"President of Mars" was a callback to the first time Trixie and Maze met--Trixie mentioned it as one of the things she might want to be when she grew up.
Even after finishing all 6 seasons, the face reveal with Trixie & Maze is still one of my favs. Maze was so scared and Trixie was so happy. It was so wholesome 🖤🖤
@@roxi3969 I laughed, I cried, I did both at the same time. I felt satisfied and yet strangely empty when it all ended 🤷🏼 I did enjoy it tho, I really really enjoyed the new kick ass wings and who they were attached to.
In this episode we meet a sad and vulnerable side of Lucifer that he always hides behind humor and sarcasm. He sees himself as a monster, and that goes beyond Uriel's death, you'll see more of that in the future. And yes, Tom Ellis is a very good actor, every season he gets even better. We also had a very emotional moment from Amenadiel. He always followed his father without question, but now he feels lost because God doesn't seem to respond to all that dedication. At the beginning of the episode, Lucifer tells Linda that she can feel free to close the door for him, but in the end, after revealing himself to her, he leaves the office door open when he leaves, as a sign of hope of that can come back. In fact, this whole scene is very beautiful, with the lights going on, and Linda's shock reaction.
The scene of Lucifer playing Metallica on the piano is one of the most powerful emotional scenes in the whole series!! You can feel all the pain, guilt, and self hatred that Lucifer is feeling, and they did it without even saying anything!!
I usually skip or skim commentaries after a reaction but you guys have the most entertainingly analytic back and forth. Having both reactors equally firing away with the ideas is why I look forward to this reaction series.
I know right. That's why i'm loving the reactions. I want to see how they faces are on key points and I love their reaction to Linda's reveal. Still when I see this I'm like the look of hurt on his face, he only wanted someone who knew the truth and he told her and she reacted like that she was all he had.
Reviewing everything that's happened really shows how strong the character arcs and writing is. You can see echoes of themes from the first episode onward that build and change.
This is, by the way, why snipers have spotters. They need someone with them to keep an eye out, because while utterly focused someone can just sneak up to you.
15:05 there's many martial arts and techniques that focus on weaker and smaller against stronger and larger opponent. It's usually about mercilessly targeting the squishiest spots on human body, or about using opponent's momentum against him and just redirecting his own motion (with his own force put into it) in a minimal and smart way that will put him off-balance. Also, most of even criminals tend to not resist, because... Well, fighting/killing some civilian is one thing, but resisting/fighting/killing a cop is psychologically very different, and most people percieve it as another step further.
Here we are! Dr. Linda now knows she has the devil as a patient. How much time will it take to process and accept this revelation? Mum seems so sincere to get back to heaven with all her children. But, can she really go back to the way it was? Moving forward is the way, and that will look entirely different than what was before. Here she has lost Uriel and Lucifer is not in agreement even thought Amenadiel is convinced what about Azrael? It was Azrael's blade that took Uriel out of existence... will Azrael come willingly? All this strife in the silver city, won't this be problematic for humanity? Well, let's see what happens with Dr. Linda...
Love the Maze & Trixie friendship in this episode. My theory on Amenadiels downfall stems from what you said about him bringing back Malcolm, because then Malcolm went on to kill people so therefore it was Amenadiels fault they died. I love that Linda said to Lucifer in Lux that her door was always open for him and that he then left the door open after he revealed his face.
As to your discussion about why it's wrong to reveal the divine to mortals, I refer you to Douglas Adams' description of the Babel Fish in the TV adaptation of Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. For context, "The Babel fish is a small, bright yellow fish, which can be placed in someone's ear in order for them to be able to hear any language translated into their first language." "Now it is such a bizarrely improbable coincidence that something so mind-bogglingly useful could have evolved purely by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see it as a final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God." "The argument goes something like this: 'I refuse to prove that I exist,' says God, 'for proof denies faith, and without faith, I am nothing.' 'But, says Man, the Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and, by your own arguments, you don't. QED.' 'Oh dear,' says God, 'I hadn't thought of that,' and vanishes in a puff of logic."
