@@CreeperDude-cm1wv Yes, you always get pulled into a system. Due to how game instances work, There is no deep space instance. You can be 5 ly away from your target or origin system but you will still be in a system.
I remember my first interdiction. Shit gets scary when you’re an explore and are traveling through the witch head. It’s happened so many times I can almost pick a interdiction out by instinct.
So you jumped into Hyper speed, looked like you appeared to cover some ground, and then you were pulled out pretty much where you started? thought you would have been pulled out somewhere in between the two points :s (see 0:16 & 0:51) not questioning the video, just thought it was interesting how Thargoid interdection works.
If we assume that current theories of spacetime are (more or less) correct, a wormhole would appear to the traveler as something like a portion of real spacetime existing independently of our universe - a sort of mini-universe of it's own. There would only be two points of connection to our universe, one at each 'end' of the wormhole. So if you are pitched out, you'll end up at one or the other, probably with a 50:50 chance of either. There's simply nowhere else to get off.

It's the thargoid object. They scan you first then they emit some kind of sound, if you analyze the sound coming from it,, you find that it's giving you 3D coordinates, and with those 3D you can see that it's the crude drawing of your ship. coordinates it's drawing of the ship you are in.
So, in my encounter, yesterday, I was able to boost away the instant Hyperdiction was done and managed a second boost between system stutters. The thargoid did finally shut down my systems, but I was already travelling at nearly 500 away from them. They gave up and took off before my systems recovered.
I had one of those bastards pull me out of hyperspace while I was coming back home for repairs (including a broken windscreen) after a long session of pirate hunting Needless to say, I got back to the station with less than a minute of oxygen remaining

Me wondering what these Thargoids are...keep seeing the term and the weird look through the hyper space but this is first time seeing it up close. Wild. Do they just like to muk about and use the ships as play toys
i would scramble to reset systems and get the ship back online and then haul ass to the nearest station and report what was seen, even if it is hostile to the faction i am in

Lots of things has been added. Along with quality of life updates. More ways to engage with Thargoids. If you have the DLC I would say, you can start by getting used to SRV controls. From there, engineering your ship to increase your ships modules to get more out of your parts. Then Alien stuff :D P.S. Alien stuff can be difficult.
I started again after 2 years, the first thing i did was shooting at my home station while trying to leave the docking bay because i didnt even know how to fly anymore. Got annihilated.

