Underneath that bridge, black and blue Jig with a crawl trailer usually produce for me. Several 2.5#+ and many around 2#
Grew up fishing all the local lakes tonka prior crystal marion . I always fished by the stone arch bridge back in the day.
That’s freaking crazy u hooked those two on the same cast!! Love watching this urban fishing…but it appears far from it…crazy that spot is in Minneapolis.

Theres a small clear lake in the wildlife are on the Minnesota river in bloomington in the very back. Bunch of good ponds in eagan. Burnsville apple valley area.

So you need to head up to Monticello by the nuclear power plant by where they shoot warm water from the cooling ponds..... you will have a few people to compete with....but will catch so many ........or if mom and dad can afford to send you to the u of m Minneapolis campus......talk them into a boat.....i only pay 150$ a month for a 2020 g3 150 with 40 hp 4 stroke......
And also not trying to be a dick......but a smallmouth that size on the Mississippi is not one in a million lol.....that river is full of them.....another tip.....use live bait while river fishing in the fall.....catch more and bigger fish.....drop shots and sliip bobber set ups are key......
