- Watch as we fly fish for some pretty hardy fish on the Mississippi river in Minneapolis, MN. This fishing was done using a fly rod and some different tactics. Ask us how we did it in the comments, and for recommendations on spots! Tight lines Broh.
Fun stuff!! Wow.
Yea no for sure
Cool looking place to fish, nice video!

Awesome video brother good stuff fellow Minnesotan
Thank you kind sir
Cool to see fishing from different states, I liked and subbed to show support 🎬💯
Always cool to see what others are up to for sure! Just checked out some of your stuff too! Sweet channel man we'll have to stay in touch going forward, gave you the sub back!
Nice Joe
Minneapolis was considered the nicest cleanest metro city in the country up until the last couple decades. Cool carp fishing though.
Luckily, we have amazing fishing outside of the city we can enjoy! Minneapolis is garbage.
Nice spot, there is an urban river here in New Orleans that looks identical to that one you were fishing except it doesn't have an amzing bridge like yours not to my knowledge anyways, it has a wall on one side of it and seems deep though. Now I'm going to have to try fishing it.
We have always wanted to go down to Louisiana for Reds! Not sure if we would be brave enough to adventure New Orleans without a guide haha.
@@KutthroatOutdoors It's not dangerous at all where the canals are. The only places that are skechy here are in the middle of the ghettos, of course the projects, and far to the east side the lower 9nth ward. Everywhere else which is a very wide range area is safe.
I was just there. Water was super high. No bites tho.
Once that water warms, it’ll be hot! Tight lines.
Yeah once the river goes down is the best time to hit that spot … when waters are calm
I guess you can't eat the fish out of that river anymore? My dad used to swim in the Mississippi River back in the 1920s!
Probably not… unless you want to grow a 3rd arm.
Are you guys gonna get epic passes for Park city? The season is getting close.
Ya! We got the Epic local again this year. Fingers crossed for tonnnnns of snow.
@@KutthroatOutdoors nice i got it too
@@taydensmith3156 awesome! Maybe see you out there.
Greetings from California!!
What rod are you using? Make and wt?
Hello! The rod is a Cabelas brand 5 wt. We have a 8 wt. St croix that does amazing with bigger fish. Definitely go with the 6-8 wt. if you are looking to catch urban river fish!
that water is mostly diesel 💀
Smells that way haha
What weight of a fly rod are you using?
That’s a 6 weight, but we recommend a 8 weight for heavier fish.
South end of Nicollet island right?
Close, south end of father Hennepin bluff park , if you take “lower trail” it will take you to a Bridge, I just waded into the river 50 feet or so
@@KutthroatOutdoors I was just over there yesterday. Crazy amount of carp.
Highly recommend bringing a firearm, concealed carry if you have a permit, when you solo fish metropolitan city areas. On more than one occasion people have attempted to rob me while I was alone fishing in areas similar to where you are fishing.
Born and raised in Minneapolis haha. We are aware of the risk it takes for river monsters :)
From St. Paul. I fish this spot by myself all the time, and never had an issue. Even had a group of people offer me a beer while I was catfishing.
@@jackvue722 ah thats pretty chill then seems like a good spot
You don’t need a gun to fish over there lmao
Fish with a friend.
carp. congrats zzzz
Thanks.
zzzzzzzz..... exaclty the sound the rod makes when you hook into a beloved River Carp. Thanks Face painter!
