Absolutely brilliant, lost in a world of Mercs for 38 mins. A certain auction site, is the next port of call...🤦🏻♂️ Such a great channel Jonny, I can't think of anything else on RUclips that got such a wide reaching playlist that has something for every petrol/leccy head. Sir I tip my hat...🎩
Absolutely beautiful, and I’m so pleased the owner allowed this museum to be featured! I currently own two Mercedes, a 350ML suv with 200K miles. Looks and Drives like it’s close to new. The other is a 1997 500SL with 108K drives perfectly everything works, looks nearly perfect. My other Mercedes in around 1994 was a 1984 300D with 300K miles when I finally donated it to the kidney foundation. MB is a wonderful car manufacturer. If you do the routine maintenance, they last literally decades.
I bet there are many RUclipsrs, Motoring Journalists, Magazine Editors how would give their right arm for opportunities to preview unique collections like this. All credit to "The Late Brake Show", well done and such an easy to watch casual interview style.
Many thanks for watching Jeremy. I am incredibly fortunate to have been welcomed into the dens of many private car collectors. There's always a story to tell, and always a surprise here and there. Danny was simply oozing Mercedes passion and knowledge, which made the day fly by. Sadly we couldn't show everything!
Just think Jonny, you could work on proper telly and have to condense this collection to 4 minutes of content, on that side of things. Keep up the eclectic mix.
Jonny, your videos are just on a different level, from 911 barn finds, to private museums. I cant wait to see what this year is going to bring. The Late Brake Show has come out the blocks for 2022 at 100mph, cant wait what you are going to surprise us all with.
Brought a tear to my eye. One of my favourite memories was in my dad’s 200e back in the 80s as a kid and the three pointed star over the bonnet. It’s the reason I’m a ‘petrol head’ today. Such a great private collection. Ed
You can always tell when someone is passionate about a certain make of car. This guy was a joy to listen to. That second to last car was an AMG? The fact that it came down the line at Porsche is amazing! Learned alot from watching this! Thanks Johnny!!
I loved this episode; thank you Jonny. And hats off to Danny, for putting this collection together. As a former owner of of 124 Coupe, and now nursing a W201 through its retirement, this resonated so strongly with me. Epic!
The addiction is strong! My uncle had a brand new 300D manual in 1984 when I was 12. B560SRJ in petrol blue with velour, 4x windows, centre armrest, tinted glass, factory towbar with self leveling suspension. An amazing car. Spent many an hour polishing it up after fly spattered journeys to Frejus. One year he towed us on a rope 900 miles home from Aix-en-Provence. Loved that car. I now have a mint W123 200D and an average condition W123 200. They are expensive to keep in good nick as Mercedes want daft money for parts now. You get in it and you are back in 1984 again 😊 Also owned a couple of 190E models and the holy grail for me, an E500 Limited. Very addictive marque!!
It’s a mindblowing collection: the quality of the cars, the place, the presentation… It really does feel like Mercedes’s own museum in Germany. I’m short for words. Kudos to the owner and thank you for filming it for us!
Knocking it out of the park Mr. Smith. What a collection and what a video. All that dedication to the three pointed star has paid off. Unique cars, many thanks for bringing this to our screens.
As a W123 300TD estate owner I was blown away by this collection. Danny is a top bloke who oozes passion and knowledge with quality Mercs full of amazing provenance. I hope one day I get the chance to view this personally. Top work Jonny.
When I get my Mercedes serviced I have seen Danny E500 and his blue w126 and drooling over them, like Danny I'm a mercedes enthusias and want the best or nothing. I'm glad I have my car serviced at the same place. Stevensons telling me about your collection and wanting to see it. Now I have. Thank you jonny for sharing my passion with the 3 pointed star. Excellent review 👏
It threw me off that such a Merc expert kept calling the first-gen SL an 'SLR' when the ones he referenced weren't -Rs... the only SLR Gullwing would be the Uhlenhaut Coupé which is a priceless one-off. Well, two-off. Regardless of that, though, this is a really remarkable space with some brilliant and unexpected examples lurking around. Having been to Stuttgart (and MB World Brooklands) he's got the aesthetic exactly right. Really cool.
