In case you all want some themes you haven’t tried:
-Justification: You all are assigned a loose theme then everyone runs as many cards as they can force to justify in it. Think the Blue Sun’s Zenith in the music deck because they look like they’re at a rave. The decks won’t be coherent but will be fun.
-Kaiju Fight: you all play a commander with 7+ CMC and watch the giant monsters crash through the environment.
-Politics Week: you all run a political focused deck whether it be group hug, group slug, combat, offer deals, force a bloodbath, etc.
-Reverse Revenge: you all pilot a deck someone else played and lost with. Sort of a cross between Revenge and Secret Santa except the gift is bad and the revenge is served cold.
-Unrecommended: you all pick a commander then cannot run a single card recommended to run in the deck according to EDHRec.
That said I’d love to see monocolors and guilds revisited. Redoing themes has its own appeal too.
I love these
Oooooh, I love Reverse Revenge
Unreccomended sounds like a good one, so many games come down to the same handful of broken staples.
Reverse revenge, more like "let me tell you what you did wrong" lol
Call Reverse Revenge white elephant.
"there's a strong chance I don't go past two lands" says Crim with a third land in hand
he does enjoy the good old lying :D
This is the greatest commander clash win I've ever seen. Crim found the line. The fact that the second distraction oil question line actually worked when richard thought he was in the clear was an all time moment
Thanks for playing my Plargg deck :), it was really cool seeing your upgrades and it’s a darn shame it didn’t manage to get the surprise win by looping Glimpses, but the episode was very fun any way!
What does you base list look like ? I'm brewing Plargg currently.
Bro, I'm building a plargg glimpse deck that tries to cheat out 7 dragons (lathliss, terror of the peaks, scourge of valkas, red dragon, bogardan hellkite, goldspan dragon, knollspine dragon) in one fell swoop from glimpse.
Pestering Richard into punting was HILARIOUS. Love that y'all are friends.
Update: Geico! Long distance provider! I haven't laughed this hard in forever.
I'm only half way through, but... Crim not using Parallax Wave with commander correctly is vexing. You remove all the counters from the Parallax Wave while continually responding to each activation. Then with all 5 exiles on the stack, activate Ghen's ability to sac the Wave. The return to battlefield trigger goes off, then the exiles happen, and everything is gone.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this, makes me think he threw it in there because he saw it on edhrec without actually knowing why it's good with his commander, same with complaining about crackdown when he could have played it and sacrificed it to loop ECD or parallax wave instead of turning off his card draw every turn
To be fair, they play so many decks - frankly, I have no expectations at all of them to be actually good pilots for each deck. If they brought their own personal decks, then sure, i can see that. But this is just a deck they brewed up for this video
Richard starting the new year with Mono White Spellslinger. Gotta show off Cartographer’s Hawk and Secret Rendezvous power creep after all
Tomer is a saint for having to get through this in editing
Just hearing Phil's deck name reminds me of my Yorion, Sky Nomad deck, where I'm a pretty obvious and standard blink deck...but I went out of my way to make sure the total power and toughness of all the creatures added up to 182. It's nowhere near perfect and the goal is to loop Yorion and Felidar Guardian to keep all of my blinking permanents jumping in and out of exile until someone can stop the loop, but it was a fun challenge to build while keeping everything at the 182 goal.
Yo, that sounds like a sick deck, you got a decklist I can buy? sounds like my kinda deck!
*sees 3 hour video*
"What the hell is going on with these guys?"
*Richard* : "Hey guys, my deck plays like eggs."
"Oh, that makes sense...Lol"
*Thanks for the Clash On Content* !
Richard's deck was sweet.
Seth's deck was too.
I pity Tomer for having to edit the longest game of the season in one day, lol.
Felidar Guardian + Glorious Protector go infinite together. Richard doesn't need these convoluted ways to loop. Just put the Felidar trigger on the stack first, targeting the Protector and put everything under the Protector. Protector exiles everything, then gets blinked by Felidar. Repeat. Congrats, infinite.
We need more Richard content! Absolutely love him.
oh man, richard not leaving mana up for the counter spell was hard to watch. he still won in my book though, he had the cards to win but got distracted by the friendly banter.
That game was absolutely phenomenal. It had so many phases to it, and the ending was almost poetry.
Never thought I'd enjoy watching a 3 hour video of a mono-white storm deck as it just spins its wheels until it times out, but Crim and Richard's constant upbeat attitude kept things interesting the whole time. The Crim and Richard dynamic where Richard is trying to figure out how to make the most unlikely jank combo deck work and Crim taunting Richard into punting just enough so he eeks out a victory was just delightful to watch
A note for Phil on Roon since he might not know this. If you activate on a commander, theres a chance to perma-exile a commander. The player with the exiled commander has to choose whether to wait for the end step trigger and have their card come back, or just send it to the command zone. The trick is if you have Stifle effects, you can counter the return to battlefield trigger and strand their commander in exile forever.
Oh god that's brutal xD
That's art i love that.
