Have driven over 3 million miles. Pulled doubles up and down the NY Thruway. Can backup a single trailer anywhere with relative ease. Was never able to backup doubles without ending up looking like an over baked pretzel. Nice job!
I loved that even when the worker was satisfied with your parking you chose to straighten out and make good enough into prefect. That's the difference between a steering wheel holder and a truck driver.
I like the tractor in line with the trailer and the steering tires straight too. Also it can’t be crooked even if the whole set is straight. It’s a pride thing.
@@blauer2551 I know I'm the same way. I'll even get out and measure with my foot how far away I am from each line in truck stops. I hate not being centered in the stall.
Naw, that's a step up from a truck driver, that's a trucker. The steering wheel holder doesn't have self respect or pride, the truck driver has just enough self respect for "good enough", and those of us who are truckers, aren't satisfied until it's perfect.
@@mail_liw, 😂 sometimes the painter had a bad day and no amount of trying will get us straight in between the lines. I have had times where I will be absolutely perfect with the line on the driver side and get out and the passenger line is 2 feet off the steer, and by the time I get to the spread axle, it's 5 feet, 😂.
It’s amazing how many shippers and receivers stand inside the “black hole” and try to direct drivers. They just don’t know that they can’t be seen. You had a good helper here. God job. Patience wins again.
CALLTHEMALL shows us his exemplary driving skills, on both his GOOD, and BAD days. It’s what I like about his channel, and says much about his character. Well done!
On March 3, 1969 the Canadian trucking industry established an elite school for the top one percent of its drivers. Its purpose was to teach the lost art of truck driving and to insure that the handful of men who graduated were the best drivers in the world. They succeeded. Today, they call it CDL school. The drivers call it: TOP GUN Nah, scratch that, just hand out those licenses like candy on Halloween. Nice driving. I always love the B train content.
Nice job Matt, not your best but you didn't hit anything & it's in the door, that's what matters. I think your setup was all wrong to begin with but I see the traffic on the road, that will throw you off just trying to hurry up and get out of their way. You never want to hold up 4 wheelers they're always in a hurry to get nowhere! LOL Great video, thanks for sharing!👍👍 Have a nice weekend!! Stay safe and heathy out there. Spoke to ya later and I'm back quiet.😎
Yeah looking back at the video I found the point that I should have started cracking the wheel, and I just missed the Mark by a second or two, and that made all the difference! Those pesky four wheelers!
This man can drive a truck... I have driven all my life in construction, lowboy and heavy haul, and for a short time B-Trains "steel".... But with the trains all I could do was back up straight with 'em. Many people can not back them up at all....much less like this. Patients and experience is the ticket.
Utmost respect for these guy's as i have driven a 8 wheeler ridged in UK with a trailer on the back what us old timers call a Dog & pup but to reverse a Artic with a trailer on the back as well and being near 70 ft long i suspect Amazing driving 😁😁🤘🤘🤘
Your a very patient man, if it was me I'd be doing a war dance by the end of that, i drive what we call super b-doubles in Australia, 2 quad axle trailers rated to 117 ton, the rear axle on each trailer steers around corners going forwards and is meant to lock in straight when reversing, every now and again they wont lock in and trailers go crazy steering all over the place, grouse fun
there was a place in Dundas Ontario that had an inside dock, the guys from Stelco would drive into the dock (tractor first) with their B trains and unload coil steel with an over head crane. When empty they would back out of the dock and by the time the trailers were jack-knifed the tractor would be outside and able to pull away.
Not Many can recognize missing the target to get a better setup. Takes a lot to impress me, that wasn't too bad. *Side note*, most of the drivers in Texas can't back up Bobtailing.
Watching this gives me such crazy anxiety, that skill and talent you have to be able to do this and maintain composure is wild to me. I couldn't do this.

I plan on doing a video on this exact thing at some point! Basically it has a bit more deck space, easier to get axle weights right while loading, turns corners tighter, better on rough and bumpy terrain, no lift/spif steer axles (in Canada at least) there’s a few more things that I can’t remember right now, but yeah basically one of the only downsides is backing them up!!
Your a very patient man, how long are the decks on your trailers, I drive what we call super b-doubles in OZ, 2 x 40 feet decks with quad axles, full combo rated at 117 tons, the rear axle on each trailer steers around corners going forward and is meant to lock in straight reversing, but every now and again it'll stay active and abosolutely blow out your manoeuvres, great fun