RE: How do police deal with large/muscular men? I'm built like an NFL linebacker... I have been told (in confidence) by several police officers that they would flatout shoot a man my size if they fought them. Size and strength are weapons.
This is probably the *darkest* episode of Season 2! Chloe is so compassionate and understanding, but Lucifer's grief even causes him to be *CRUEL* to her. Chloe is being perceptive enough to recognize Lucifer's perceived need for *PUNISHMENT,* too. The best part -- Trixie and Maze asleep on the couch. Note to _"future Chloe"_ (circa Season 4) -- *remember* that scene!
Now you know why episode 6 of season 2 is my favorite episode. Linda asked for the truth and the answer she got is the most sincere one ever. Gosh ! The lighning, the music, the litte trembling of Linda's face, Lucifer just sitting there without any aggression but his devil face, I love this scene so much ! Aurora's point is also very important. Is the Goddess really planing another rebellion versus God ? Is she already assembling her army, e.g. Lucifer, Amenadiel ? At least she seems to be arranging something. More info on this in the upcoming episodes of Lucifer... 🙂
This was my favorite tv Show then Netflix took it over thank the lord, HAHA but that being said it just gets better and better and better so much story telling love it! You two are in for a treat.
This was only time watching tv being a person of dutch heritage came in handy! Chocolate Hagelslag are chocolate sprinkles you put on buttered bread for bkfast (usually De Ritjer brand). Olie Bollen are as stated by Luci a kind of donut but usually eaten for xmas or new years. Also, strooping I believe was a reference to spanking... not a reference to stroopwafels. Altho I love stroopwafels.
From a combat Aikido black belt - it is simple to restrain much, much larger folk with minimal effort and energy if you have great understanding of balance, how ligaments and tendons work and they don't and as you said excellent technique. For example walking is really just controlled falling in motion - if you for even a moment steal the control all balance is gone and no matter how strong someone is if they are falling you can move them wherever you wish with absolutely minimal effort. Given less than a month and using no more effort than to lift 4 kgs (10 pounds) of milk I could teach you how to throw a 80kg (175 lbs) guy well over a table - the physics is crazy simple once you are used to it...
In answer to your question about female police officers arresting male suspects. It is rare that they do it by themselves. In most cases they call for back up or check by from another unit. Uniformed or plain clothes. Now there are cases where the male suspect does not resist and are taken into custody without incident but even in those cases there is usually a male police officer on the scene or nearby. Smaller departments will, most of the time, have another unit( either within the same agency or a nearby one) check by the arresting officer male or female as standard protocol if possible. i.e. the other units are not otherwise occupied on another call.
If they have a fight on earth then it won't be them going all out because celestials are forbidden from going full power on earth, also Linda has to think about how she slept with Lucifer
Female cops are more likely to shoot than male cops because they get overpowered all the time. Also unlike in movies they try partnering up the female cops with male partners often bigger. It's a badidea to put two female cops as partners it's dangerous for both the cop and suspect. Taser doesnt always we or either. On that note the gun doesn't always work either, unlike on TV people don't always go down with a shot, it can take multiple shots to take someone down, if they got a knife and get to close they can stab you several times faster than you can stop them. People overestimate the gun and underestimate the knife in this country.
Linda has to process a bit more than that she was talking to the devil. She slept with him on the regular at first. Just imagine trying to wrap your mind around that one.
***You have a spoiler, I’ve asked them to delete, I don’t know if they will and maybe you’ve already read it. You may want to ask for a disclaimer not to give spoilers

Amenadiel can only bring back from the dead of the recently deceased. he flew down to hell at the point of death and put his soul back into his body.
I LOVE Trixie and Mazikeen scenes
If they have a fight on earth then it won't be them going all out because celestials are forbidden from going full power on earth, also Linda has to think about how she slept with Lucifer

If mum has so many flaws, why her husband can't have flaws as well?
So did the Yorkshire ripper’s mum know her son?
Not just talked to him, she slept with him. Imagine that mind f*ck.
