We're doing a viewer submitted Commander Clash soon! If you want a chance for your deck to show up on Commander Clash, head over to the community tab and drop your decklist in the post.
They are currently reconsidering the format. The continuation is in doubt, and it might be altered or canceled. Viewership is considerably down from regular episodes, so reasonable question. At least that what I've gathered from a comment below an earlier episode this season. Some love it and will miss it, if it ends up discontinued. But I guess if the numbers show a lack of interest, it's not feasible.
I really like the camera angle on your portraits. It really makes it seem like you guys are playing at the table despite being countries apart lol. Keep it up guys!
Loving the paper content guys! Getting all the players board vs primarily just one players is really nice. Also, Confounding Conundrum drew waaaay more hate than it deserved. It doesn't "shut off" anything as kept being said, it just turns land ramp into land tutors to hand. It's certainly no Opposition Agent or anything.
Seth brutally beating down the table with a sword of feast and famine/expropriate just made my week. PS, I feel like I need to see Crim win some games, stop hating him off the table every week 😅 Thanks for the content guys!
Great job Seth. Somehow you weren’t targeted after playing a second commander. Hey Crim. You did nothing wrong and were still targeted. That’s the sign of a great mtg player.
The "best" deck would probably often end up being a stock list for the colour combo. E.g. a Dakkon Blackblade deck wouldn't be about lands or voltron; it'd be a Demonic Consultation into Thassa's Oracle combo with a ton of tutors
@@ImJustHereToWatch14 I mean that's real, but there are commanders that you can leverage in interesting ways if you know your pod isn't going to crush you into the ground with their commander. I'm not expecting lands or Voltron Dakkon, but there's a middle ground where commanders are powerful but not overplayed.
When a new set comes out Play to Win does this with new commanders from it, looks like it would be fun to do. I personally wish they’d ban Partner commanders, gets boring seeing them every cEDH game
Hey Crew loving the paper games this season! However I wish you guys would do more niche themes that take advantage of the fact that you’re no longer using MTGO. For instance everyone makes a non-legendary creature their commander, silver-border week (silver border cards are legal), No ban list week, Planeswalker week , etc
This is already possible on MTGO through Freeform commander, I think they have already tried it. But I agree, would be cool to see more unorthodox commander games!
@@DiscardatRandom justice geddes, he has openly expressed transphobia, mysogeny, homophobia, and racism. He's also voiced support for Halord McNeill (you know the guy who drew racist cards).
I'm really digging the paper format and editing style. I know you guys complain about not being able to get all the new cards on MOTO, and it's always interesting to see what you guys are cooking up in paper.
Since you film your episodes with the top camera view I'm actually excited for new episodes and you climed up to one of my fav. edh game formats. Thank you for that :)
Once again expressing my love of paper over MTGO. So much of those games seem to be just waiting for the engine to catch up. Plus it's great to have a full proper view of all boards.
I'm convinced that Phil picks his deck based on the shirt he pulled out of the closet that day. Also Confounding Conundrum is cool, but it ironically helps Landfall decks.
Great episode! This one was a lot of fun. I’m still n out a huge fan of the paper magic format, but the editing has improved a lot over the last couple episodes.
Killing Crim first because he played a confounding conundrum doesn't make a ton of sense. . . If it's like late in the game, and he'd die quick, it makes sense, but it's not like you get the conundrum removed in time for you to ramp. Which makes it feel kind of vindictive.
@@Andrewlstewart I've played it a bunch of times, without it drawing a ton of aggro. . . It's not like confounding conundrum makes someone a threat... And killing someone first who isn't a threat is poor threat assessment. Which isn't the card's fault.
On this week of "Punt or Bluff?" Seth has been distilled and injected into us. Will Phil get *even more value* from a few bears or will Crim shapeshift into The Professor? Tune-in to find out!
At around 25 minute, Coat of Arms gives creatures +1/+1 for each other creature of the same type, weren't there your four Merfolk, each gaining +3/+3 and not +4/+4?
The Crim hate is rough, and just because of the Conundrum? C'mon guys, every week hating out Crim first gets old. On top of that, he comes to the table with the best attitude each week, imo. I'm not sure I could do the same being the first one out every time.
Funny expropriate story I was playing a game when a player cast expropriate and when I asked what it did the person who played it read it and then said they were voting for time and I tried to respond but they said since they had already voted I couldn’t respond which for some reason the rest of the table agreed with however on their extra turn they tried to cast another extra turn spell which I stole with sudden substitution and killed them on my extra turn
How expensive would be cameras and lights that would make the cards bit more readable? I am genuinely asking because for example on Seths board everything is so badly visible
I think, I remember, they said they are going to be all physical except for certain matches. Such as Chaos week. I wouldn't be surprised if Viewer decks also get played on MTGO just to make it easiest on everyone.
I really enjoy these physical episodes! Guessing it may have to do with Ultimate Guard promotion, but hope it continues! Much more fun to watch than MTGO! Also...how do people like Ultimate Guard? Sleeves and matts? Interested.
I'll preamble with the disclaimer that we're sponsored by them, because that might inform things. Their Katana line of sleeves are some of the best I've played with, and they're the ones that feel best to shuffle of any sleeves I've used so far, they're really smooth without being slippery (after the initial few shuffles)
I'll preface this by saying I'm not sponsored (and that I'm presuming you didn't ask specifically just the MTGGoldfish crew). I think the Katanas have an excellent shuffle feel, and I really like their deck boxes (Boulders, Flip n Tray, Sidewinder) and binders I've bought over the years. Dragon Shield Art Mattes are still the superior sleeves for me though.
soon as i saw what seth was running i was rooting for him and that last turn.. wow. need to make this for myself. which is nice that the only card in seth's list i don't own over $10 is black market connections and it doesn't feel necessary.
This isn't a major complaint, but I think this shows why avoiding generically powerful cards like expropriate/insurrection makes for better content. I get that Seth played it because it's a voting deck (though that of course makes it even more powerful), but as usual Expropriate just ends the game pretty anti-climactically. I also think the sound effects could be turned down even more. It's much better than the first game with all the loud whoosh cuts, but is a damage sound even needed? Or maybe just something less sharp
Do y'all have all the cards for a dozen decks across the season or order them a week in advance or what? Curious about the logistics for doing a new deck each week.

Stats episode!!!
Cool. Return to MTGO and stop doing this in paper.
@@goatnapped guessing they won't be switching in the middle of a season but keep fighting the good fight
Are you guys gonna do the end of season stats episode?
I love how Richard casts can't wake up....and seth and Crim immediately can't resist humming/singing the rest of the song😂😂😂😂
Hey guys. Are we going to get a stats episode for last season? Those are my favorite episodes the whole season.
Yeeees- stats, I hadn’t even thought about that
I second this. The stats episodes are always fun. I wonder how much green crim played this past season.

imagine how much more success the d&d set would have been if it would have come same time as teh bg3 launch xD
Seriously. Big missed opportunity.
I believe it was supposed to line up better but then the game got delayed. Also dont forget releasing it 1 month before the masters set
The set is also so much better than it has gotten credit for - especially in limited.
Seth coming in thinking it was Crim week with that deck 🤣
Props to Phil for making the most American of puns his deck building inspiration!
Captain WHAT!!!!!

Great job Seth. Somehow you weren’t targeted after playing a second commander.
Hey Crim. You did nothing wrong and were still targeted. That’s the sign of a great mtg player.
I would watch the hell out of a commander series that's just cEDH players trying to break randomly assigned commanders with under a thousand decks.
