  • Welcome to Camping with Kim! My new camping channel and my very first video!
    Join me on my first solo female winter car camping adventure during the peak winter season in freezing Canadian snowy weather. In my first video, I head out to Algonquin Park and camp at Mew Lake.
    I sleep in my Honda CRV with a Thule roof cargo box to have enough space for all my gear. Sleeping in the car was very comfortable thanks to a small electric heater.
    Watch me make lots of fun memories with my new tent that collapses on me, attempt to chop firewood, play in the snow and go skating on a parking lot.
    This is definitely something I will do again!

    Hi Kim, I have to compliment you on your first video. I should had known it would be winter camping 😁. You have some athletic abilities when you were taking shots in the goal net🥅🏒. Enjoyed your culinary talents especially one pot of rice, chinese sausage and veggies😋. I liked this video and it seems that Canada offers beautiful parks to camp👍. Thank you for sharing 🙏🫶

      Hi Dave! Thanks! I play ringette which is somewhat like hockey. There's definitely no shortage of parks to camp at in Canada! The only problem is that they can get extremely busy during the warm seasons. As for the rice pot, I've definitely been trying to bring the comforts of home cooking with me when I go camping. For some reason everything tastes better out in the forest 😋

    Great job 👏 I’m going mobile this spring. I lived like this during the convoy. Kitchen and living room in the ice tent and bed in the suv. I’m building a trailer right now for going nomad. Cheers 🍻 stay safe out there. 🫡🇨🇦

    I apologize in advance but honestly, please don't ever leave the campground environment. And if you do, give Search & Rescue a heads up so they can prepare in advance to come out and get you.

      Thanks for your concern and I would definitely try to be safe out there and not burden search and rescue

    I didn’t understand sitting up a tent then sleeping in your car

    • @campingwithkim
      @campingwithkim  Год назад +5

      Hi John! Yeah - I get asked that by some of my tent friends too! I choose sleeping in the car over the tent whenever possible because it’s much easier for me to stay warm in the car, I get to lock the doors for added security and I have a mattress big enough to do a small star fish when I sleep! It’s super comfortable for me

      @@campingwithkim I would highly recommend you look into a larger winter capable shelter over a ice fishing hut. Or even a larger sized ice hut would do as well.
