@@MattsMoparMadnessI just got my Challenger back today with a tune and Longtubes as well, do you have rev limiter delete and MDS delete? My tuner added that and I made 361 rwhp and 398 torque very respectable numbers I’d say
I just bought a brand new RT and am looking to get a little more power, but I'm honestly all about having a good looking car and it being LOUD. What do you think is the best setup for getting the most noise but it also not sounding like complete trash? I've worked on a lot of cars but have no experience with headers. Do they increase sound paired with an exhaust?
Yes they definitely made the exhaust more aggressive while also cleaning up the tone. I have since put on a couple resonators at the rear to clean up the tone a bit more. I’ll be posting a videos soon comparing the two. Check out my other video on my exhaust setup.
Hey nice setup. What size are the long tubes? I just got a set of American racing headers 1 3/4 inch long tubes installed today. Im trying to see if i can get a tune that will also help with the traction control and service awd lights as well as the check engine light. The headers came with a blocked EGR port and the shop left one of the o2 sensors unplugged because the wiring wasnt long enough. I have an extended wiring harness for them to put in and hope that will shut off at least one of the lights. I wouldnt think EGR delete would make traction control or AWD lights come on. IDK....
Thanks! They are 1 7/8. Yeah definitely need those 02 sensor harness extensions and a tune since the oxygen sensors are lower down in the exhaust there are something that need to be adjusted in the tune. Once you do that there’s a good chance the other lights will go out as well. I assume it shuts down all wheel drive since there are engine codes.
@@mrdr_392Don't get lost in the "bigger is better" facade. Richard Holdener published actual dyno results, comparing the 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" headers. Even I was surprised. The smaller headers made more torque from 4-5000rpm. The larger headers only edged out the smaller tubes above 5500rpm....and that was only by 3-4hp. Below 4, the were damned near equal. I'll take the smaller, "torquey" headers any day of the week. Smaller tubes equate to higher velocities at lower RPMs, which then equates to better cylinder filling with the fresh intake charge. There's also a reverse soundwave that comes into play but I'm still wrapping my head around that one. On a 392, I'd definitely run the 1 7/8" headers, though. More cubic inches per cylinder to deal with. And finally, over the stock "log" manifolds, the longtubes were worth 18hp and 21 lb/ft, or 5% increase. 😎😎
Just bought a 2023 challenger few months ago honestly say it’s a nice car could’ve gotten a scat for the price but I’ve always wanted the rt wanna get some headers but don’t know which ones will be best but I also don’t wanna spend a nut on them
Kooks are very good but they can be pricy. Stainless works is a great middle option. I’ve heard lots of the BBK headers are cracking so I would stay away from them.
Yeah my tuner raised the rev limit to 6100 from the 5800 stock limiter. Able to shift a little later to keep me higher in the power ban for the next gear.
@@MattsMoparMadnessis it safe to raise the rev limiter with everything being stock? and so your car is just headers, air box, and tune? and your tuned by hp correct? but that limiter sounds sickk.
@@Carspov2 yes within reason. It’s set pretty safe from factory so bumping it up a little bit doesn’t hurt. I plan on getting forged internals later down the road
Awesome videos man you should upload more!
Thanks! I will be doing a stage 3 cam install video in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
Check out my friends channel. He’s got an 09 that we do a bunch of stuff to. youtube.com/@trackpackrt?si=zvvic7baSXO6cMXm
Man I have the same car but granite gray instead of black . I can’t wait to do my headers and stuff. Bet it was an amazing difference
Headers really does wake your car up and if you run no cats even crazier but you won’t feel the power difference till you get a tune
Wow! With just a tune and headers you jumped 57 whp and 50 torque? Jesus the 5.7 responds to mods well, that same thing on a 6.4 would add 20-25
No the gains from my stock dyno is 12HP and 8 torque. Those two runs were my Dyno with just tune vs headers and tune.
@@MattsMoparMadnessso without the tune you was at 330 wheel right? Then a 12 HP increase with the tune and roughly 44 hp with the tune and headers?
@@fratzonicsrtbanshee174 My stock run was 358 HP and 390 Torque

@@fratzonicsrtbanshee174 Those are great numbers. My tuner raised the rev limiter and I don’t have MDS since mine is a manual trans.

The 1/3/4 barley give gain bro idk how ppl don’t know this buy bow
@@mrdr_392 Probably not as much as 1 7/8 but definitely better than stock and feel good pull at hwy speeds in upper rpm band.

What is the Kooks part number for the long tube headers you installed? Thanks.
The part number is SKU: 31002402

what lowering springs do u have
I have the super track pack option so it came with bilstein shocks and struts and sits 1” lower than a normal RT
Also man . What way did you tune the car ? Hp or Diablo
I used HP
What's hp?
How do the trucks have 395hp but these are so low?
The trucks are tuned differently. They also have an intake that switches from short to long runners like the 6.4 intakes do.
is the rest of the exhaust fully stock or does it have a muffler delete?
It’s a 3” system I built with glass pack mufflers. I have a video on my channel of the setup
