  • Michel Pagliaro's hit song 'Some Sing, Some' Dance! This may have been the first song I heard of Pagliaro's, even though 'Lovin' You Ain't Easy' came the year before. Two more hits from him in 1972 were 'Rainshowers' and 'J'etends frapper'. In 1975 came 'What the Hell I Got'. All great songs from my early radio listening days! I also got the 45 for this song from my brother :)) This multi-talented singer songwriter, sings in both French and English, his first language being French. Pagliaro was nominated for best Male Vocalist of the year at the Juno Awards in 1975. He is the first Canadian artist to have Top 40 hits in both French and English on the pop charts. In 2010 he was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. Pagliaro was huge in Canada through the 70's. I read he went to France in the early 80's, then returned to Quebec where he still performs. His last release was a 13 CD box set. I would love to have it! "Pag Collection is a boxed set of CDs released by Michel Pagliaro in December 2011. The collection includes all of his previous albums, previously unavailable on CD, as well as a compilation of songs that were formerly only available on 45" singles[1]" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pag_coll...)
Hope you enjoy this love♥ song! It could easily be named 'Some like romance' or 'I love lovin' :)

    Some Sing, Some Dance
    (Finkelberg/Pagliaro)
Ooh you, how would I know just to hold you
How could I show that I want to
Cause I do, want to hold you
    Yes I do
Ooh you, how would I know if I told you
You wouldn't laugh if I told you
Cause I do, want to hold you
Yes I do, want to hold you
    Hold you
    Some sing, some dance
    Some like romance
    I love lovin'
    Some sing, some dance
    Some like romance
    I love lovin'
Ooh you, could I be sure that you could be true
Could I endure not a holding you
Cause I do want to hold you
    Yes I do
Ooh you, now that I know you could be untrue
Now that I know I couldn't hold you
Well I do need to hold you
Yes I do need to hold you
    Hold you
    Some sing, some dance
    Some like romance
    I love lovin
    Some sing, some dance
    Some like romance
    I love lovin
    Some sing, some dance
    Some like romance
    I love lovin
    Some sing, some dance
    Some like romance
    I love lovin ♥♥

This I recall so vividly and fondly from the summer of '72. My sister was newly wed and a 1000 miles away and about to give birth to the family's first grandchild. I was only 10 and had visited them with my other sister and dad earlier that summer. My dad used to fish salmon then and would head out at 5 AM to try his luck. One fine morning he returned with six and was de-scaling them and hosing them down in the back yard. This entire, glorious scenario is bottled up, somehow magically, in the strains of the song. Such is the power of music.

So True! The power of music brings back memories, sometimes things unexpected too. This is a great story Dean, and I appreciate your sharing it with this Pagliaro classic :) Thank-you for your comment!

superturboawesome1 ... man, the 60s and 70s were the greatest decades for music. I remember hearing this song for the first time back in '72. I was 8. LOL. Pag has so many great songs; he's an amazing Canadian artist.