That is so mean 😂
Pretty sure you can infinitely loop Protector and Felidar if they enter play at the same time. Felidar Guardian trigger targeting Glorious Protector goes on the stack first, then Glorious Protector trigger targeting Felidar Guardian and whatever else you want to get value out of goes on after. Protector exiles Guardian, then gets blinked by Guardian's trigger, and because of how the triggers are worded, they see each other enter the battlefield and you can repeat this process for value.
Yeah. And neither of those cards even have any risk of exiling things permanently. The worst that can happen is breaking the loop and leaving things you want out stuck under the Protector, which he kept doing anyway. To be fair, Crim could have broken the loop with Parallax Wave the first time he had both cards out, but he had opportunities later.
There is a enternal witness for the exile zone and it is called Riftsweeper. Though it can only target face-up exiled cards
And it puts it on bottom or shuffles in I believe? Still good though. I remember it used to see play in cEDH Gitrog decks because you can loop it to keep getting elvish spirit guide back lol
Absolutely loving the Smash themed intros! What a terrific way to introduce the players and decks.
Land Tax Deck Thinning Math: Every time you pull three lands out with Land Tax, it increases your odds of drawing a non-land for turn by 2-2.2%, cumulatively for every every activation. By the fourth activation, Richard's deck would go from 35% chance of drawing lands to 26%. It's substantial.
I'm firmly in the camp that you should always pull three lands and discard the extra, unless you're sincerely worried about decking out or mass land destruction.
On this week of "Punt or Bluff?" the kiddie gloves come off! Will Crim use his doppelganger to do seriously unfair things with enchantments or will Phil just blink his way to value-town. Tune in to find out!
My favorite personal memory is meeting Crim at a twitch streamer meet right before covid, and every time I see him pop up, I feel a little personal win. I just wish I thought to bring my decks to the meet xD
I laughed so hard at 20:06 when Crim proudly declared "I'm a gamer" after topdecking a land
That was a Richard win. Kind of lame to mind flood him more than 1 time guys. I'm glad you're all good enough friends that you can have a laugh about it afterwards.
lol how are you salty for someone else

Richard: Alright Crim, you've weaseled your way into second, time to go for gold!
MTGO clock: I'm about to end this man's whole combo.
Yes, Vince timed out on the D&D episode a couple seasons back when Tom filled in for Richard. Seth had no business winning with his "Bard" deck, but it worked
This game was hilarious. I love you guys.
It's a long game. But watched until the end. It's worth it.
It’s incredible that Crim is able to either style or colour his hair differently every week, thanks for the content and style
Given the number of times Crim has punted due to mtgo online interface it's nice to see him turn that sword on his opponent's.
Richard uses phyrexian oil for his car.
IIRC it's a really good moisturizer, you never a flakey phyrexian, they all look more oozy.
For so many parallax activations and Richard deck having the way to lose all the creatures if stack wrongs the triggers, didn't click with Crim that he could exile 5 cards if he responded to the exile trigger with his commander activation.
1:57:53 "This would be the perfect use for 'Secret Rendez-vous'" -- Richard
Insane game. I love Ghen, and I’m super glad to see the deck. I think there’s so many build paths, I start on Pestillence, and shifted over to Lilliana’s Contract/Demon Tribal.
I think the Kibler F6 might be the most iconic magic moment in my mind
That game was hilarious 😂
Should have played Parallax wave a bit more smart when you had Ghen - get it in play then stack up 5 activations before using Ghen's ability to swap it for Revel. Then the trigger tries to return all the creatures, of which there are none. Then the abilities all resolve and exile 5 things. And it's repeatable every other turn.
Loving Crim's new dye-job
I'm calling it: next week Richard is playing birds. Just birds...
...with Stryxhaven Stadium.
About the convo @ 33:35
The trick with Parallax Wave is to put tall the activations on the stack and respond to the last one by sacrificing/killing the wave in response so the creatures become exiled forever.
So a line could be here is reanimate wave pass turn upkeep remove 1 due to fading then just wipe the board with Wave+Ghen.
“what tires do you use?”
THERE IS NO LOOP IM JUST CLICKING BUTTONS!
Clash on!!!
My new year's resolution was remember to tap like 😂
I just wish Richard had countered the Phyrexian Arena so Crim couldn't get the last Parallax Wave back.
Add doom foretold to the ghen list and it’s all time fire 🔥
2:19:56 isn't there a card in exile that has a flashback-like ability to blink for 2 mana that Richard could have Pulled from Eternity to reset the loop with?
Also, since both Felidar Guardian and Leonin Relic-Warder were in play, Richard technically could have gone "infinite" with the Coveted Jewel, then replaced it with a proper mana rock to keep going when his deck was low on cards.
I use Tel Jilad Stylus in any deck that has the words "search" and "library" in its text
Loved it. That ending and talk tactic was priceless
I like Seth's Plargg deck, I was thinking of making a Plargg that gets Sunforger but this is probably better
Great game guys
lol my next deck is going to be voltron monkey! thanks for the inspiration
This was hilarious.
My plargg glimpse of tomorrow deck is my favorite!!! And goes off around turn 6, which is crazy
Phil really is Seth 2.0
Why does Seth always sound like he's going through an existential crisis when he attacks Richard
He doesn't want to get the boss get mad at him. Otherwise I don't know why they keep letting Richard do as he wants.
