    I'm a recovering alcoholic (11+ years sober). My pets kept me alive at my worst; I couldn't let them down. They would drape themselves across me and stayed with me constantly. Some have gone on across the Rainbow Bridge, but I continue to dote on my senior cat who was there for the bad times. Sobriety brought me many gifts -- good job, a house and car that are paid for, a wonderful partner, and the restored trust of my family. I pray for this man that he may find his way to a better life.

    I felt so sorry for the men that was an alcoholic living on his barge. When people are alone and they have a pet and then that pet goes missing it’s like the end of the world for the person. You just can’t see any light at the end of that dark dark endless tunnel so I’m glad he has his dog back with him and hopefully he could move on in a positive way with his life and perhaps quit drinking because drinking isn’t getting him anywhere except for the hospital.
    The last story of the diabetic woman who was fighting cancer, who was having a bad diabetic Lo, reminded me of me. I’ve been a type one diabetic for 53 years. I turned into a diabetic when I was nine years old and when I was sexually assaulted in September 2001, my diabetes was affected greatly. I lost my mind because of the assault, and my control of my diabetes went out of the window. All of a sudden I’d be sitting on the corner of the bed drinking a large glass of milk filled with sugar and vanilla, and I was sipping it through a straw, and it worked so fast on me. My husband said I passed out in the bathroom, and he and my son went in and picked me up and brought me to the bed. Sometimes it can’t be helped that we have severe Lo’s like that because we’re not doing it. It’s our bodies doing it. At times, there could be a pocket of insulin that had been stuck between the skin and the fat or between the fat and muscle of our bodies and it gets released and so we have more insulin in our system than what we thought. With me, my pancreas has been known to give me insulin and so it’s hard to control kind of situations that are going on. But I’m glad that the lady got help and felt much better in the ambulance.
    I feel sorry for the elderly they’re just left on their own without a care or anybody thinking about them and they have a hard time doing things for themselves, but they’ll sit for months and months without asking for help so I’m glad the ambulance person asked if he wanted social services to give him a call and he said yes so that’s great.
    Now the one that touched me, the most was the little guy that burnt himself. My little guy was so strong that I had put him in the bathtub and I turned and walked to the sink, which was about 6 or 7 feet away. All of a sudden, I heard the water running and my screaming little guy and he had tried to pull himself up on the bathtub taps and it couldn’t be the cold one that he had on it was the hot one and in the apartments hot water was very hot so anyways he ended up burning himself 30% of his body Down the left side. I grabbed the towel put it in Coldwater right away, wrapped it around his body and they did it again and again. My mom came over and took us to a walk-in clinic right away where the doctor phoned an ambulance and what they did in the ambulance is that the had these plastic rowboat shaped things and they placed cold water in there and they put my son in it so that the blisters wouldn’t come up. I had told them that on the towel in the apartment it had skin on it already. Just listening to that little boy cry brought back so many memories. It was six months later that I went to the hospital so that they could give my son a final check initially they had taken pictures of him because they thought I did it on purpose, but when they saw him six months later, could not believe that he did not scar at all Because he should’ve. I told them that I was told to do it once every day just clean his skin and put the cream on it that they had given me. What I did was do it every diaper change and yes, I went through a lot of cream and a lot of netting and gauze, but in the end it saved my son from scarring. The only time you could tell my son suntans and that part gets just a tad darker in color. But he’s 40 years old now and he’s doing well and no scars whatsoever. So the nurses put down in the report that there was no abuse by the mom whatsoever and I was happy with that. It was true. It was an accident.

      19:34 is there no such thing as a three day hold in the UK? We call this a 5150 in the US. David should not have been let go from the first pick up. Also, why couldn’t he call the RSPCA to help him find his dog? Ambulance is not the right service for him.

    I was always grateful for net pens to confine my babies. If not in arms, in crib, carriage, net pen. Behind a gate in safe space, etc. Until they were (sons), 4ish , they were confined. Never roaming without close servalence. Today these are not popular so always possible awful injuries. The children always suffer!!!

    There should be an ambulance with the mental health crisis team, going to commit suicide doesn’t require an ambulance… also why aren’t we telling people to make their own way to hospital when it’s safe for them to do so… this is crazy

    I can't believe that there's people out there really dying and they're the people who need the emergency ambulance service, not some woman who looks healthy and can walk and talk who "thinks" she's been bitten by a so-called snake. She doesn't even know how she got the bruise on her foot so why should she need the emergency services?

    • @marcojackson8326
      @marcojackson8326 2 месяца назад +12

      Just playing devil's advocate but she said that she didn't know they even sent an ambulance.

    • @DeKat-84
      @DeKat-84 2 месяца назад +8

      @@marcojackson8326 Exactly. She'd called 111 and explained the problem to them, probably just expecting a prescription for some cream or something. When she explained what had hapened, the symptoms flagged up as an emergency response so it would then have been passed through to the control centre you see on this program as an "emergency" response.
      So yeah, she called for advice and the 111 service had the ambulance sent. The exact same thing, although for different symptoms, happened with my mother last month. 🙄🙄