Never thought touring a museum on-line could be so exciting. My dad had a rare 1957 220S (if I recall correctly) and we drove to the city in a 1963 190D for years. To the data of the 190E 'Baby Benz', I believe it had 122 bhp, not 322 as shown at 35:23. I can feel and share the love for special, older cars as expressed here wonderfully.
The output from your channel continues to blow me away. An utter sanctuary for the connoisseur. This could have been directors cut movie length and I would have still been begging for more. Bravo Mr Smith
Wow, this man is living the dream, buy the cars you like, store them and keep them immaculate to enjoy any time. Not big ferrari's or Bentleys but honest, real world motors we all know and love. Love it! Thanks Johnny 😊
I'm as impressed by the fit and finish of the premises as with the collection. The attention to detail is fantastic - just look at the pictures all aligned perfectly. A great presentation space. I just hope that lots of people get to visit and enjoy these cars up close. Well done too to this owner for getting very great and interesting examples of cars that he loves. Kids, stay in school, study and work hard, and you too might be able to have something like this.
Hi Jonny, this made my week as an MB fan and W201 owner. Glad to see the baby Benz given some airtime. Your channel just keeps giving, fantastic, thanks!!!
Is good to see humble examples like the W201, C124 and low specs cars getting proper care in a collection. Those models usually are abused or left to rot because they are worth nothing, so is good to know someone is preserving these kind of cars. By the way, there is no doubt these cars are driven, you can see a little bit of brake dust in some wheels.
well both cars are looked-after cars in Germany, very popular models which everyone wants to have young and old. I've got a little classic car collection my own, where a W123 300D has its place as well.
Oh my god Danny I love what you've done! Your collection/museum to excellence is what i would do if I had the money! My first car was a Mercedes 190E and ever since then I've become obsessed with old Mercedes. I've always thought that just one company can provide you with every type of vehicle from truck to supercar to off road to any type of motoring. My favourites are the original G-Wagen, the Uni-Mog and obviously the 190E!
What a fantastically geeky man. Hats off, that's dedication to the brand. His museum makes me think of a one make Jay Leno's garage (not the channel, the building) vibe. Wonderful.
Wow. You Jonny with the Late Brake Show just goes from strength to strength. Absolutely fascinating to see this collection. I never even felt interested in the 3 pointed star, but the stories, condition and beauty of these examples would make anyone with an interest in cars sit up and pay attention. Well done both to you and Dan for sharing this amazing collection and most of all you enthusiasm.
Harry (Harry’s Garage) just featured some of this collection including the rally merc at the latest Silverstone auction. Looks like Mr Lucas is having a clear out.
Absolutely phenomenal! Yet again Jonny you knock it out of the park! I remember an uncle having a light metallic blue 190E and being picked up from school in it as a surprise! I was (for that moment!) the coolest kid…! It’s amazing there are people who create these spaces and are willing to share. Thank you!
I used to work for an independent merc 190 specialist.. it was called the garage. owned by a guy called steven shires... and i drive a 190e 1.8 petrol manual for 5 or 6 years. I loved that car
Wow wee!! One of the Best pieces on Automobiles I have witnessed in years. Thankful there are people around like this and Yourself to promote and produce Such a great film. Truly Amazing, Thank you to All Involved. 11/10.
I've watched this over 3 stints while walking the dog . mercedes also left a mark on me as a child because of family owning one. This film and this collection are both fantastic.
As the proud owner of a 95 A124, i envy this man while simultaneously saluting him for his collection. I know if i had the resources, I’d collect a few more Benz’s as well.
As a student in boarding school in Los Cardales, Buenos Aires, Argentina, the owner would sometimes take a few of us city people (BsAs proper) in his brand new 560 SEC. It was the fastest car I was ever in as a non-adult - the seat belt tensioner would pull you back in the seat when it got speedy, i remember hitting around over 245 KPH. Would love one of em one of these days.
