It’d be interesting if witchspace had different “shades” depending on what part of the galaxy you are in. Suggesting hyperspace has its own “regions” we barely understand and isn’t just a thing we pass through to get where we’re going.

Yeah that was pretty intense, it kept pulsing in and out of vision and you see it flash for a second as you pass through it. If that was me my bum cheeks would be fully clenched.
Yeah, looks like he floated through some kind of invalid texture- looked like almost a moon or planet. In the beginning at 0:36 it almost for a second looks alive, or just the imagination at least. Like imagine if they added easter eggs to the jumps where you could see a Thargoid ship moving through witchspace with full control etc and it just scans you etc without hyperdicting you.
There's stories about ships, even capital ships, being stuck in hyperspace when their frameshift drive gave while in jump. I wouldn't be surprise if some scientists fiddled around with a drive and managed to get their whole planet sucked into the void.
The game loaded a planet and you hit it, which made the game freak out. You can see the surface of the planet before the white space appeared. The white space is actually the fog/atmosphere of that planet (Which you would normally see if you go under a planet surface).

It's technically a bug, specifically a network error that basically functions like an arcade kill screen - you can't get out unless you reset the game. But the witchspace effects are almost certainly deliberate.
that planet fading in and out of existence made me feel uneasy. I've been flying elite so long, I sometimes forget how scary it can be. had a minor graphic bug some days ago when I arrived after a jump, damn that shit scared me.
They should make this a feature where in some areas the animation and sound changes. If there was a possibility for your FSD to malfunction in some regions leaving you stranded in the middle of nowhere until you reboot would also be awesome.
That isn't how Elite works, unfortunately. You can't collide with objects in supercruise/hyperjump. All celestial bodies have an exclusion zone- a point where if you hit it, you get kicked out into normal speed *before* hitting the object. You can't collide with anything until you're in normal cruise. Hyperspace isn't a real "place" in the game, it's just a fancy loading screen. So it's impossible to hit the EZ (exlusion zone) mid-jump. Once your jump starts, you're not "in the world" anymore to hit anything.
Man, this is amazing. Makes me want to jump back to Elite. Never seen a witchspace like that. It seemed to have planets or some kind of gigantic structures. Really cool.
Voices, shapes, colors, the liminal echoes of something there, just behind you, closing in around you, shapeless forms of ghosts and nebulae, your ship, shuddering and creaking like a cornered animal, time for you has stopped, but around you it passes by like a sea of hands, reaching out for you as you whisk through the infinite chasm of witchspace. I can only imagine the feeling of someone lost in there, stuck for hours on a primitive frame shift jump like that. It would be more than enough to drive some to and over the brink of sanity.

aye i have heard stories of pilots getting stuck in the warp and seeing terrifying monsters, demons in the warp some make it out some are never seen again the Chaos of the warp is something truly to behold
The planet at the beginning.... you passed through it. While it is possible to pass through a mega mass/gravity object like a planet in witch space(which should never have to happen unless there is a route planning error), it greatly decreases the chances that your drive can recover you from witch space, EVER. The Frame Shift Drive must overcome the gravity well of the entire planet you passed through, to do it. And while it seems impossible to travel through witch space forever, if makes sense when you understand the context. You are no longer moving in a direct line. You are looping through witchspace, in an erratic orbit around the planet you passed through. If your erratic orbit passes you through another planetary body during this infinite loop, the dueling gravity wells will rip your ship apart, with near certainty - which is the GOOD result. Since time does not pass in Witch space, if the ship cannot break the planetary gravity well, and the ship never breaks apart, you are stuck in witchspace for eternity.
I wish we could explore witchspace... and firstly have misjumps and all kind of accidents possible leading to that exploration. Also its way cooler than normal hyperspace, jumps should look like that!

Just imagine if Frontier would make a extra rare jumpdrive anomaly, when you are in jump you get teleported to another part of the galaxy, to unexplored system and sees an alien beacon.

