Really enjoyed this - was expecting some of the mono green decks to make the discussion though (Yisan, Marwyn, etc), since they've been pretty seriously sidelined over the last couple years.
3:40 I think the reason why Magda gets a lot more love than Codie is because it's a Mono-Red deck that wins via combos other than Godo Helm, meanwhile Codie is 5-colour Good Stuff (A deck that's been done to death over the years...)
Not sure if it was mentioned but a Magda deck top 16’d the biggest cEDH tournament of all time two weeks ago on a completely new list with no dragons. The deck has seen some innovation and is still performing quite well!

I have a casual Narset, Enlightened Exile list. I've realized that it's one of those decks that's WAY too much for casual so I might as well go all in and make it cEDH

I could never. Was my first deck I made cedh and I've put the fear of dwarves into my friends at the LGS and sure you might take her out, but eventually I'll get there while other ppl waste their resources on the other decks like sisay or yuriko
The difference between Prossh and Korvald, is Korvald you need Squee the immortal and food chain to happen, then you can draw your entire deck and win from there. Prossh just needs something like impact tremors and Food Chain and you just win. So they both need that "one extra" card besides FOOD CHAIN but in my experience as long as you haven't already attempted to cast Prossh over twenty times you can "push" your opponents out of the game through Impact Tremor effects and recasting the commander. Korvald however, if you can't draw cards he doesn't do anything. But i suppose the trick is to have a way to send Prossh to the command zone so you can recast him. He makes for a really funny landfall deck though clunky.
Anje Falkonwrath may have all those "dead" madness cards, but you have to remember she is built to get you to your combo fast. Think of her as being DOOMSDAY in your command zone. But she destroys your opponents by discarding cards and drawing cards.
Korvold has a bunch of non-food chain ways to win the game. Prossh doesn't, so much.

I really appreciate you brought up oona I made my buddy and oona deck when he first started that is CEDH (no thorracle) because I needed someone to play with that had a strong enough deck but it definitely is lacking.
Jeskai partner pile should definitely be Malcolm/Akiri. Malcolm makes treasures, Akiri gets bigger naturally and you can use that as a clock and it comes down faster than Jeska/Ishai isn't an apparent threat right away drawing unfair attention.
Hmm. That’s good thinking. I kinda think rograkh/ishai has a lot of untapped potential too
I have a casual Akiri deck and can confirm having a first strike vigilance commander that gets bigger is quite strong. I could see Kraum as the other partner though if you want to focus on card advantage instead of ramp, which would be generic artifact value type things. However if you do Malcolm maybe you can afford some artifact stax pieces and swing out at people while they’re locked out?
I wonder if you consider malcolm bruse for the added upside of giving a pirate double strike, or if thats too cute
@@rangodash definitely like the sound of roghrakh/ishai to immediately turn on mox amber and the commander free spells. It just struggles from the angle of having access to mana or cards so if your opening hand is Roger dependant and it gets removed you're screwed.

I did win Ka0s 7 with Sisay. Deck isn't popular, but it is good.
Sisay is amazing! Sadly that Jegantha as companion doesn’t perform as Sisay on its own.

I got into cedh with Elsha Top and then changed it last year to Jeska & Ishai once I cae Cam's list. I'm currently 21-15-3 in local games/tournaments with it but in the last month I have picked up Kenrith which I am 8-2-2 with. I still love J&I but Kenrith is just better
Oof. The number of times “you should just play blue farm instead” was said makes me depressed. Sounds like a one deck meta to me.
It's just the most optimal deck right now, and WOTC isn't going to be doing cedh horizons any time soon so the format is badly positioned for shakeup.
You're completely ignoring the discussion at 10:14 about how there's like 20 decks that are really good. But if your decks identity is "pile of UBxx good cards" then yeah, blue farm or rogsi or tivit do it the best right now.
I think it’s more like being the best deck atm. There will always be a best one and this just so happens to be that I think the meta is good atm bc blue farm is way less centralizing than for example tymna/thras or najeela at their primes