Oh man that is absolute heaven to me, what a collection and what a place and some amazing cars on display 👍😃 for now I'll have to stick with my 90's Mercs
Another brilliant video. Danny is such a passionate enthusiast. East End boy turned TV presenter (and that is said with much respect to the man). Jonny, you’re just the best. Your knowledge is immense but your style is so modest. Big thanks to you both.
Wonderful collection and a great video, thanks Jonny! I read the Mercedes magazine feature on the museum recently, but this really brought it alive. I have a W124 E420 with 42,000km on the clock, even more of a sleeper than the 500E!
That’s just Beautiful. A work of art in itself. I’ve just closed my eyes and revisited my very first walk through a garage alone, 1966 and I was 5 years old Wow all those past kinaesthetic’s switched straight back and on, like a lamp. A soft warm light. Thanks for sharing that. 👍☘️
Johnny is clearly impressed, and he's seen a lot. For good reason, it must have been so cool to go back in time with the story of every car while seeing each one in person. Danny is enjoying being the host and his passion and pride are contagious. Thanks for the episode!
Beautiful collection! I’ve loved this mark since I was 14. On my 15th birthday I asked my folks to take me for a test drive. It was a W201 baby and it got me hooked. I now own a beautiful 1994 W124 estate.
Mercedes should be paying him for preserving their vehicles. Seriously though, this could be opened up a few days a year to enthusiasts and with this guy’s knowledge he should do guided tours. Amazing dedication to the brand.
Someone should tell Shmee this is what a curated museum looks like. Each car has a unique story which is celebrated in its own way. In a perfect world this would be the minimum expectation when presenting a car collection.
This has to be one of the best car caves you have filmed . You are so passionate about cars but Danny is on another level about his fabulous mercedes car collection .Late brake has to be the best RUclips channel
Some nice and unusually optioned 126's there. What a magnificent little toy box that fellas got there. Nice collection, nice repository for them too. Thanks for posting this, and thanks for the trouble you go to with your presentations. 😉👍👍
Dan thanks for letting us into your beautiful museum. I am so gutted I can’t see it as I’m severely visually impaired but it’s been great listening to your knowledge and incredible passion about these cars. You can hear in your voice which makes it more sociable to listen to. Like I say would love to be able to see it but that ain’t never gonna happen. But I’d also someone from Kent to happy days we have got taste in Kent
I’ve got a disease called retinitis pigmentosa‘s. I known when I was 14 that I was going to go blind one day. 48 now and I can see shadows. But I have had sight so and I used to love restoring old lorries and tractors always been to car shows steam rallies that is my thing. I did drive which shouldn’t of done do a lot of stuff but sadly eyes are failing now. I was very lucky that I can say I’ve seen stuff. But now are use touch to see. Thank you for even asking but you Gotta love the museum keep it up
Love this video. I’m only 19 but I hope to have a garage full of classic Mercedes by the time I’m 60. I remember riding in my grandmothers slk convertible at the age of 8 with the convertible top down watching the stars. For me that is where the love of the Mercedes started.
Sacco era of Mercedes Benz was just stunning.. I didn’t realize since I was 16 years old I only drove his designs. W201,w124,w220 🥰.. true ergonomics at work!!!
Outstanding! What a museum and incredibly good taste in Mercedes models. The pagoda SL and the Bruno Sacco cars are gorgeous. Really great to see the passion that Danny has.
I had the good fortune of getting a right hand drive 116 basic Auto ac power lock No pw , mag wheels had original hub caps etc. carb 280S..Bought in MB London driven in India and handed to me with6200 miles.memories.Still around now in Trinidad.PAO 91.Thanks for the visit to you Museum.Gerald Amoroso... .
Fascinating to watch his passion and see his face light up when he speaks and it triggers a memory of his earlier life. Also wonderful that Mercedes know of the collection and clearly respect it. Could literally watch hours of this sort fo thing, well done Jonny et al!
It's Sunday. The weather's crap. I'm sitting with the fire on and a coffee watching this relaxing car video. You should be in TV (again) Jonny. So much better than "the other car shows".
Oh Wow they way he talks about this museum catches the viewer , you feel the passion , the history , thats been hard earned and relentless to collect , brilliant film love this top notch !