Literally everything is normal, the usual, and the expected up until it hits 0:34. Of which case, things get real fucking weird. Those flashes of light? The sudden darkness... then the drastic change of the appearance of space (tie that in with the sounds)... I'd say this happened because your internet was slacking and you got stuck in hyperspace for a long time because of it... however, this is the first time I've seen any of this.
I,ve always thought there should be rare occasions in witchspace where some creature splats off your windscreen , prehaps leaving some rare biological artifact to spiral into real space with you

I know this is a glitch but damn if I didn't wish jumps didn't have more varied effects like this. I love the current ones but after the 5th or 6th time you just kind of stop paying attention to them.
Imagine having a crazy long jump, you finally get out and you just hear something banging around in your ship...like someone...or something has boarded.
At this point, I really wish we could explore space for real. With our crew, squad and HQ or home to return to with resources, loot and information. I would love to complete space mission, specially escorting.

witchspace is basically the warp from Warhammer 40k, voices and structures have been seen/heard when traveling through it. regardless, if your ftl requires you to jump through another dimension to achieve your desired results, there are gonna be some inherent eldritch risks
anyway they should add a way to explore hyperspace. it would be extremely dangerous and only the best pilots would be able to stay alive for more than a few minutes, but the ability to actually explore it and go on the offensive against the thargoids would be really crazy
As an average commander in Elite Dangerous, the only scariest moment I almost cried to was being hyperdicted by thargoids near the MAIA solar system. Learning how SOME commanders were able to witness the MOST ABSURD AND SCARIEST things in hyperspace, I’ll just immediately melt down
I swear I could see something written in the light vortex lightning between 0:39 and 0:45, especially the final one that snaps in and out of view... They're a bit like a mix between Thargoid and Human written language around the 1200s... Elite 84 player hhere, been playing ED since the Alpha, I have NEVER seen this bug! Surprising. The newer hyperspace visuals are a lot better, haven't seen the old one in a while, was nice to revisit. Now we know what Starship one seen before it all got........weird..... or maybe you just passed by Raxxla..

I remember in the original Elite, there was always a small chance to get stuck in witchspace and be dumped somewhere in the Thargoids relm.

Just imagine if Frontier would make a extra rare jumpdrive anomaly, when you are in jump you get teleported to another part of the galaxy, to unexplored system and sees an alien beacon.

Literally everything is normal, the usual, and the expected up until it hits 0:34. Of which case, things get real fucking weird. Those flashes of light? The sudden darkness... then the drastic change of the appearance of space (tie that in with the sounds)... I'd say this happened because your internet was slacking and you got stuck in hyperspace for a long time because of it... however, this is the first time I've seen any of this.

I,ve always thought there should be rare occasions in witchspace where some creature splats off your windscreen , prehaps leaving some rare biological artifact to spiral into real space with you

I know this is a glitch but damn if I didn't wish jumps didn't have more varied effects like this. I love the current ones but after the 5th or 6th time you just kind of stop paying attention to them.

witchspace is basically the warp from Warhammer 40k, voices and structures have been seen/heard when traveling through it.
regardless, if your ftl requires you to jump through another dimension to achieve your desired results, there are gonna be some inherent eldritch risks

anyway they should add a way to explore hyperspace. it would be extremely dangerous and only the best pilots would be able to stay alive for more than a few minutes, but the ability to actually explore it and go on the offensive against the thargoids would be really crazy

I swear I could see something written in the light vortex lightning between 0:39 and 0:45, especially the final one that snaps in and out of view... They're a bit like a mix between Thargoid and Human written language around the 1200s...

2) The dimension of absolute chaos from "Event Horizon"
3) Reality (crash to desktop)
4) At your designated target system.

@sacred star I was thinking of Event Horizon and Dead Space. If we're getting space legs it would be cool if they added some missions involving Witchspace investigations like recovering data from ships trapped in there. Who knows what lurks in the shadows.
Some say, that CMDR is still flying through space and time. Already seeing the beginning of everything as well as the end of everything. No one knows if we will ever see the CMDR again.
Elite 84 player hhere, been playing ED since the Alpha, I have NEVER seen this bug! Surprising. The newer hyperspace visuals are a lot better, haven't seen the old one in a while, was nice to revisit. Now we know what Starship one seen before it all got........weird..... or maybe you just passed by Raxxla..
