I felt everything that she was going through as it happened to me on June 2/21 when the neighbour found my husband in a ball on our front lawn. I ran out with my son and the neighbour was doing CPR. Then when the paramedics came, they took over from us, and they worked on him for 25 minutes and there was no bringing them back. There was no Asystole and that’s when your heart's electrical system fails, causing your heart to stop pumping. That’s why I asked why didn’t they zap him with the defibrillator and he said the defibrillator has to read some kind of electricity in the heart and if there’s none it won’t work on it. So after 25 minutes of working on my husband, four shots of adrenaline through his heart, my husband was pronounced dead.
@@SnowPink90 So sorry for your loss. What the paramedics told you is correct. For a defibrillator to work they have to be in a "shockable" rhythm. It stops an abnormal rhythm allowing the heart to "restart" and hopefully restore a normal rhythm. Asystole is not shockable (it means no rhythm) so CPR was the correct choice.
@@SnowPink90 Been a volunteer fire fighter here in Poland for years now (im 26 so maybe 4 or 5 now) been participating in few cardiac arrests we did all we can in al those cases but smetimes it is too late to make it effective or the damage is so big you can't do anything even with todays medicine and response.. I have to say it hits hard being there and failing at doing what you promised to do .. save lives :/ A lot of the times there was 0 electrical signals in the heart so no shocks Sorry for your loss I hope you find peace

I cried with the first lady when her husband died 😢 but marion was such a sweetheart 😊 she is 95 , smokes and like gin and tonic but she can still get around really good!
RIP DANIEL man it breaks my heart as a 34 year old man who's gone through the mill a few times to see someone in such a deep hole and not make it i really hope hes at peace. God Rest His Soul.
As a flight nurse (in the USA) I can tell you that people having heart attacks/cardiac arrests on the toilet is VERY common. Generally when some people “strain “ while using the toilet it causes a great strain on the heart. I can’t begin to count the number of cases that I have attended. One of many unusual facts in medicine. I always pray for my patients and their families. Y’all have a blessed day.
That less than an hour ago he was discharged from the hospital for 'just having a faint' is also a common thing... so ridiculous how commonplace that is.
My stepdad died in my arms and I had to drag him out of the bathroom on a sheet, get him up onto the bed with help of the hospice nurse and a friend. Dressed him, brushed his hair and he looked like he was just sleeping so my mom and his daughter were able to come and see him.
I have been working on deciding to go back to EMS, taken care of veterans for 10 years. Rough trip. Ready to just help emergency again.., not spend years of watching deterioration.. 🙏❤️. Been saying lots of PRAYERS, you are good people!!! Need more of US!!!
not gonna lie but the gentleman that died at home with is wife at around the 07:33 mark reminds me of my bampa and how they place him on the sofa and covered up and we got to see him one last time. Im crying from the memories but the team on here and the teacm from when it was my bampa was so lovely and helpful and did everything they could possibly do.
Must be because my dad who got up to go to the bathroom at 4:15am Then afterwards crawled to the living room to sit on the couch and when mom convinced him to go back to bed, she went in the kitchen and sat in his chair and just started shaking, and his eyes rolled back and he passed away right there and then.
Daniel passes away at 32, what a shame. It’s not like there was nobody willing to help. He had people but he just had to do what he wanted to do which lead to his death. 😔 I really love these ambulance people, especially the couple. I love her way of dealing with the patients. I think there are enough ambulances, they are just used inappropriately because of a risk adverse triage system, increased call volume and being stuck outside ed
Budget cuts, false calls, triage system needs updating, calls that are not emergencies or requiring an ambulance. I have family who work in the ambulance system, and they have people calling them to request medication changes, but lied when calling stating they were having a heart attack to get cat 1.
My father is 96 and up until April he was independent , I do live with him , but he was able to get around with his wheel walker and could even get back and forth to the restroom on his own , warm up food for himself ,and still get around the house with his wheel walker , unfortunately he developed pneumonia in April and ended up in the hospital , then rehab , and now they had to move him to the nursing home section. It’s sad because it could of been avoided if he listened to me , I work in pharmacy but he didn’t and now he’s in a place that he never wanted to be , breaks my heart 😢😢😢😢💔💔💔
To the paramedics out there THANK YOU ❤️❤️. A few days ago I pretty much collapsed while out with the dogs but managed to get myself home but within a few hrs I knew something wasn’t right and I ended up calling 111 who in turn sent out a rapid response paramedic who then had to call for assistance as his oxygen bottle was extremely low and I needed it badly so another ambulance turns up and they decide to get me to hospital asap , I didn’t know as such ( not used the service for many years ) that they can’t just drop you of now so the patient has to stay in the ambulance until there is a bed available, while sitting in the back a call came though that not one ambulance crew could attend and the paramedic who was with me said the guy would be dead before anyone got to him as the nearest ambulance was at least an hrs wait if not longer 😥😥😥😥 I felt so damn well peed of after hearing that as I certainly didn’t feel like I deserved the treatment I got like I did .
The lady with the Cellulitis at the end of the episode should really have gone into hospital. I have suffered with Recurrent Cellulitis since 1992 and I’ve had it so often that I have had a letter from an expert from the local hospital to state that I can have antibiotics on my repeat prescription so that I always have them in at home should I get an attack, that way hopefully staving off a major infection and a trip to hospital.

I'm always puzzled by the following: In this very good documentary, we've just heard a 22 year woman described as a '22 year old young girl'. If a 22 year old is described as a 'young girl', what words do they use to describe a nine year old? I suspect they would just say 'girl', so why does the adjective 'young' in front of the word 'girl' denote an adult? ie someone older, not younger than a girl? Isn't a 22 year old a young woman? And would they refer to an adult male as a 'young boy'? Bet they wouldn't- for some reason.
The deceased no longer need an emergency ambulance, if it’s a child they always go in. If it’s an expected death ambulance don’t take them but advise the family what to do, and if it’s unexpected the police deal

Their should be some kind of support service for spouses of emergency workers because there seems to be such a prevalence of affairs taking place at work. The paramedics are spending too much time with the people dealing with non emergency concerns. It’s probably for the tv show because in reality paramedics deal with trauma patients quickly and don’t dilly dally around chit chatting. I wanted to see paramedics in action not the minutiae of peoples lives.

My Uncle passed away in a similar way that first man did. Heart attack on the loo. Also around the 4-4.30am time frame.