Watched this last night. What a fantastic collection of cars. Nice to see a bloke so passionate about a brand of cars he so clearly enjoys. . The Late Brake Show is by far the best channel around now. 38 minutes went by in a blind of an eye. And what a refreshing change that the interviewer lets the interviewee talk without interrupting them. Never been a Mercedes fan. But how much do I want a 500E? Lovely looking car.
Thoroughly enjoyed that - thanks Jonny, and thanks for sharing it with us Danny! Have enjoyed a similar experience through my father's love of Mercedes (but not quite to the same extent) starting with a W123 230E, a W124 200E, through to a 560SEC, 500SEC, and an AMG W124 300E (amongst others, such as a white 280SL) - it's brought back some great memories!
Amazing video! Great collection from the times Mercedes Benz made fantastic cars. Read an article about Danny in Mercedes Enthusiast last year, so was great to see and hear Danny's story and cars. My dad had two S124's in 86-87, so this is really my era of MB!
Like you Jonny as the owner of several W123's this is a peak Mercedes collection. Although I've moved onto Porsches I still have a soft spot (getting harder) for 70's and 80's Mercs
Amazing collection. However the car you referred to as an SLR, was not , it was a 'normal' 300 SL Gullwing. The 300 SLR Ullenhaut coupe is a completely different, 8 cylinder one off special.
The best video I have ever seen! What an amazing guy with an amazing obsession! He is living everyone’s dream! The W201 is what I had back in the day, what amazing build quality!
Genuinely superb RUclips content. Thanks so much for posting. Lost in Merc world for nearly 40 minutes and about to celebrate that with a drive in my low mileage '94 SL500!
youtube should bane these two gentlemans. they cannot enjoy alone so many lovely vehicles. really nice concentration of the best cars ever made. congratulations and thanks for sharing such nice moments.
This immediately reminds me of a Mercedes Benz private museum here in the Netherlands in Baarn, the owner is also full of stories about the cars. Many first owner cars with low mileage. This collection can be viewed by appointment for groups.
What a feature! Respectfully shutting the doors with the handles, not touching the paint. Great set up for Dan, gone all out on creating a dedicated collection of some special cars. He should do exclusive ‘enthusiasts’ tours.
Amazing collection. I just bought my first Mercedes, 1989 420 SEL Smoke Silver with palomino, the car is incredible!!! Please, you need back in this place and record more details for each car!!! Congrats for the museum owner to “open” for us and Jonny, thank you for show this amazing collection!
I was a Star Technician from 1971 to 1990 and was on call to respond to break downs in a 300 diesel wagon like that 1980 to 1987 at Greenwich, Connecticut 🇺🇲 Great museum👍👍👍 Those models are Best Of Breed. 1990 was the beginning of Mercedes decline in build quality in my opinion. I left and had a second 27 year career with BMW till retirement. "Engineered Like No Other Car - Mercedes Benz " Thanks Jonny👍🇺🇲
I am happy to came across this video. I am a Mercedes-Benz fan. I got fascinated when I visited the MB museum in Stuttgart. And when I'm back home, I vowed to want a W124. And I got it. It was big for me as I never had a chance to sit in a Benz since kid. High respect to this guy who can collect so many of Merc. Merc have long list of heritage, great people and good stories. Audi founder and Ferdinand Porsche was once a worker in MB too. To be honest, I seldom heard much stories and people in BMW except Chris Bangle. Maybe there is someone collecting BMWs? Hope to listen their stories too.
I remember seeing the the 90’s Mercedes convertible parked in Edgbaston Birmingham, outside of an Advertisement company. They had been just launched in the uk and it was silver grey and private plated. Amazing memory
I can only agree with Chris Paine, you certainly know your stuff and Danny - like others you have featured - is an amazing man. I'll probably, no certainly, watch this again and again!
Absolutely brilliant, lost in a world of Mercs for 38 mins.
A certain auction site, is the next port of call...🤦🏻♂️

Hoe wonderful are the merceds cars with up-front lights and more curves by the French designer!

You are so passionate about cars but Danny is on another level about his fabulous mercedes car collection .Late brake has to be the best RUclips channel
The mind blowing thing is the owner's off-the-top-of-my-head knowledge about all these cars in his colection. True passion!
