I love the discussion around games like Final Fantasy and Fire Emblem. They got there eventually but that initial "Final Fantasy started at 7, right?" had me dying!
I feel for anyone who hasent experienced FF6. But 7 is a very high point in the series.

The Master Transcendant can cheat your own fatties into play. You can target yourself on etb then wait a turn. When the rad counter trigger goes on the stack, you can play a vamp or worldly tutor to put razaketh (or hullbreaker or broodlord) on top then mill it, then tap commander. It also combos with cephalid illusionist and commander and lightning greaves.

The Master, Transcendent 1 card combos with vampiric tutor, imperial seal, and worldly tutor because you cast him, put hoarding broodlord on top, mill it with the rad counters from last turn and then get saw in half. Cast the saw, get food chain and your food chain outlet. Cast food chain and then your food chain outlet and win the game. 1 card combo with 1 mana tutors is pretty huge.
You know the set sucks for cEDH when every card only maybe sees play in Ardenn decks 😆
Cogsworth, handy helper is so bad in arden. I have an arden / tana deck together right now and I can confidently say that card is garbage. If I had 3 mana to put it out, why would I not play the equipment instead and save myself a card? Because ward 2 is so good I should spend a card on that? If rather test silver shrouded costume. At least that thing is protection and ends the game with enough equipment.
Think there's something to Rex, Cyberhound. Maybe Rose, too. But not too much else.
@@CKarasu13 I hold out hope for silver suit costume. I know 2 mana is a lot for a can't target effect, but I'm looking it in decks where the main strategy leans on attacking. Like, for instance, what about Najeela. If you can get it on najeela she becomes much harder to interact with and her combo now doesn't rely on anything but herself connecting. Or what about if Grolnok ever became a thing; he's now unable to be blocked and you can get that 3 cards of advantage every turn.
Not sure how many decks revolve around attacking to end the game, but I feel like it should be considered, maybe in those decks?
Very disappointed we didn't see a commander that can easily generate junk tokens. That's easily the strongest mechanic from the set and could have had legs as a game plan. Oh well, maybe the mechanic will return in future dystopian Kaladesh when everyone is scrounging through the wreckage of past mechanical wonders.
There is the 3/2 that makes mana when you sac junk. Everything about that card screems value.

@@TheBestPraetor rose herself actually makes junk tokens whenever you attack somebody, basically up to three each turn, since its just whenever a creature you control attacks somebody, so she kinda just does the whole thing herself

@@arthenah7192 Problem is they are 4 CMC, mono R that makes at max 3 junk per turn. I was hoping for a RB that makes junk for life or a RU that makes junk for casting spells.
The Michelin guide comes from the same company that makes car tyres. It started with the fact that they wanted more people to buy their tires. They recalled that a guide to specific restaurants would increase tire sales by forcing people to drive to the recommended restaurants.

One thing not mentioned about Radstorm, it can be easily played while piggybacking off your opponents storm count...it is much wiser to hold it up for the moment where your opponents get into a counter battle, and you just top it off by killing them all...
I think nuclear fallout being able to win the game presents more flexibility than toxic deluge just being able to control what you want removed and what you want to stay, plus sometimes the fact that you have to pay life into toxic deluge can be very relevant when you're already paying life for cards or to cast spells.
Not sure flexibility is the term I'd use. Maybe versatility?
The point you made about PIP-BOY is such a sleeper analysis. Card is effectively ramping for 2 lands every turn in the right deck, and it has modality for when you don't need mana. That floor is super above rate.
Can you explain where it's effectively ramping 2 lands a turn? I think I'm missing it

@@SpoonCopy I'm not commenting on if the card is good or bad... But i sure hope you are experienced enough in magic to understand the difference between having an extra 2 mana (a sol ring) and ramping 2 lands per turn (an explosive vegetation every turn)...

