when taalia had the niv, the prodigy and the ageless insight on the field she would have drawn 4 cards and could have pinged 8 times for every instant/sorcery cast.
-niv triggers to draw a card
-trigger gets copied by prodigy
-draws get doubled by insight
--> 1*2*2=4
-4 cards are drawn
-niv triggers 4 seperate times
-each trigger gets copied

Just as a reminder for the flicker on the end step once it's on the end step you cannot Target the same card all the triggers go on the stack at once and targeting all at once. So for an example if you target Charming prints with Thassa you can Target with teleportation Circle but it won't see the original Charming prints because it's no longer there just for future games
Did you spell “prince” the noun as “prints” the verb? I haven’t watched the episode yet so there could be a funnier card that I am unaware of.
Definitely feels like we need to have a CGB/Talia week, where they both bring obnoxious counterspelly blue decks and the home team packs a bunch of blue hosers into their decks
Or better yet, have CGB and Talia make decks for Olivia and Eilidh and vice versa. That would be amazing. Watch CGB play Mono Red Aggro and Eilidh play oops, no creatures lmaooo
I haven't even gotten to the end but I love all of these commanders. Card draw, card draw, card draw, and blink! What's not to love?

Headology went from chill to absolute menace is no time at all. That whole game looked like fun.
I had to check my collection too see if my Roon deck had been stolen. It had not! And yet here it is, on the screen!
Headology don't feel guilty about your deck doing its thing! It was awesome to see.

niw + harmonic + teferis ageless leads to : 1 instant/sorcery : 4 draw 8 damage (niv got 2 draw triggers thanks to prodigy, each draw trigger draw 2 thanks to tef ageless, so 4 ) each draw triggers niv ping 2 times thanks to harmonic, again.
Harmonic is the best ally of niv, by far. Meant to be partners :D and if the instant/sorc is making you draw its even more.
Harmonic Prodigy is also very fun in an Inalla deck with all of those wizards. Easily my favorite tribe. It gets pretty complicated at times.
Niv-mizzet parun was my first commander deck so I’m always glad to see the old boy piloted well. Awesome episode ladies!!
'Niv-Mizzet, Lizard Wizard' is how you say it correctly. Love mine too!
About the niv mizzet triggers. Teferis enchantment says if you draw a card draw 2 intead, with niv triggers doubled from the shaman. Meaning when an instant/sorcery is cast niv triggers 2 times making it draw 2 card that with teferi ench. Makes it 4 cards, niv sees that and the trigger is doubled again meaning niv has 8 pings. Had a niv deck broke it down because of this math chaos. :)
In case you forgot the equation it is: (Z->) - (E-N²W)t = 1 I did exclude the 90 degrees, but if you know it's there then you know it's there.

Point of order: Soulherder, Thasa, Teleportation circle, these all trigger at the start of your End Step, which means you should not be able to flicker the same target more than once as after the first trigger resolves, the following triggers lose their target.
It was a trigger heavy match, so naturally something got played wrong.
Parallax Wave isn't sacrificed when the last counter is removed. It's sacrificed at your upkeep if you are unable to remove a counter. 😉
I have been seeing this more and more, where people think Fading = Vanishing. The Blastoderms dying early in one of the Professor's vids is another example.
But, as long as everyone is on the same page in the game it doesn't matter.

As someone whose first ever Commander Deck was Niv-Mizzet, Parun, I feel the struggle of trying to remember all the triggers and the huuuuuuge honkin' stacks with all the instant interaction.
Then again, it is a really great deck to train yourself to remember triggers and resolve the stack correctly.
I actually used Tokens to represent effects on the stack because it would just get far too complicated to remember :'D
Haha I love it. I've been playing the deck a lot more the past few weeks and really got it down now. So fun!
I feel like Taalia was very nice with her Niv draw/damage triggers in the early game, sending them to face rather than sniping out all the small creatures on board. The game would have been very different and all the flicker value would have never happened

The deck was pretty hard build the way to do what we saw at this game.
She had tutors to get the lotus early and more to enable an early mizzed.
I think more that deck was in the wrong pod.

I have a cycling deck with a Shrine sub-theme. Sliver Queen is the Commander… because Queen…Freddie Mercury wants to ride his BIIIICYCLE! BIIIICYCLE! And who doesn’t have a shrine to Freddie?

One thing to note, I believe Olivia's Shark would return to her side of the field, not the command zone. When Headology dies, her effects end first, so the gain control disappears and it returns to her (Olivia's) side of the field. If Headology had used some effect like casting the Shark, then it would get exiled/sent back to the command zone :) One of those weird interactions I didn't know the difference about (when an opponent dies), until I faced someone with a steal deck
Fun fact about fading, it wouldn't have really affected the game, but the sacrifice is an upkeep trigger. So you can have a fading card with no fading counters on it for a turn cycle, it doesn't go away until the fading goes on the stack on your upkeep.

Have you guys considered getting another person to just be there as like a moderator? Someone that deeply understands priority, the stack, triggers and interactions? Let's be real: Magic is a complex game, and keeping everything running smoothly during these dumb shenanigans is difficult 😂If this was a possibility, it would greatly reduce the amount of missed triggers and misunderstood interactions, and I feel that it would also alleviate a lot of the extra thinking pressure from y'all, so that you can focus on your decisions and enjoyment more.

