The presenter is in a rush and cannot work a microphone but the curator gentleman is superb. Patient too with the inane front man. Tatra built some truly beautiful cars and vehicles of other types with world leading originality and I was lucky enough to see many of their models at museums in my native UK as a youngster. There were at least 3 'daily drivers' in my industrial home town and two were owned by ex-RAF airmen who had settled in Britain after WW2 and insisted on having cars from the old country. Because Tatras were mostly hand built they had no problems specifying righ-hand drive and it was apparently easy to achieve because the main steering connecting rod was placed at the centre of the front axle in a very strong, simple gear 'bulge' which could be both greased and adjusted for different tyre types. I dimly recall that they could also have different springs fitted to change ride height and driving feel. The aluminium body panels were of high quality and easy to repair because for all its apparent 'one piece' streamlined exterior panels could be removed and used brass bolts into strong clips which could be finely adjusted. Tatra made their own engines and these were far more refined than VWs of the time. The 'boxer' configuration used balanced bearings and were really quiet and electrics were placed quite high to avoid water splashes causing temporary problems such as often occurred with VWs until the latter fitted shielding.
And this is one reason to watch TFL videos. The only thing that would have improved it would be a ride in the 87. Will be looking forward to the trip to Prague and back.

They merely changed the marque from unspeakable 'Nesselsdorfer Wagenbau-Fabriks-Gesellschaft' to Tatra. Moreover, the first models sold under Tatra margue were 10s and 20s, not the 11.

They also have a Tatra Aerolunge, which is a pusher prop car. This is why I enjoy visiting the Lane. They have things you will not see anywhere else.
There are some really amazing cars at the Lane. The propeller car is the 1932 Helicron. There is a video on the Lane Motor Museum RUclips channel.
