Great video! I'd never thought in a million years I could repair a 10 year old plasma TV. I had the same problem as described here AND the same model number which made it seem very doable. Nice step by step instruction on how to identify the problem. For me, it turned out to be an issue with the X panel. Found a replacement on eBay for $22 and swapped it out. The trickiest part was figuring out how the connectors worked. Thanks Farm Dad!
Love hearing this!
This the best video I've seen on troubleshooting a TV. You give such a great explanation and made it simple for us to understand. Thanks for the video! Subscribed!
Glad to hear it! I appreciate you!
Through the process of elimination this turned out to be a very inexpensive fix. Thanks for sharing brother.
Thank you so much for posting this video!!! I've had my Samsung for 10 years, and the picture is still great, but a couple of months ago, the clicking started and I thought I was going to have to throw it away. Thinking I had no other option but to buy a new TV, I took a trip to Best Buy.... oh my gosh, the new TVs with high refresh rates are so expensive!! I was so happy when I came across this video. I found the board I needed on Ebay, plugged it in last night, and it worked like a charm. I have a great TV for $26. Thank you Farm Dad!
I am so glad this saved your tv from ending up in the trash. They are good tvs.
Have to say you did awesome man. I have a similar Samsung TV with the glass on it. First Gen LED TV still amazing picture. Set the TV aside for a few years and then saw your video. I’m waiting for a board from EBay now. Spent hours and taping the pins like I’ve seen in other videos. Got audio but no video. Thanks man great explanation on everything. A++.
Glad it helped! I like hearing that an old TV is getting brought back to life.
Nice to see you diversify your content
Hey, thank you so much for this video. My Samsung stopped turning on more than 1 year ago and I leave this problem as is. But yesterday I've decided try to fix it, and WOW - your video helped me, honestly, I don't know how :) I just follow your instruction, remove and insert back all cables and boom: TV is working now:)
Appreciate it! With love from Russia :)
С Уважением и наиличшими пожеланиями.
Glad you got it working!
I'm so glad I found this video. Thank you for posting it! I have the same exact TV with the same problem. It was sitting in my garage for over a year. Glad I didn't throw it out.
That's a good tv. Glad you found me. 👍
It was more than likely one of those small transistors. Just as easy to test just as easy to replace. Good video either way.
Great video! You made it all seem so simple. Love your video style.
Thanks so much. I hope it got you fixed up!
Dude, you are the kind of guy I would be happy to hang out with. I believe we should at least try to fix things as opposed to throwing them in a landfill. I subscribed and will be looking for more content in the future. Thanks.
Thank you! I agree completely about fixing things.
@@FarmDad Turned out the grounding screws had worked loose I tightened them and the TV came on perfectly! I never would have known!
@@CharlesNolanArt that's a good thing to check. Nicely done!
Hey, great video. You save me a lot of money, had the same problem
Genius work man! Will be tackling this soon 👊🏻
Thanks! Hope this helps get you all fixed up.
Thanks man.Great video!!
Glad it helped!
Nice work Dad !
Good luck on your endeavors pap pap. Thanks for the informative vidya
Appreciate you
Great video and I liked your technique into eliminating the boards to find the issue
Thanks so much! Hope you get your tv straightened out quickly.
@@FarmDad Thanks… it’s the Tcon board I ordered it just waiting now. Blessings brother.
Dude you know your stuff. I saw your video earlier and had the same problem so I bought the soldering tools and everything worked out. I couldn’t believe it. This saved me a lot of money thank you. Farm dad!
Glad to save you some hard earned cash!
very good video thank you sir
Thanks, you're welcome!
Thanks again for posting brother! In my case, as soon as I plug in the main board, the click is there, so I don't get to test the logic controller or the Y or X boards. So that said, I never hear the chime that's on your video. So my assumption is that main board is bad. Does that sound right to you? Thanks for your help!
Great Video Farm Dad, glad I found it. Looking at other videos thought I had to change the power board, but you went thru a great process of checking each board.
Found out my TV clicking issues is the same board that needs to be replaced as your issue. Question though how do I disconnect wide white band of wires that goes to
the logic control board from the Y-main board. Thanks
Been awhile since I've worked on one of these. Are you able to pull back on a plastic lock to release it?
@@FarmDad thanks for this. I wasn't sure what to do in the first place. I did gently pull back from the Y board and it detached, thanks again great stuff
Thank u so so so so so so much sir
You are very welcome!
I need your help in locating what area I may need to check on my power supply board. I have no power going out to light up the backlights. The backlights do work. I used another power supply board from another tv and hooked the backlight connector to it and the backlights came on. I had 2 power boards hooked up at the same time and the tv worked fine. My Power supply board is bn44-00775a
Help help help help please!!!!! Thanks
What is the board name that has those black heat sinks and the capacitors you checked?
Why does my Samsung 55" plasma TV turn on but then a sound comes on like a blowing sound why? Can it be fix?
U deserve 2M subscribers.....this is very useful information
Hopefully one day! I appreciate you.
My TV makes no clicking sounds when I put power on, the main board green light flashes 3 time and nothing there after. Did all the boards individually but nothing at all and no burn spots on boards ..?
What are the medium sized blue things? I replaced 2 blown capacitors and found one of those blue things blown up lol.
