  • Welcome to Camping with Kim! My new camping channel and my second video!
Join me on my solo female winter car camping adventure during the peak of our winter season during a freezing Canadian snow storm. I head out to Silent Lake Provincial Park and camp at Granite Ridge Campground as the storm rolls in at night.
Watch me make lots of fun memories watching birds, do a little snowshoeing and just enjoying the snow.
I sleep at the back of my Honda CRV with a memory foam mattress along with a sleeping bag. A Thule roof cargo box helps me store all my gear. I stay warm in the car and the tent using an electric heater since I was able to reserve a site with electricity.
I'll definitely be doing more camping and sharing of my little adventures.
If you missed it, my first winter camping adventure can be found here • Solo Female Winter Car... where I venture out to Algonquin Provincial Park to enjoy the snow there as well.

The birds eating the seeds from the hood of your car was amazing.

Thanks Tito! if I can do it, anybody can do it! My tiny adventures are short but they let me see so much and have lots of fun. I hope my videos help others to get out there too or at least share a little bit from my experiences.

Hi Kim, Dave from Ohio. I really enjoyed this video of Silent Lake camping. The segment where you set a handful of seeds for the birds to get especially in slo-mo was excellent along with the music🐦‍⬛🎼. My intentions is to go through each episode until I get caught up😁. Loved the pizza oven, never seen one used until now👍. Kim, you do have a sweet tooth 🍰😂 which is fine it keeps you energized 👍. I enjoyed watching and look forward in watching more 🙏🫶.

Hi Dave, the slow-mo birds was one of my favourite parts of all my videos too! It was so amazing to see them fly around at such high speeds. Slow-mo showed me that they're almost living in another reality where they make so many split second moves mid-flight. Really amazing! I definitely do have a sweet tooth :)

Loved the bird shots, as a Wildlife Photographer that made the video for me.

Thank you! I always find myself very lucky when I get to see any wildlife when camping. I don't always get lucky to catch them on camera though!

I sleep in my SUV too, easy set up and way more comfortable (and dry!) over a tent. In addition I just bring a smallish tarp and tie it off the roof rack to a tree and use that area for shade or shelter. Nice video

Thanks! and great tip on tarp - I want to try it out this summer. I'm sure that would help with the rainy / sunny car camping days

dont use a teflon pan, its bad for you, use cast iron

    • @campingwithkim

you're right - this was the only small pan I have but I'll definitely take your advice and switch to something else like a cast iron pan as soon as I can - Thanks!
