...HELP please....any help appreciated mate
hello mr tamtec greetings from the netherlands mine samsung tv T460FBE1-DB WONT TURN on can you give me some directions where i can search.
thnx
Excellent video!
Hi
I think your videos are very informative and great for the home diyers but I cannot find the answer to my problem , I have a samsung LE40R88BDX/XEU with a switching on and off cycle ,I replaced the capacitors ( larger voltage on all ) didn't work so bought another mains board ,which was all tested etc ,still didnot work still clicking on and off for ages before coming on but has a great picture when it does and stays on , I tested standby voltage and got a reading of 13volts when on but dropped quickly to 2volts and back up to 13volts , when I pressed the standby button at the side it dropped completely to 0 could you advice me of what it could possibly be as it is a used board but company says it was tested and working , was going to try another logic board to see if that was the problem ?
I am at the point of pulling my hair out ( and I not got a lot left ) so can you please help
Regards
Rob Gray (UK)
that can be bad caps on main board or power board 100uf, 470uf, 680uf, 1000uf, 2200uf, 3300uf 10v 16v 25v 35v. also can be bad voltage regulator on power board. hope this helps, my amazon store is on my home channel.

Thanks.
Can you help me? Samsung TV keeps turning off/on? Can you fix it virtual by instructing me?
Hello,
I have the same problem with my Samsung UE46C6000.
(Couldn't get anything from my multimeter although I don't have those fine tips.)
Thanks man.
Do u do any repair’s
Great video. I recently acquired a Samsung FP-T5084. The person who gave it to me said it wouldn't turn on and had clicking. So I took it apart and replaced the four capacitors that are known to fail. I double checked to make sure polarity was right, plugged back in. Clicking started, and then I had smoke from the power board.
Any ideas why?
Thanks bro I have a 55 inch Samsung and when I hit the power button the blue light by the switch flashes on a relay clicks and the light goes out. I found a bad capacitor and fuse on power board , replaced them and still does the same . When I remove the logic board connector from the power board
And plug it in to wall outlet , I can hear the tv relay click and when the logic board is connected at plug in the relay does not click. I believe there's a short on the logic board ..
Please be careful!! You can still get shocked by the capacitors even when the TV is unplugged!!! Only a trained technician should be doing this.
