- With snow on the ground and lakes beginning to freeze, winter has certainly arrived. Happy I could take advantage of a few beautiful days with Chester and enjoy a great outing in the inflatable cabin.

I had a great pyrenees for 12 years here in Vermont. They are working dogs, as is Chester. I started Sam off as a pup by every time i went out to the wood shed, i would gather an armload of firewood and hand him one. I would go in the house and drop my load in the wood box by the stove. Then drop the one Sam was carrying in the box. Didn't take long to get to the point where i would just open the door and say Sammy get firewood. One by one he would fill the wood box for me. If i would have let him, he would have carried the whole woodshed in. Just start Chester off carrying a piece of wood every time you gather firewood, make it a game he loves, and before the end of this winter you will have your own little fire wood helper.
That's crazy! I belive you. But that's crazy. I miss my Taz. He was a brown lab too. Looked a lot like Chester!

Yep. My Border Collies and Australian Shepherds (we have a family farm and always have a couple of each to help with the cattle, and every time we have a litter and my dog's getting on in years, I keep the runt pup) has always been my firewood pal. I do the cutting and splitting, but he/she will always bring it to me.

This has got to be the easiest setup I have ever seen for camping, I never saw or heard of a inflatable cabin, very impressive, indeed! That’s great you can put a stove in there to keep warm, and with a vent pipe! That’s an awesome dog that you have there, and very smart! It just doesn’t get any better than that! Happy Camping!

Nothing like a good working dog to have as a camping companion - especially a Chocolate Lab! They are just made to be out in the field, working away and being there with you in the thick of things. Makes me really appreciate my guy, Chaos! ❤️💯

Same. 140lbs of solid dark chocolate lab love. Only 7 yrs old cancer in his femur, 3 months he was gone. Such pure hearted creatures created to be our companions. 🐕🦺
Hey this is a tent my husband and I want to look into, we are retired but think it's doable for us. We have two fur babies that go everywhere we go. God bless my friend.

My ex-partner of 7yrs was a true outdoorsman and survivalist and would always plan trips and adventures for us and I truly enjoyed about 70% of them. It was only the harsh cold trips that I could never get used to and sadly those were his favorite. I'm naturally a very slender & toned person, so I always struggled on those very cold trips but did it anyways because I truly loved his brilliant soul.
However, he became more and more "outdoorsy" as the years went on and took me on a surprise snow caving adventure. It was AWFUL in every way imaginable and I'll just leave it at that. I finally had to be honest with myself that it takes a spacial human to truly eat, sleep and breathe the great outdoors and that person was just not me. We are still extremely close and very good friends and will always have a special bond, especially from all that we taught each other, but he was way out of my league and finally found someone that is 100% on his level and I have as well. ❤
Watching this video brought back some of the great memories & times that we shared and for that, I'm very grateful, so THANK YOU for sharing your amazing adventure with Chester!... 💯💯💯

One tip. And I'm sure others have said the same. Clear the ground first before setting it up. The snow under will melt and the tent will sink and sag with it. Could potentially cause the stove to tip over at an inopportune time.
The extra time that will take.. is extra time saved! You will sleep better and longer and comfier…
And wake up more refreshed and able to tackle/conquer the day ahead! 🤘😜👍

Always pack a hard hitting caliber firearm. And shooting through the tent wouldn't be a problem since it's easily fixable. I never go out into the wilderness without some sort of firearm, you never know when you may need it, and I'm not talkin bout a 9mm only. Something larger preferably

Bears do hibernate in winter. Near spring they may pop out early, but very, very rare if one came out early. Then it would be bc of hunger, & very dangerous. I'd bet he's got a gun though.

My black lab, Jada, LOVED the snow…ol girl made it to 17 and went to bow wow heaven a couple yrs ago
We have a rescue silver lab and watching your chocolate friend is like watching our Joe...even down to the food bowl which slows down their eating a little. Great video. Love the tent.
This is officially the most awesome tent I have ever seen!! Now it only needs a doormat and house slippers to keep it perfect clean inside, an inflatable couch and an inflatable computer desk and inflatable chair, and enough electricity to power a good laptop and a personal space heater 250 to 500 watts or a 120 watt heating blanket, and every creative writer has the PERFECT getaway into the heart of nature and deep wilderness to get inspired. :)
then put it on a barge and float down the river with a team of female eskimo cheerleaders!

Luv Chester helping you gather sticks. Also luv the tent .. best part outside of inflatable, as a disabled I can put it up myself, but the window coverings are inside .. you can stay warm and dry to cover them up. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.

I always put at least one big sheet over air mattress and tuck it under. Also a moving blanket underneath.Prevents problems from doggy claws and other abrasion.

4 wheeling through the snow will ALWAYS be one of my favorite things on earth…especially when you’re in a remote spot, or even a suburban area when there are zero cars on the road…I’d always take my Tacoma, or Forrester, and cruise around for hours in the middle of the night…such a free feeling
Where I live we are lucky to get 1-2 days of snow the whole year.. dont have a 4x4 vehicle but I still cruise in the snow for hours at night with the same feeling. It soothes the soul

your cinematography skills are amazing, everything from the dog cam to the sharp juxtaposition of stark white/black and greys with the red tent was just incredible!
I remember back maybe 15 years ago. We went camping in Central Wisconsin to a 🏕⛺camp🏕site⛺🏕 called Southpark believe it or not. I so wanted their sign....lol. They had beautiful campgrounds, a disc ⛳golf⛳ course, and an amazing lake. It was such a beautiful place and at night, around 10-12am it was incredible. Stars everywhere. I'm disabled now, and I miss those days so much!

First time here! I love winter camping in a tent! I don't tell a lot of ppl cos they think it's a crazy thing! My tent companion is a ginger cat named Ed. I use a Mr heater to keep us toasty warm . Best thing about winter camping is no spiders, no mosquitoes!
I find cooking in the outdoors so much more rewarding than at home, your right, theres more prep work but the end results always taste so much better even if its a damn hot dog over the fire lol
Everything is better cooked over a fire.. with good wood.. it adds its own smoke flavour.. almost like smoked meats

I am impressed by the Dogs urgency to help collect wood as soon as they arrive. That was awesome. Also, the best encounter with a bear you can have, in the pot. One thing I’m surprised you didn’t have with this setup was a emergency patch kit. Seems like a necessity!

Was able to relate to your whole trip. I’ve got two dogs and now I want a tent like that. I do have a van I converted into a camper, and I do have an 18 foot teardrop as well. I have a half acre of property on a hill in Maine just above a pond. That tent would be ideal instead of putting up a permanent structure or some sort of shed. I’m interested in the stove and the tent that you have. The flooring makes sense as well. Don’t stop what you’re doing. Very enjoyable video. Thank you.

Awesome Adam...beautiful virgin sno, the pup, super cool tent. All a man really needs for a great camping trip. I winter camp inside the caves formed by massive boulders in baraboo wisconsin. Nice and cozy if you prepare right!

That inflatable tent is sweet.....I think though one suggestion is maybe to shovel the snow off the area where the tent is going to lay to help keep the tent warmer, and make sure there are no sharp sticks that could puncture the bottom of the tent.

There's few things as soothing as the sound of a light snoring dog to fall asleep to. And if they're next to you in bed they're often nice and warm as well... double win. He's lucky with a human like you to take him on trips like these. 😊

TIP: Warm the tent before you inflate your bed, it will be filled with warm air not cold air. :)
If you're going through inflation of a cabin ya can just get a roll floor mattress.