It might be too slow but you could target yourself with the rad counters from The Master Trascendant. Next turn respond to the trigger with worldy tutor, vampiric tutor, lim-dul's vault, brainstorm, etc and put a creature on top of your deck to reanimate. Something like hullbreaker horror for infinitie flickering of your commander if you have infinite mana with mana rocks

I plan on putting Radstorm into my high power Mizzix deck. Mainly because spamming more experience counters onto Mizzix is a win-more play, but the deck also copies spells A LOT and so I plan on using Prologue to Phyresis + Radstorm to kill the table!
One thing to point out with The Master, Transcendent is that it does have a couple interesting combo lines besides Food Chain, notably Cephalid Illusionist with something like Shuko that equips for zero. You can combo out and mill your whole library and then put Thoracle onto the battlefield with your commander. Still maybe not great, since it opens up a lot of points of interaction and requires 2 extra cards, but you are in decent colors for tutoring all of the pieces with things like Urza's Saga, Transmute Artifact, all the black tutors and the green creature tutors. You also can lean into mid-range with things like Seedborn and The One Ring. Probably not really that amazing, especially lacking real card or mana advantage in the command zone and needing to survive a turn to be able to even tap, but it has some interesting lines besides just being a dig for Food Chain build perhaps.
also, you can ETB give the rad counters yourself and in your next main, in response to the rad trigger, you can worldly/vampiric tutor a hullbreaker horror or hoarding broodlord onto the top of your library. It then gets milled and reanimated with the master

1. The Master, Transcendent is a very exciting cEDH deck I've brewed that has both food chain and thassa's oracle win conditions. The thing is versatile even without the commander.
2. I bought an OG Play to Win hoodie 1-2 years ago and was wearing it outside of a metal concert (Falling in Reverse, Syracuse NY) and I had a bunch of people tell me that they love you guys and it's a rad hoodie (pun intended)!

Nuclear Fallout while niche, will probably also find a spot in Tasigur lists. In Tasigur, some list are already on languish similar to Tivit, and this is an direct upgrade over Languish, while also serving as a backup wincon, while also serving as conditional wipe, that also makes casting your commander cheaper. Think you guys rated it perfectly
The Master also works with Hermit Druid, which is big.
I know Hermit druid is easy to stop, but another one card wincon is really nice.

The answer to your radstorm question could be Mizzix to proliferate the experience counters.
really dug the pip-boy 3000 analysis its all about looking where people wouldnt usually look and the sol ring comparative makes sense
There are only 6 cards in the game that give every opponent a poison counter, Ichor Rats, Infectious Bite, Infectious Inquiry, Phyresis Outbreak, Prologue to Phyresis and Vraska's Fall.
I do run a Atraxa, Turbo Proliferate deck and I definitely want Radstorm.
It's also an Instant, so you can do it in response to the storm player going off
22:19 pet spells that give opponents poison counters on scryfall, infectious bite, infectious inquiry, phyresis outbreak, prologue to phyresis and vraskas fall are all actually solid cards that fit the theme and accomplish the counter goal for radstorm, now there just needs to be a good shell
Radstorm is a grixis storm card, this enables infect, black and rituals, all will be one, Phyresis on your Commander, etc.
For what it's worth, Nuclear Fallout can also be tutored with Spellseeker for the ambitious Grixis players out there.

1 star goes to very good restaurants, 2 stars to exceptional ones, and 3 stars to a very very small select few that are considered unparalleled in terms of the experience you get from them.
I think curie finds her best home in yuriko, she can copy the giant creatures that are always present as well as a cheap early attacker that draws cards
can you guys do a podcast episode explaining the stack? i want to venture into cedh and a few of your episodes have been really helpful but as a casual player i don’t fully understand everything to the degree i think would be necessary

Final fantasy is named as such because the studio was going out of business/ creator would quit video games (depending on the story) so released its last game as “the final fantasy” since it was the last chance. It did amazing and they didn’t go out of business.

So Dylan sounded like he was joking or thought he might be wrong but, the Michelin star rating system for restaurants is ran by Michelin the tire company. The idea being people that travelled a lot by car in Europe would benefit from knowing what restaurants are good in various cities they're not familiar with.
The Master's activated ability actually does have a purpose, you can use it to cast Thoracle off a Hermit Druid if he's not summoning sick.
You can also get infinite untaps with The Master and Intruder Alarm and either a sac outlet or creature that sacs itself. Mana dorks or an altar get infinite mana. More casual but still?

Kellogg looks pretty cool, even just for casual -> high power. Plenty of cool things to be done.
In theory, a one-star rating means, “a very good restaurant,” two stars signify “excellent cooking that is worth a detour,” and a three-star restaurant is one that offers “exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey.”
Michelin can grant up to 3 stars. 3 star restaurants are considered (by some) to be the highest quality dining experience possible.

