Fishing in Downtown Minneapolis! (urban explore)

- I got my butt absolutely kicked during this adventure - between getting lost, falling several times, and not being able to lip more than a handful of smallmouth, it was an interesting one! This spot has walleye, crappie, catfish, and tons of bass (both largemouth and smallmouth) but this day I only got lucky enough to catch some smallies! Not always rainbows and butterflies on this channel - reality can sometimes be a brutal day of exploring and trying to catch fish - especially when it’s urban fishing! lol
Thanks for watching! Catch ya'll on the next one :)

I hope you're doing ok. If I were to take those falls I would totally F my back up. Great video, thanks for sharing!
Doing fine but yeah, definitely took a few hits along the way haha! Thanks for tuning in!
Another GREAT video! Keep 'em coming! I caught my first smallmouth on the Mississippi on a crawfish - back around 1961! Keep fishing and LET'S GO!
I appreciate you watching, Will! LETS GOOOOO!!!
Right under the 35W bridge on the Minneapolis side is the best spot for carp and catfish. There is a picture perfect eddy current that can produce massive carp.
I’ve seen that spot! Looks absolutely killer!
Love to see you visiting the metro and making content here man! Haven’t had a chance to go out to that Rochester spot and get cited by the police yet, but I’ll give it a go one day! 😂 Keep up the great content and fishing!
Thanks for still tuning in to my stuff, John! Yeah I drove over that spot the other day and it’s now just inches of water…. The drought has been brutal!!
Access looked a little gnarly dude. Fun stuff.
The Mississippi definitely beat me up that day - guess it can’t always been sunshine and butterflies 😂. Thanks for watching, man!
Better luck than me. I live 5 mins from the river in St. Paul. I never get a whole lot. In the spring it was flooded had some good luck though.
I could see it having potential but yeah, definitely a good amount of work just to find a few fish lol
tough day, thanks for sharing.
Definitely kicked my butt - happy to share the good and not-so-good days of fishing with everyone lol
Fishing poles are the next best thing to beer. When you fall what do you save first? Beer and fishing poles!
😂 can’t argue that one!
Great intro!
Thanks!
Nice nature walking video
Sometimes it be like that 😂
I am surprised you didn't run into a few tents over there.
I was shocked myself
Bro, where you got caught in that mud, I sank down to my freaking thigh on the other side of that bridge in mud.
Absolutely brutal! Sometimes I wonder why we put ourselves through this stuff just to get some fish 😂
between it being so dirty and not catching enough good fish in that area, it's not worth going. There's a few decent place right up the river or right below where you are that holds decent size smallies and eyes from shore.
Good to know! I don’t fish up by Minneapolis a ton so it was really just a shot in the dark! It just wasn’t my day anyway as you could probably tell… oh well - always next time
🤘

What pound line is that?
8 lb on my spinning and 12 lb on my casting. Those are my go to “everyday” line strengths for regular every day fishing
@@LoOutdoors I was curious. Break offs happen to the best of us but they are the worst feeling in fishing
Totally - and fishing around rocks is never fun either… whatever that big fish was that broke me off…. Would have loved to see it but I don’t doubt if I had a nick in my line already when I hooked it and it was game over before I even realized it 😂
@@LoOutdoors yeah I can relate. I try to re tie often but sometimes Murphy’s law takes over lol. In spring I hooked a good sized probably 18 inch smallie and broke me off and I saw it swim away with my crank bait in its mouth and it was a gut wrenching feeling. Anyway have a nice on man
Absolutely brutal! Nothing worse than seeing them swim off with the bait too 😭 😭- thanks for watching my stuff man! Good luck out there!!
