A lady my wife worked with, had young children. The lady and her husband wanted to go out for the evening till the next morning, so she had a young teenage girl come over and babysit. I believe the girl was a family, this was years ago not sure on that. The young girl came over, they gave her the bedtimes and money for pizzas, told her she could sleep in their bed they had a TV in there. Evening rolled on, the babysitter and kids ate pizza and she got them ready for bed. After getting the kids settled, she went into the parents room and turned on the TV and sat on the edge of the bed. It was a fairly good size room and thet had a chair in the corner, well sitting in the chair was what she thought was a clown dummy. After a while the parents called the house phone checking up, ( this was 20+ years ago) she went and answered. As they was talking and asking how things were going, she said everything is fine, kids are being good. Then she asked if she could throw a sheet over the clown dummy sitting in the chair, it was creeping her out. The parents told her to get the kids and get out of the house. They called the cops and the cops arrested the guy. He apparently had some real bad mental issues and was known to do messed up things. I remember when my wife came home from work and was telling me this happened, I honestly thought she was messing with me, till I met her for lunch one day and the lady told me herself. If she was acting or lying, she was damn good. She had this just terrified look to her face, she was shaking about it. I know that would just mess me up in the head, that poor babysitter was, in a bad way.
While I am attending an online class or playing a game while home alone I always keep the volume down so I can be aware of my surroundings. Being completely unaware of your surroundings is the exact reason why most robbery happens.
A lot of questions on if the intruder didn’t leave any footprints indicating he left the house, then where could he be? My theory is the intruder took his shoes off after he went in so it wouldn’t give away his point of exit. Just a thought
Ah! I see what you mean. One time I saw my best friend, Henry, stand in the doorway of the bathroom to which my little cousin was terrified. Henry is shy, and it made him sad. I don't know what happened to my little cousin, but it's alright, because Henry is better company anyways.

Exactly. Never leave your doors unlocked. However if someone breaks into my locked house....my 2 HUGE dogs will GLADLY help you leave, or not. Jus saying. Plus the 9mm on my bedside is only there for backup, I do not want to have to use it but I will not be taken in my own home. I think the person got bored or became intrigued after standing there for a bit waiting. So started to write at the door. Obviously the last few he was getting annoyed the kid hadn’t turned around. Left not killing him because the kid wasn’t giving him what he wanted. Pure fear and helplessness. Buuuut that’s my opinion.
This reminds me of a story of a father who left his front door unlocked and busy working on something and lucky the father glanced over his shoulder and caught a man holding his little child in his arms and about to walk out his front door. The father grabbed his child and the home invader fled.
I was raised in a family where all the doors were kept locked at all time. We all had our own keys which we wore on necklaces. If you forgot yours you waited for someone to answer the door or get home.
It was really the spirit of his teacher time traveling and checking up on him to be sure he wasn't lying about studying. "Look at me" is all she ever says to him in class because he's always zoned out and she feels like he needs to be jumpstarted all the time, so to speak. He never acts like he's listening. That's one scary teacher trying to cut back on classroom drama. I was a teacher. I should know.LOL
I live by myself in a very small rural town in Southern Oregon. My immediate neighborhood is mostly seniors, not including myself. I feel comfortable and relatively safe leaving my door unlocked. @@alisonj1384 - when I was in high school many many years ago, the Walkman cassette player was the fad of the time, it came out a few years earlier and a lot of kids had one.
This one kid Gary had a walkman and always had his headphones on whenever he wasnt in class. he would listen to music all of the time, he loved his Walkman and didnt go anywhere without it. Gary was a quiet cool kid and everyone who knew gary, liked him. Gary really enjoyed his music, I dont think I ever seen him without his headphones on, he always listening to music. One day during school, a group of about 5 were going to Frank's house for lunch, it was only a 7 minute walk to Franks house from school. The school was on the corner of canyon & wood rd.
As we were leaving school and getting ready to cross wood road, a van was coming from the left, we seen the van and stopped but Gary kept walking, he never looked and we yelled for him to stop but he couldn't hear us, the mirror of the van hit Gary in the head at 45 mph, killed him instantly. There was a big puddle of brain matter in the street where he died. Its something you never forget. It's one of the reasons why I never wear headphones, I like to hear everything that is happening around me.

This is TERRIFYING

I even lock my bathroom door when I’m in the shower! No way in hell I’d forget to lock my house door.

Exactly. Never leave your doors unlocked. However if someone breaks into my locked house....my 2 HUGE dogs will GLADLY help you leave, or not. Jus saying. Plus the 9mm on my bedside is only there for backup, I do not want to have to use it but I will not be taken in my own home. So someone would sadly pick the wrong house to invade if they tried it here. Seen and heard of too many bad things in my lifetime to sit back while a psycho decides my fate. Nope.

I think the person got bored or became intrigued after standing there for a bit waiting. So started to write at the door. Obviously the last few he was getting annoyed the kid hadn’t turned around. It was really the spirit of his teacher time traveling and checking up on him to be sure he wasn't lying about studying.
"Look at me" is all she ever says to him in class because he's always zoned out and she feels like he needs to be jumpstarted all the time, so to speak. He never acts like he's listening.

I live by myself in a very small rural town in Southern Oregon. My immediate neighborhood is mostly seniors, not including myself. I feel comfortable and relatively safe leaving my door unlocked. Nothing really happens in this town. However, I don't wear earbuds or headphones and I'm sensitive to my surroundings because I'm used to being the only one in my apartment. My hearing is bad but I'm positioned to always face my bedroom door. I also have difficulty focusing on things. If this had happened to me, I would have been murdered by the intruder because I would have noticed him right away.