Half of the fun _is_ the silly stuff. These aren't competitive games. Having a moderator/judge/outside observer/rules lawyer would take away the spontaneity, the naturalness, the good vibe feel and some of the hijinks. Let's face it, we're all here for hijinks. It's fun, it's silly and goofy and it is as Olivia says: "casual, ridiculous Commander."
Something like that works for more serious Commander channels but in my opinion,it wouldn't work here and I don't feel that it is needed. Long live Hijinks, I say! 🙂
he sure is right, hijinks it the mood here, plus, if you add someone who has to basically folow triggers and check gamestate constantly, you will think less, maybe to the point you don't even realise what you can trigger with a spell in your hand.
Agent of Treachery stole all those commanders and at least the remembered the Niv triggers, but the shark is also getting bigger and there are hidden blockers in a pinch.
Another fun game and a fun ladies night all around 😊. I hope Olivia has now learned how to reset her life back to 40 😁 So how many games are played before the record button is hit? Congrats to the winner 👏
Ooof...if poor Headology could gotten a grasp on all her triggers, she definitely would have lived a lot longer.

We all know agent of treachery sucks but when it took niv it was just like well that happened let's keep playing.

As a life long izzet and specifically niv mizzet player. I did get hurt a few times from the triggers being wonky. But it was still fun to see niv played a bit :D
My friends just got me into magic this year and my favorite deck is Ranar, 39:30 is what I feel like all the time lol. Loving this content 😄
Tiny nuance with parallax wave is that fading forces you to sac it on your upkeep if there are no counters on it after you attempt to remove one, not when the last counter is removed in the previous end step. Really fun card that I haven’t gotten to play just yet
I feel like board wipes (especially cyc rift) are there to help you win, as are most cards in your deck, and that they are most effective towards the mid/end of a game to stop someone else from winning. Drawing them and not playing them due to a rule seems like the victory isn't real when you should be trying to win, regardless of how long the game will go for. I for one enjoy seeing longer games which end up showing more plays and more complexity
This is why I look forward to Thursdays.
They complain about her taking the shark, but she never used it. She was supposed to gain life on every draw, and she had a lot ( with her also having niv and trailblazer. ) she would also have a massive flying threat because the shark also gets counters when she draws.
My two paper commander desks which I'm currently binging out are Jeskai Spells and Yorion Blink so I am totally here for the decks (and am totally grabbing some extra cards from the decklists)
QUEZA! She's so much fun! definitely needs a copy of Lich's Mastery in the list. Drawing your whole deck off of a single lifegain trigger is hilarious.

Worth noting when headology died, Olivia would get the shark back in play, as it changed control so the control effect ends and is returned under Olivia's control.
If headology had cast it or it came into play under their control instead then it would have been exiled.
Headology was just too nice. Having skyshark and Niv and a million triggers and not just tearing everybody apart to keep the game going... Get vicious! Own it! Pop off, queen!

40:00 or so, the Recruiter was still in exile from the Charming Prince when the Soul Herder trigger was going on the stack, so it couldn't have been blinked that turn by the Soul Herder or Thassa.
I've also got a blink deck and yeah, all the triggers can get confusing, so it's an easy mistake to make.
At 53:00 Headology blinks the Charming Prince with both the Teleportation Circle and Soul Herder, this shouldn't work because all the triggers go on the stack at the same time and the second one to resolve will lose track of its target when the first one resolves.
1:01 Headology is actually correct here, Olivia should have gotten Shabraz back. It entered under her control and was being affected by a continuous effect that ended with Ari's death, so it should revert to it's previous controller.
Unless I missed it getting blinked by Thassa at some point?

Great episode. Felt a lil bad for Headology as she was doing great but I think she might have felt a bit guilty at how well she was doing and perhaps how long some of her turns might have taken + stealing peoples stuff lol. Roon was awesome and would have loved to see Headology not long for her own death and hold back towards the end but I can understand that feeling of guilt and playing that sorta deck can defo makes you a target. GG to all though and yay for new shiny esper deck!
Haha I know the feeling, playing Agent in Yarok, especially when it steals multiple things. But Ari is a pro and a good sport to boot! If she felt so inclined I rate she could have stolen all the things 🤣
I have been SOUNDLY reprimanded by a friend for not being cutthroat enough. However, I really love to see other decks go off. EDH has always been about fun and friends for me ❤

I actually agree with the fierce here, feel like the not scary part about smothering tithe is it isnt card draw. but in the card draw deck... a lot of extra mana could be bad, and against niv and sharkboy and sharky.

I have a personal hatred for flicker decks, so it was painful to watch their creatures not be pinged by Niv until Niv was stolen.
Headology was nice about it, and played it as fairly as possible, but still it was a monster.

I definitely do feel a bit bad, like last night was my first night back at teh game store commander night after winning the tyrranid deck in a prize raffle, (I've had a few things on Tuesdays meaning I can't go every week but hopefully they are gone for a while) but yeah brand new and never touched and i played it all night and i dunno didn't really get the success in games (there was also some salty players which kinda aww modd killed) but yeah I've been working on improving Kruphix and Zur and Sek'Kuar while building the new decks (whcih just keep coming to mind)
