Wow I have exactly the same 2015 focus and have just got this msg, now I know just what a ball ache it's gonna be to fix it, didn't realise that it is so complicated, I'd rather go back to a tyre pressure gauge and do it myself, ie, pump it up if it needs it, job done. Thanks for doing this video, cheers 😀

Great video, would love a review/recommendation of any TPMS readers suitable for DIY, Snap on's a bit pricy :-) or a vid on cars with TPMS but not using sensors in wheel.

Thank you for your positive feedback. Since TPMS systems have been around I’ve only ever used Snap-On’s TPMS 4. Their TPMS 5 is either out or coming soon to America so May upgrade. However, having a quick browse, alternative TPMS scanners are around £150 upwards but how much they scan/programme I wouldn’t know. HOWEVER, videos I can do. No doubt there will future videos of other system, which use the ABS system to tell the car if a tyre is under inflated or not rather than have sensors in each wheel. I’ll try my best to get a video filmed. Thanks again 👍

I start letting air of my front left tyre and it doesn't move me to next one? It eventually goes flat and then car beeps and says tp couldn't be trained? Any ideas? I did get st wheels I changed to, im wondering if the sensors need changing?

Hi. Thanks for the comment. So firstly if you’ve had ST wheels fitted (or any wheels for that matter) but used the original sensors then as long as the sensors are still in the same position on the car then the system would not need to be put into a re-learn mode. At most you would just need to put the correct tyre pressures in the wheels then reset the system normally through the steering wheel settings. You only need to initiate a relearn if you either rotate wheels/sensors around the vehicle OR replace a defective sensor with a new one. Otherwise you will need a Tyre Pressure Monitoring Machine similar the one in the video to tell the car that it’s to learn that particular sensor after putting the car into a re-learn mode. Otherwise just letting air out of the tyre will not register the new or newly positioned sensor. Hope that helps and makes sense.

@@greenautoservices appreciate the reply, okay so yeh I got ST wheels for my zetec s, the wheel position might make sense as I do not know which wheel was which when fitting them as I didn't keep my old sensors. The new wheels already had some fitted. I'm taking it to a garage tomorrow as they said they have a device to check them, was hoping it was something I could sort without paying out.

@@iitznotsteven that makes sense. If they are sensors from another vehicle then they will undoubtedly need to be relearn to the vehicle. It shouldn’t take the garage too long. As long as the sensors in your wheels are all ok then the car should pick them up. All the best 👍
