Could get rather interesting when it picks up the odd stray cat, dog, or bit of road-kill! There's a few RUclips videos that show pics of the fan-train prototypes, but they didn't progress past that stage because up till then they hadn't given much thought to the passengers waiting on the platforms!
Unsure whether that motor would have enough power to dice a deer, but the result would still be very messy, & doubt that the car would survive that well either!
It's too bad Dennis didn't have time to talk about the red Citroen 2 CV at 1:22. It was built for a fire department in a mountainous region of France and was actually made from the front ends of 2 separate cars which are bolted together, because the roads where it's meant to go are too narrow for the car to turn around, so when the driver wants to reverse direction, he simply stops, gets out and hops into the other half and goes "forward" in the opposite direction!
It was built by Dave Burnham of Delanson, New York and is a replica of the original requested by Jeff. It was at the Citroen Rendezvous in Saratoga Springs a few years ago. It was wild to watch when there were people front and back both steering it.
This is one of the truly great car collections. I’ve visited it three times (not all cars are out at the same time). Planning to back again later this month.
I've been there a couple of times over the years . If you are a car person it's a real treat to visit . Spent several hours there and only thought I had been there a little while . Very cool museum to visit . Next time I'm in Nashville I will definitely go back .
9-22-18 Just went to The Lane Motor Museum and I highly recommend this fabulous place! Great people running the Museum that are soo kind and informative.
Really love the French bent. It says something about their culture and history that they were so original and had such wild ideas in engineering and design, both. If you have ever owned a vehicle that is more beautiful, than it is practical, you are an honorary Citizen of France!
Been there, dragged my wife around there for HOURS.... Terrific place, notice virtually nothing roped off. Look underneath, poke your head inside, all good. Fantastic collection.
A lot of these concepts seem left-field, but they have a context of lower speed, and barely a recognition of comfort. During the first half of the 20th C , 20-30-40 mph was fantastic! More comfortable than a wooden bench? Fantastic! We are so spoiled, today.
It was cool to see the flash of the King Midget. My mother bought a 1957 from the classified in the back of a Popular Mechanic magazine. Shipped from the factory in Athens, OH, by Railway Express, strapped down in two pallets. We had it for about 5 years.
Cool to see an old Tatra, even tho I'm from the country they've been made in I haven't seen a one in my life. Also nice sticker on the back bumper saying "How are you?" in czech.
Thank you for your great and inspired videos about cars and their invention and it could be a useful information for creative mind to come up with new invention , Thanks
I loved the Lane Museum, we visited there last year when I had a flight out of Nashville and got to the airport way too early. I spent 4 hours there and could have been longer. I loved the Citroen Panel truck.... Do yourself a favor and plan a visit, you wont be disappointed
I've been there 6 times (1/23/05, 3/20/05, 7/2/05, 7/31/09, 4/30/17 and 5/25/17) and been inside the basement. Luckily, Lane Motor Museum is a 30 minute drive from my house. October 28, 2019 9:33 pm
The Russian guys from the RUclips channel "Garage 54" would absolutely love seeing the propeller car, because they are trying to build something similar.
@@StayMadNobodycares the BMI Russian guy is an awesome translator. He does an awesome job at translating those videos so an English-speaking person like myself can watch those videos.
You have to wonder what the people of the early 1900's imagined the future would be like in the next century. They probably imagined we would have flying cars and flying trains with the invention of the airplane.
Goes to show you just never can tell..like my user name people think im a Gamer but nope i took this name after researching WW2 ,all the documentaries ,battles ,allied planes::My father was in the South Pacific ..U.S Navy in 42...
Was this Museum hit by the recent tornadoes in Nashville? I would not want to pull the aircraft car up to a curb while parking LOL could be devastated by the curb or by the pedestrians on the sidewalk
It's a pedestrian blender!

IMAGINE COLLECTING A DEER IN THAT FAN AT 70 !

For the manufacturing of peasant smoothies.
people always thought those cars came painted Red...get it

that propeller car was awesome, thanks for showing us this !!
"...but will it blend?"
I've been here over 3 times now, and it's a hidden gem. I'm glad it finally got recognized.
That propeller idea is great until you hit a bird and your morning cruise turns into a horror movie.
They could have just installed a cage over the fan...like the typical table or stand fan so commonly in use nowadays ?
"...but will it blend?"
They could have HseOChin but they didn't. Safety wasn't as big a concern back in the 'good old days' lol..
Oh it will blend MrWombatty, it will blend like nothing you've ever seen blended before.
@@MrWombatty omg yes

Thanks for uploading these Dennis..i always liked the show
That prop car has to be the greatest idea for the worst idea ever. Can you imagine trying to sneak back into your parent's house at 3am?
"...but will it blend?"
Just push it in
Just turn off the headlights.
@@MrWombatty Lets talk about that!
Just get up to a good altitude then glide home!
So cool.. I have been here before during a headphone meet but now I would love to come back to see the cars!
Went there last year. Awesome place!
A lot of cool cars. Single wheel motorcycle, huge truck out back that takes up several lanes of traffic, and my favorite, Lotus Elise.
Really love the French bent. It says something about their culture and history that they were so original and had such wild ideas in engineering and design, both. If you have ever owned a vehicle that is more beautiful, than it is practical, you are an honorary Citizen of France!
Great stuff Dennis. I'm sure a person could easily spend hours there. What an amazing collection!
Been there, dragged my wife around there for HOURS.... Terrific place, notice virtually nothing roped off. Look underneath, poke your head inside, all good. Fantastic collection.
Oh Jesus H Christ can you imagine running into a deer with that car.

I drove a friend's T87 a few years ago. it's the 56 Volkswagen from hell!
Can you imagine driving the Helicron Propeller Car in Minnesota in the Winter? The wind chill would be about -200°!
The propeller car has it's own fan club.
I wonder what the pedestrian crash safety rating for that thing would be? :P
Blender.
Illegal across all continents and a negative 12 star rating by EU safety commission.
What pedestrian!
5 out of 5 stars
Been subbed since I watched your cartoony VW Bus a few years back an amazing show crazy how far people and transportation has come
Love the fun of these very special cars 🚗
People must think its just a prop but its an actual prop!
Ar ar.
LOL
The red bumper sticker on Tatra says "How are you?" in Czech.
+1 License plate from the 80s (NJJ) Nový Jičín.
I’ve been there twice. Great museum.
When I graduate from high school this year I plan on going there
Wow: that's something very original, unique
Love that museum they have a cool collection of micro cars

How would that thing fare in a winter storm? Being from Canada that would make it so much worse.
This is the coolest dude on youtube!
13:01 there’s a peel p50 in the background do a review for that plz
If I make it out of this pandemic I’d love to visit
Great cars, thanks for the video

@Marius Ipad During the cold war nobody really cared
Whent on Google Maps and viewed the complete museum on the inside. I won't have to go there now.

im wondering if jay lenos has ever featured any of his cars
Great cars thanks for the video
5:37 "jak se máš?" ...means how are you? but it has a Howdy energy to it.
Maybe one day God will present me one of those cars as I always dream of....
So, are the guns synchronized with the propeller? They must be because there are no wings to mount them on.
Hey i wanted to ask if this channel makes videos abot old mopeds because havent seen any so far
Nope. Just cars.
The other guy is wearing the old bomber hat that is so cool
I like the anti-jay-walker attachment on the front. You can see why we don't see them on the roads now.
Dennis you should visit the Maharaja's collection in India...
Shouldn’t the propeller be on the rear of the car?
How does backing up work with that prop car ??
Not very well.

what happens when a bird goes through the propeller? do the shards break and hit your face?

PS... I loved this episode.