Mannnn i cannot believe i have same tv but my had lines black in top part of display so i try to solder all components and left side that flat connectors becouse ladt 2 at top are for light but .... what you think how to repair that
I removed both ysus and zsus power cable from the power board still clicking sound. Does this mean i have a faulty power board ???
Thank you for your video on testing the boards after plugging in each one, one by one to test as I've tested the capacitors on the power board on my Samsung tv which keeps switching its self off and when you put your hand on the top of the TV it its very hot. I'm in Great Britain by the way. Hope you're farm and family is coming on well. Take care
Most welcome, mate! I have been to Britain once and loved it. Amazing place with good people! I have a friend from there that's moving back at the end of the summer. Hope to visit again.
I have a Panasonic 60” plasma from 2012 it stopped turning on. When you plug the power cord in you can hear it click once then it will click a second time right after but won’t turn on. Seems like the power is clicking off right after you plug it in. Any suggestions ?
Your information is excellent 👌 thank you
I appreciate you.
Hi I dont know what to do, My TV still turns on but it is making a hissing sound coming from the Y board.
Do u knw where can I get a lvds cable for a Samsung 42 inch TV to buy
No, sir. I don't.
Also check your solder joints amd look for some that have gone high resistance
Thanks for the tip.
Unplugged all then replacing one after the other as you demonsted and works well untill i plugged the one that gets power from the Y board and the clicking starts how do i solve this
I've replaced the power board and the main Y board but still have the clicking. Both were new boards. Any suggestions for next steps?
Hi there, do you happen to found the solution?
@@syahirahkm551 no I haven’t. I believe the problem is in the connection directly to the plasma screen.
@@doncoughlin1228 thank you for updating. i also replaced my Y main board but still have clicking
@@syahirahkm551 Everything I've read and seen said that if the clicking continues, it may be a problem with the board connection to the actual plasma screen. Those are integrated and not a component that I can easily replace. I am about to just toss it; it is 10 years old and I've been very happy with the Samsung so I'm looking for a new 50"-plus Samsung. I wish I could afford the OLED series...
@@doncoughlin1228 thank you for your sharing. I also considering to buy a new one if this TV cannot be fixed. Just trying my luck
I realize video is 3 years old but when you had an issue, did the red "power" light blink twice in a row a few times then go steady, then repeat the process? I am having that issue with my 60" Samsung plasma. Some other videos say it is the power board. Before I order another (as they are all used these days), I wanted to see if you had the same blinking light issue. If you did, I will have to do some more testing like you did, to confirm which board is bad. Thank you
Afraid I can't remember now. Apologies.
@@FarmDad No worries. I figured out the the "Y" board has issues using you test method. You saved me about $80 right there as I was about to change the power board. I found another video which has the same model as I have with the same issue. I think this is what I how I will attempt the repair. Thanks again. ruclips.net/video/gpkR1jk6Bro/видео.html
we need more tv repair men now adays instead of them being tossed away after warranty. hard to find one in my area thats actually qualifed
Agreed. We've become a throwaway society.
I plugged in my power board nothing happened and when I plugged in my main board the front light came on. So do I need go ahead or just check the power board.
cracked solder joint??
My then 2011 top of the range LG Plasma TV finally failed yesterday (nearly 13 years daily operation). I want to try to fix it. Here are the symptoms: about four days ago the TV just switched itself off. When I turned it on there was no screen. I tried to get it going but I could not. The red light near the switch would turn to blue and the noise of switching on was still there (and the noise of switching off). Then I switched the TV from the socket (from the plug) and waited say one hour. Then it would work but after a while switch itself off. Yesterday it worked all day and then suddenly at night it switched itself off. No effort at getting it to go back on gave results. I remember we switched it off for an hour from the socket (from the plug on the wall) and then it came back but only for 5 minutes and switched itself off. So we played some card games to pass the time last night. This morning at 7 am I went down and switched the plug and then it went on and I was watching TV as normal. Then after 5 minutes or so it cut out again and I could not bring it back. What do you think is the problem?
If you just wack that side where the board is it also will fix the issue I had the same problem and it works fine
Gotta give it the ol' Fonzarelli touch haha
If this model plasma gets a cracked screen is it toast ?
The cost to repair the TV will likely exceed cost to replace the TV.
To all the GHOST ADVENTURES fans; Peep the light anomalies at 12:46-12:47 (left-center exiting to bottom-center of the frame) & 12:51-12:52 (entering right-center frame exiting to bottom/right-center of the frame, plus TWO of em quickly appearing & exiting side-by-side top/left frame). Damn why did I ever start watching that show lol.
Well now I'm glad we moved out of that house 🤣 👻
I have a Vizio 50-inch plasma HDTV that has a lot of red on every screen throughout the entire screen
WHERE DID PURCHASE THE BOARD
Ebay
Caps on power supply
Simply IC power on the board
Is that the guy from duck dynasty? Lol
Haha

Afraid I don't have a part number list off hand.
😢 my Samsung TV making clicking sound
Hopefully you can get it fixed up now.
A lot of videos about Samsung not working well. I think I’ll exchange my tv
In general I'm not a fan of Samsung products, but other than this one problem, this TV has actually been good to us.
These are 15 year old TV’s now. I’m impressed it’s lasted this long!