Go look at the top 16 of a big cedh tournament. Usually, you only see 1-3 blue farms. It's actually a pretty varied meta right now.

i have an idea, do a video of a gameplay with one of those cedh cards. I think will be so intresting to watch what actually those decks can do and why there are so bad right now and not seeing much in the cedh meta. Also love the podcast you guys are doing, keep it up :D
Kess is definitely my pet deck and that’s on me for refusing to change, but she still slaps in my playgroup’s meta

i used to play mimeoplasm with buried alive to get blighted agent with anything with 10+ power and some haste. surprised a few people
The Mimeoplasm will always have a special place in the heart as my first commander.
Also, please ask the dogs for their opinions on the next poscast. I would buy a shirt so they get treats but I started college again and don't have much disposable income.
I run a Tymna-Thrasios control deck and actually love playing it. It top 4'd in the last tournament I played in and beat blue farm twice. Still a formidable deck. Love the episode though
The prossh list that top 16ed wasn’t on food chain, which is super interesting
My pet deck (Muldrotha) is not a great deck, but I love the play style and know it inside and out and it has some stax tech that works well against most of the meta I'm in.

Thoughts on Sauron, the Dark Lord? Seems strong, has draw in the Command zone, 7 power, very difficult (or least painful) to kill, allows for Underworld Breach, Thassa lines, wondering if you think he's a contender!

What I'm getting from this is the best way to win is to find a blue farm list and replace the commanders with ur dragon so no one suspects you.
What we got from this podcast:
Blue farm > all
The colour argument has a clear example in mono green. There is one mono green dot deck and they have like 10 cards difference between them. You can go ashaya commander, or go yeva and win with ashaya or do the weird selvala stuff.
They all suck sadly especially because I love green.

I feel like Selvala should be up here. Selvala was already fringe cEDH before, but now when your whole strategy revolves around casting Return of the Wildspeaker to draw 20 cards, orcish bowmasters absolutely shuts down the deck, and mono green just doesn't have interaction to stay alive.
Missed Sharuum on the list. Also, would love to see a game of 4 of these commanders.

Great vid, I feel like Prossh was a little underrated though. As the only deck on this list that (to my knowledge) has gotten two top 16s in the past two months, it feels like one of the better ones here. I'd put it above most of the decks on the list just because it has some recent tournament results (even if they're probably a fluke).

I just want to let the record show that you don’t need an extra piece to win w foodchain Prosh vs other fc decks… you need a different piece, but the same number of pieces.
Prosh doesn’t require the squee variant which is the worst of the cards you’d usually need to play. I mean, look, walking ballista isn’t amazing but it does something and goblin bombardment blows but not like squee blows. And you can just sac all your dudes to mayhem devil which is a pretty decent piece. 🤷♂️
43:34 had a guy at my locals play anje. was destroyed almost every game and every time someone hit them or targeted them they would get upset and say "why me? im playing anje! its a bad deck!". Im convinced the deck is reserved for nut jobs.
An Edric list did pretty good at the mox masters invitational. The list lost a lot of the evasive dorks

Several cards have been banned in the past for stagnating their respective formats. You repeatedly mentioned "why not Blue Farm?". Therefore, should Tymna be banned (or even farther: ban partners)? What does the format look like post Blue Farm winter?
I think Armix/Kraum is way better than Magda. I would actually argue for it potentially being the best pure Grixis deck right now.
Was a bit surprised to not see more mono-colored decks. If I see a Heliod or a mono-green deck across the table I will probably totally ignore it x)

Dark Deal would be a pick over Misfortune in Rog Si if you needed to run 4 right?
Dark Deal isn't really card advantage, where Wheel of Misfortune would actually net you cards
IMO; the less colors = the less scary, Mono blue Urza compared to grixis anything. Urza still obviously top notch powerful, but less random curveballs you can hide.
I suppose with the added caveat that if I see a 4c blood pod deck I shake their hand and wish them the best sadly.