Some nice and unusually optioned 126's there. What a magnificent little toy box that fellas got there. Nice collection, nice repository for them too. Thanks for posting this, and thanks for the trouble you go to with your presentations. 😉👍👍
i can listen to danny enthusiastically describe the nuances and history of each vehicle for much longer than 38 minutes!
please, spare no detail!
I remember seeing a service car for sale on Ebay last year. That still had the tool box in as well. The 300D is a beautiful estate
I don't mean to be rude. Do you know what the cars look like, and if so how?
Fantastic to see such a fine collection of Merc's, beautifully presented in a in a Mercedes Benz shrine. The passion was palpable.
Brilliant episode Jonny. 21 year owner/custodian of a mint smoke silver W124 300E here in Australia. I understand the love Danny.
I had the good fortune of getting a right hand drive 116 basic Auto ac power lock
No pw , mag wheels had original hub caps etc. carb 280S..Bought in MB London driven in India and handed to me with6200 miles.memories.Still around now in Trinidad.PAO 91.Thanks for the visit to you Museum.Gerald Amoroso...

Piles of piles !

Man! How many rolls did you use?
So many memories of my parents W124 and 190E. What an amazing collection! And absolutely love your videos Johnny, keep going!
Thanks!
Fantastic. Noted,no 190e Cosworth . I was privileged to own one back in the 90s ,a Brilliant car. 🇬🇧
What a wonderful collection,, great video Johnny.
Hats off to the gentleman for setting up the museum. Sadly most will never see, but we have now had a personal tour!
Amazing collection. However the car you referred to as an SLR, was not , it was a 'normal' 300 SL Gullwing. The 300 SLR Ullenhaut coupe is a completely different, 8 cylinder one off special.
Tks Johnny, for bringing us these gems of motoring history. Greetings from Asia
A real labour of love. I’m the same with my collection. Love adding to the display. Backgrounds, badges etc.
The best video I have ever seen! What an amazing guy with an amazing obsession! He is living everyone’s dream! The W201 is what I had back in the day, what amazing build quality!
Amazing kudos to Dan I only drive Lexus but as an history student I admired Dan for creating a masterpiece. Thanks for sharing an incredible video❤️
Great car collection and the owner's constant employment of the royal 'we' is a added bonus.
Hats off to the owner. He's done an amazing job in fulfilling his passion for Mercedes
This immediately reminds me of a Mercedes Benz private museum here in the Netherlands in Baarn, the owner is also full of stories about the cars. Many first owner cars with low mileage. This collection can be viewed by appointment for groups.
incredible passion comes through in every aspect of this video
How many times did he say danz benz 🤣
Beautiful cars! I own a 1984 300sd and a 1987 300SDL , the Sdl is for sale cheap! It runs and drives but needs a restoration.it has 221k
33:48 sportsaaah 👀. Seriously though nice car, and amazing collection.
This is madness , all those lovely colours. The greens and browns. I love them.
I was a Star Technician from 1971 to 1990 and was on call to respond to break downs in a 300 diesel wagon like that 1980 to 1987 at Greenwich, Connecticut 🇺🇲
Great museum👍👍👍
Those models are Best Of Breed. 1990 was the beginning of Mercedes decline in build quality in my opinion. I left and had a second 27 year career with BMW till retirement.
"Engineered Like No Other Car - Mercedes Benz "
Thanks Jonny👍🇺🇲
Creighton, thanks for the comment sir. Really love that pre 1990 quality that MB had
What a fabulous collection just priceless love the 1960-2000 heritage and in real colours of the era 👍🤘🙏
Fantastic. For me 500E and the 190E.
I can only agree with Chris Paine, you certainly know your stuff and Danny - like others you have featured - is an amazing man. I'll probably, no certainly, watch this again and again!
Here in Australia we love the W126, Ive personally had 3, and still have 2 of them.
They were iconic then, and are still.
Great video and what a collection!!
Been to the Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart a couple of times with customers, I worked for Bosch at the time
🤛🏿