So I don't know why it was implied that the master transendent can't be used on yourself, because that is obviously what the idea for the card is. If you are playing it early, you are casting it, rad countering yourself, then next turn you can mill two and summon something from the milled cards. More interestingly, since rad happens during pre-combat main phase you can untap, and draw, then on trigger in the main phase you could vampiric tutor or worldly tutor to top deck any creature you want in your deck and return it from grave for free which is not nothing for sure.
I think The Master, Transcended will be a new archetype where mill matters and it’s going to be a mill yourself, get combo pieces to win on the spot.
I personally feel The Wise Mothman is being undervalued. Yes the opponent’s get an Upkeep but more often than not they will need to jump through hoops to do anything of value. Additionally, at least with the people I have played with and seen they rarely seem to run cards like Emergence Zone and other Flash Enablers. Funnily enough they even tried to talk me out of running flash-enablers. Two different playstyles I guess. Lol

For rakdos I think zoyowa lava tongue could be a viable wheel deck with cards like underworld dreams, howling mine, sheoldred
Me listening to the conversation over the shirt colour and just yelling out TURQUOISE at my screen. They were calling it green/blue or blue/green, there is a name for that, Turquoise.
Tivit decks could tap the clues to improvise for Synth Infiltrator since you don't need to tap the clues to sac them to draw cards. I just don't know if the deck would need a 2 mana clone creature.
It's a very niche pick as a cEDH commander, but I'm fond of Vadrik and Radstorm works well for him, since storming and proliferating are both things he wants to do.

radstorm in tandem w mizzix of the igmagus would be absolutely broken. Great way to burst forward on experience counters and cast some busted instants/sorceries
I have a Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider commander deck it's pretty social in power but doubling and or tripling the counters on on Rampaging Yao Guai seems like it could be fun to have a MASSIVE vigilance trampler that's going to wipe out a few artifacts and enchantments when it's slammed on the table.

Pip boy is kind of like a mini sword of feast and famine. And 1,2 is a lot better cost investment and it can't get blocked to stop the effect
What about James, Wandering Dad? He's an instant infinite colorless outlet OR an iso rev activator with just one other mana rock.
3 Michelin stars is elite food, service and some other aura. 2 stars is elite food and service. 1 star is food.

Dance of Many is underappreciated as a clone. Especially in a deck like Atraxa, which wants varied card types. Probably not good enough to make a 4-color deck, but something that at least deserves to be in the discussion with some of these other cards.
Nuclear Fallout for like 5, maybe set up an infinite storm count and rad storm to kill or kill out everyone on their pre combat main phase with rad counters? Might be slow but it could be a fun way to win
Nuclear Fallout will be a great alternate wincon in Talion with Bloodchief Ascension online. Between wiping their guys and milling it will drain a ton of life.
Fallout and final fantasy are all in order so there is 6 in total the order goes 1,2,3, 3 new Vegas,4, fallout 76 and for final fantasy 1-16 with some sequels such as 13-2 and 13 lighting returns

I'm sure someone cleared this up, but you can receive 1, 2 or 3 Michelin stars. 3 Michelin star restaurants are looked at as the best in the world. Even having one star is greatly regarded and quite a feat.
Fallout, fallout 2, (made by interplay) fallout 3, fallout New Vegas, fallout 4, fallout 76 (made by Bethesda game studios)
I highly recommend playing some of these titles if you're genuinely interested. The first two games made by interplay are absolutely metal.
Radstorm plus one ring could be kinda broken tho, idk prob not as good as untapping it but going from the one ring turn one draw 5 could be game changing
In kellogg you can run "clock of omen" with liquimetal coating and magda to make infinite treasures and take everything
Oooh, maybe the storm infect deck runs some kinda paradoxical outcome (I think it's not banned) artifact deck to get to contagion engine then radstorm

Hindsight is 20/20 turns out V.A.T.S was pretty good and sees a good bit of play. Tivit, Talion, Yuriko, all have high tournament placings with it
Pip Boy in Derevi is NUTSO. Attack untao three lands or two lands and your mana crypt etc, just with Derevi itself. Thats a great rate.
If you go infinite with iso scepter and red death you can deck out your opponents if they have one creature
While that's true (and you can run the rainbow land that gives them a Spirit if you want to make sure of that), I'm pretty sure you'll have no shortage of ways ot win the game once you manage to get the infinite untaps combo to go off :P
