    • @ED-es2qv
      @ED-es2qv 2 года назад +18

No, he’s dumb enough to think he can sense people too. He just can’t. When I was a Ranger, we used to practice sentry removal techniques, and early in training there’s a sizable number of people who believe that nonsense. It gets proven over and over that nobody has that sense, and avoiding looking makes no difference.
People can hear or smell clues and become alert, sometimes without knowing what clue they had.
But no, people aren’t psychic, just superstitious.

I met a lady several years ago and I happened to notice she had these big linear scars on her scalp. One day I asked her about it. She told me that one night years earlier she woke up to a terrible headache. She stumbled into the bathroom and caught sight of herself in the mirror covered in blood but couldn't make sense of it.
The cops say someone came into the home and whacked her 6 times with an axe. But nothing was stolen, she wasn't sexually assaulted, and her grandmother was left unharmed and heard nothing. They never caught the person responsible.

One time I was home alone doing exactly this, writing a paper. My desk faced away from my door, and it hadn’t bothered me before. This day though, I was feeling really strange and was hyper aware of my back to the open door. While writing I heard a loud noise, like something falling from a shelf. I immediately jumped up and began to search my house, checking doors and windows as I went. I heard creaks from the floor, but when I went to look nothing was there. There was no one and I couldn’t find whatever had fallen. It freaked me out, and I ended up rearranged half my room so I could see the door.

Edit: No, the person was not caught. I only saw his shadow/silhouette and nobody believed me at first that someone was inside the house. My grandmother was the only person in that area of the house and she got to my room and I pulled her into my room, closed the door and put a chair to hold the door closed. We spent 3 hours waiting for daylight and she only believed me when I opened the door and we went to her room and it was a big mess. The thieve registered everything while we were in my room.

Dude, I had something like this happen to me. It was the 70s. I was 8 or 9 at the time. It was just me and my mom. I woke up to a man trying to pry my window open. I was so terrified I couldn't scream out. I rolled againt the wall out of his view and after a while he gave up and left. Not even a week later I was on a field trip with an after school program. We were at a local park when one of the girls decided she wanted to go home and ran off before the adults could stop her. She was found assaulted and dead in a creek near the park. She lived behind me on the same block. Turns out the guy who did it also lived on the same block as we did. I'm pretty sure it was the same guy who was trying to get in my bedroom window. I've always wondered if I had been able to scream that night and the police had caught him. Would the girl he killed still be alive?

@@alisonj1384 - when I was in high school many many years ago, the Walkman cassette player was the fad of the time, it came out a few years earlier and a lot of kids had one.
This one kid Gary had a walkman and always had his headphones on whenever he wasnt in class. he would listen to music all of the time, he loved his Walkman and didnt go anywhere without it. Gary was a quiet cool kid and everyone who knew gary, liked him. Gary really enjoyed his music, I dont think I ever seen him without his headphones on, he always listening to music. One day during school, a group of about 5 were going to Frank's house for lunch, it was only a 7 minute walk to Franks house from school. The school was on the corner of canyon & wood rd.
As we were leaving school and getting ready to cross wood road, a van was coming from the left, we seen the van and stopped but Gary kept walking, he never looked and we yelled for him to stop but he couldn't hear us, the mirror of the van hit Gary in the head at 45 mph, killed him instantly. There was a big puddle of brain matter in the street where he died. Its something you never forget. It's one of the reasons why I never wear headphones, I like to hear everything that is happening around me.

A lady my wife worked with, had young children. The lady and her husband wanted to go out for the evening till the next morning, so she had a young teenage girl come over and babysit. I believe the girl was a family, this was years ago not sure on that.
The young girl came over, they gave her the bedtimes and money for pizzas, told her she could sleep in their bed they had a TV in there.
Evening rolled on, the babysitter and kids ate pizza and she got them ready for bed. After getting the kids settled, she went into the parents room and turned on the TV and sat on the edge of the bed. It was a fairly good size room and thet had a chair in the corner, well sitting in the chair was what she thought was a clown dummy. After a while the parents called the house phone checking up, ( this was 20+ years ago) she went and answered. As they was talking and asking how things were going, she said everything is fine, kids are being good. Then she asked if she could throw a sheet over the clown dummy sitting in the chair, it was creeping her out. The parents told her to get the kids and get out of the house.
They called the cops and the cops arrested the guy. He apparently had some real bad mental issues and was known to do messed up things.
I remember when my wife came home from work and was telling me this happened, I honestly thought she was messing with me, till I met her for lunch one day and the lady told me herself. If she was acting or lying, she was damn good. She had this just terrified look to her face, she was shaking about it. I know that would just mess me up in the head, that poor babysitter was, in a bad way.

I think the person got bored or became intrigued after standing there for a bit waiting. So started to write at the door. Obviously the last few he was getting annoyed the kid hadn’t turned around. Left not killing him because the kid wasn’t giving him what he wanted. Pure fear and helplessness. Buuuut that’s my opinion.

I was raised in a family where all the doors were kept locked at all time. We all had our own keys which we wore on necklaces. If you forgot yours you waited for someone to answer the door or get home.

I remember in Navy Bootcamp, you would get punished for not locking your locker. Lock anything lockable no matter how "safe" the neighborhood is. 🕵

I was told to always leave one ear out. I'm always listening and I'm a light sleeper. Cause sometimes things can happen to someone you love at home. My great grandmother died from a heart attack cause her husband heard a thud and didn't check

I live by myself in a very small rural town in Southern Oregon. My immediate neighborhood is mostly seniors, not including myself. I feel comfortable and relatively safe leaving my door unlocked. Nothing really happens in this town. However, I don't wear earbuds or headphones and I'm sensitive to my surroundings because I'm used to being the only one in my apartment. My hearing is bad but I'm positioned to always face my bedroom door. I also have difficulty focusing on things. If this had happened to me, I would have been murdered by the intruder because I would have noticed him right away. When you live alone, you're not used to the feeling of someone being in the same room with you, even if you can't see or hear them.