Richard getting his boots back was a cool play, imo, because it was Seth who paid mana to cast it.
If you want a theme to try, how about All-Multicolour? Everybody builds decks whose nonland cards must be multicolour (split cards that include monocoloured halves aren't allowed!).
They did that years ago in I think season 3 but it would be sweet to revisit.
Was this the one Tomer had to emergency edit? if so, thank you!
Another way to go infinite in mono white is Karmic Guide + Fiend Hunter + a sac outlet (Phyrexian Altar, Altar of Dementia, etc.)
3h runtime here we go
CLASH ON!
Editor, please add an animation for when someone says clash on!
I feel like crim was having a great time :)
Is there a reason why Richard didn't try to counter teferi's protection with lapse of certainty?
Out of mana
Riftsweeper puts the exiled card to library. Close.
"It does get back the Felidar Guardian."
"..."
"...Am I dead?"
finaly mono wight spell slinger!!!
Poor Phil eating the Curse of Being dogpiled.
Everyone immediately forgot their new years resolution to target Richard!!
The moment the Felidar was on the field they should had done something. but no.... they just let Richard do as he wanted, again. I don't thing they are ever going to learn their lesson anymore. It's so annoying to me.
Pull from Eternity to your hand on a creature would be too good... prime example... Teferi's Protection and a Blink creature/permanent... cast TP and Exile it, Blink PFE creature and get back TP... rinse and repeat until you win lol
We see you Tomer!
Clash on!
Wait, how are Plargg and Augusta the same person? Maybe i should really read into strixhaven lore.
This win... I wouldn't count it as such in the statistics ;)
wonder what the chances are that somebody picks the ghen deck i submitted last night for viewer submitted week when crim just played ghen this week 🤷♀️
It's happened before but it's been awhile.
As an old player who knows how fading works, watching that Parallax Wave misplay sequence was hilarious.
Seth just did the glimpse of tomorrow combo I proposed for last viewers submitted decks with my Codie brew. I'm glad to see the combo, but I'm sad he refused to do it with my deck. All my instants and sorceries were exactly the same CMC, so, with codie, you would immediately get the Glimpse of Tomorrow cast for sure.
I hear Richards intro, I look at time stamp….I laugh.
Clash on
Crim, you ran two of the Talisman but not the third, Talisman of Indulgence. Did you see how strong your start was? That's what happens when you run ramp cards, Crim. Load up on Signets as well, and suddenly you stop losing to yourself.
Hubris thy name is Richard. Richard Hubris. It is not a common name, but it is his name.
I want Crim to win this one. I have a Ghen deck with the same name. Lol
Hopefully so it's never done anything on any magic gameplay video I've watched before.
@@kingfuzzy2 neither has my Ghen deck (but it's fun), that's why I'm rooting for Crim. Lol
right on ( :
Ragavan is red rampant growth
Hopeing for mono white storm to destroy everyone ( :
This has got to be *spoiler*'s ideal way to win a game
Beautifully so.
Crim could have won with revel no?
Lol so I worldfired my group after floating mana and played ragavan…they were not happy
I'm learning how to beat Richard is give him triggers to respond to.
Opening killed me the Smash Bros song and the animation is so silly.
Is it a still combo if you screw it up and thus it's not infinite OR able to end the game? Deep thoughts!
That's just synergy 😛
Next time just focus Richard from the start
1:48:00 Phil asks why he's dead and everyone else is at 20+ Life. The answer is very easy: Seth hit Phil to a low health total, and Phil's response to that was... to threaten everyone with lethal in two turns. Avenger of Zendikar was a *very* dangerous pick to tutor face-up and then play against a bunch of flying threats. If you play Avenger, either people kill you, or you kill the table. They killed the Avenger player.
lol yeah xD
I wonder how much crim spends on hair dye each year.
What amazing decks! I really wish we could have seen more of Phil's though. I will say that taking a time out win while at the same time actively trying to distract the player doing a complex combo is kind of a dick move. At any other casual table, the other person would have scooped
That was such a funny way for it to end but please don’t make it a habit I know I would be frustrated in Richard position
I really hope this is counted as a win for Richard in the statistics, even if the end result is entertaining. I’d be fine if it was normal slow play or something, but it was literally only due modo being slow and him being distracted by constant questions and such - twice. He demonstrated a loop that he was going to win with. It’s easily his game.
I enjoyed the episode, but it was really bad form for Seth and Crim to consciously distract Richard while he was trying to combo, especially given all the times Crim himself has struggled with MODO's interface.
Can we get a season of CC where no one is allowed to play Commanders that have been played on the show before? We've seen soooo many Roon decks, two of which were named Blink 182. There is a treasure trove of Commanders out there that you all have never tried.
Phil hasn't tried it though :) It would be a shame if he never got to try a bunch of the format just because he's a late arrival.
@@TMidander There is a lot to experience still.
I'd like that there is plenty of underplayed commanders out there.
@@TMidander Maybe make it specific to the person? That would fix the issue.
