    Drove B trains for over 3 decades. Most of our deliveries were easy in/easy out (gas stations etc.) but any time I had an unfamiliar call and/or a place I couldn't see an exit from, I'd go for a walk and scope it out first. Nothing takes the "good" out of a day quicker than "Oh Oh!" 😄

    • @callthemall
      @callthemall  Год назад +16

      Oh yeah I try to do that every time too but I had nowhere to park beforehand this time. I scoped the place out on Google maps beforehand but sometimes ya don’t know what entrance they’re going to want you to take so you just kinda guess!

    I have full respect for u, someone that can back b-trains like it's a pickup truck and trailer, and work under pressure plus work in tight spaces with a semi is a legend to me. I can take advice from my dad and u when it comes to driving a large car, someone day I can use it.💙👍

    Awesome video. I know I wouldn't be that calm backing a b train up. But I know a couple guys that pull doubles and triples, and when they have to back up they use a drone. They send the drone straight up over top of their truck, so they can see cars coming from both directions and also see any blind spots nearby.

  • @superflo9768

    I've only been on b trains for two months now. My first real challenge was after the first month I had to drop them off at a small garage on a rural road for service. Ended up having to blind side them off the road around their parked cars, between the shop and another trailer, a whole lot of getting out to look. Major kudos here.

    • @havok9001
      @havok9001 Год назад

      i say some of those cars that parked right there sure move on the spot where they work at cuz the job site sure have parking spot cross from them also a truck back up or around into the area

    I never had the urge to want to even try B trains. On that intersection you said “can’t take that lane” I would have 100 percent taken that lane.
    Also, would recommend getting a steering wheel spinner knob. Makes quick turns with just one hand while shifting so much easier and smooth.

    Can you post a how to video on how you back up B trains. I was just given a set at work and pulled into a driveway yesterday and had to back down the entire road to turn around. More stress than I enjoyed lol

    • @kerrryschultz2904
      @kerrryschultz2904 Год назад

      Flatbedder just practice backing up a lot. Straight backing b trains make small corrections. When backing around corners learn to use all the road particularly setting up your rear trailer initially makes all the difference . As you progress you will get a feel for the positioning and angles to get the b or super b into some very tight spots. Don't ever be ashamed to stop and get out and look if you don't know your clearances. Better a slight delay than filling out an accident report because I didn't look.The front trailer is the steering for the rear and the tractor at times has to do an extreme angle to initiate or correct an angle provided there is enough room to manouvere, but all that comes with experience. Good Luck. Ps I have had at times had to parrallel park a b train but that came with a lot of previous practice,