Don't ever give up, my son
Anyone else thing yuzhong vong when seeing this?
I freaked out for a second lol
Outbound Flight anyone?
@@kukuc96 in a way Thargoids are like anti-borg, living organic Starships with no clear indication if they even have crew or if the ship itself is the guiding intelligence, I think they would intimidate even the Borg in sufficient numbers
imagine if the medusa or hydra could interdict you like this... way more terrifying then it already is
Spoiler alert
They actually do. And not alone, got hyperdicted by 3 medusa just yesterday
I was a mere Beluga commander when I was first hyper-dicted.
Lets just say the tips that day were great.
An example of how powerful good sound design can be
1:17 this sounds so much like Alien Isolation. It doesn't make me feel too good.
And... there's people fighting this ???? Jesus I would be too scared to even scratch it !!!!
It's actually really easy those Cyclops aren't very tough. If you are in a Wing you can pretty much Insta-Kill them
if that's a Scout of their ships then what do their Capitols look like if that where they end at get something big like the greater ark from halo
Never been hyperdicted yet, but white dwarves sure instill a divine fear in me.
I never realized the rupture of time-space fabric (or something like that) this thing creates, and the fast spinning as well, just before it enters into the worm hole until now.
that first sound when they interdict you gives chills. by the way where did they pull you out into? just dead space?
200k away from jump point or something like that
@@AlicanGoodmane so you are in the system?
@@CreeperDude-cm1wv Yes, you always get pulled into a system.
Due to how game instances work, There is no deep space instance. You can be 5 ly away from your target or origin system but you will still be in a system.
I remember my first interdiction. Shit gets scary when you’re an explore and are traveling through the witch head. It’s happened so many times I can almost pick a interdiction out by instinct.
Elite isn't even a horror game, yet this scene is scarier than most horror games and movies that came out recently
1 Ly is a really long distance. and I was out like 300-400k Ls from star. So it covered some distance.
Its funny how a thargoid is able to pull you out of hyperspace, essentially decellerating you by who knows how much.
yeah.. quite interesting.. maybe a bug
@Blubedcon I'm pretty sure that it only works that way for supercruise. It works a little differently for hyperspace I think
Its sad to see elite decline into the abyss in the shadow of other better space sims like Star Citizen
I probably would have shat myself if that had been my first encounter with a Thargoid
Sound is stunning and the interdiction itself Is soooo scary
you can actually tell and prepare if you're going to get hyperdicted, if your ship starts shaking a bit, you're fine, if it's perfectly still then it's a hyperdiction
Something so damn bone chilling about being in middle of space and your ship just powers off out of no where and than an alien ship appears
Everbody gangsta till you see the fan is pulling you of space
welcome to elite dangerous, with your daily dose of terror
Some of the sound effects are present in the film "Interstellar" or are very similar and I didn't notice it before lol.
Cool stuff.
Nice I haven't paid that much attention to movie :D
First time i saw this i almost pissed my pants,i mean bruh i could literately feel the hairs on the back of my neck standing up 🤣
How do we hear the flower in the vacuum of space?
I'd say virtualization. Some kind of sensor tracking close by objects for vibrations and creating a virtual sound.
Space isn't a perfect vacuum so sound does travel in it.
@@TheGoldfishAssasin true that it's not a true vacuum but there are far too few particles (atoms) for sound to vibrate
I'd just say sci-fi logic, but eh...
@@jspr2k5 Waves don't need particles to travel, only to vibrate. The impact of sound waves against the ship and through its interior still produce a sound.
Not to mention, the more mass/distance a wave has to travel through, the more its frequency and amplitude are dampened.
3 years later that still looks badass, I'd still get excited seeing that happen to me.
COVAS: "Scan detected!"
Me: "Oh geez, thanks COVAS! Abit late on the trigger dont you thing?!"
Did the scan warning came because you dropped the cargo or because COVAS was sleepy when the Thargoid scanned you?
The video is from when the first interdictions were starting to happen. So It was the Unknown Artifact that scanned me. Now known as Thargoid ?Probe? I think.
@@AlicanGoodmane I know when the video is from, I checked the date that it was uploaded. But it looked like COVAS warned you about the Thargoid that scanned you as it was kinda right after your ship botted up
It's the thargoid object. They scan you first then they emit some kind of sound, if you analyze the sound coming from it,, you find that it's giving you 3D coordinates, and with those 3D you can see that it's the crude drawing of your ship. coordinates it's drawing of the ship you are in.
@@AlicanGoodmane I see
Literally got chills watching this high. Holy fuck.
Player: WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU?!
Alien: ayy lmao
So, in my encounter, yesterday, I was able to boost away the instant Hyperdiction was done and managed a second boost between system stutters. The thargoid did finally shut down my systems, but I was already travelling at nearly 500 away from them. They gave up and took off before my systems recovered.
I had one of those bastards pull me out of hyperspace while I was coming back home for repairs (including a broken windscreen) after a long session of pirate hunting
Needless to say, I got back to the station with less than a minute of oxygen remaining
I love the fact that his first reaction wasnt to try and shoot but to scan lol
It was for science 😅
I feel really bittersweet watching this. On one hand this is such a cool thing to see, but on the other I don't get to experience seeing this for myself in game.
One of the bad consequences of limited time events. Not everyone gets to live it.
damn i remember that feeling... my hands were shaking xD
Me wondering what these Thargoids are...keep seeing the term and the weird look through the hyper space but this is first time seeing it up close. Wild. Do they just like to muk about and use the ships as play toys
The first player to get interdicted must've shit themselves.
1:01 i would hate to be in this position if this happened irl
Its when it happens right after too u think there really gonna get ya
i would scramble to reset systems and get the ship back online and then haul ass to the nearest station and report what was seen, even if it is hostile to the faction i am in
Sound design is so important in video games, other devs should learn from frontier
When your doing a jump but the jump is taking longer than usual then you think "MAYBE THIS IS THE ONE" but you realize you've been downloading a game on steam 🤣
this is the only game that’s ever given me goosebumps
the fact you are left completly imobile is 200% more terrifying ontop of the slow reveal
That alien vessel is coincidentally the same shape and sound my asshole would make if I suddenly got pulled out of hyperspace by an curious moaning flower 🌸
This has made me want to play again but I haven't played in about 4 years and wouldn't know where to start. I have an Imperial Clipper parked somewhere.
Lots of things has been added. Along with quality of life updates. More ways to engage with Thargoids. If you have the DLC I would say, you can start by getting used to SRV controls. From there, engineering your ship to increase your ships modules to get more out of your parts.
Then Alien stuff :D
P.S. Alien stuff can be difficult.
I started again after 2 years, the first thing i did was shooting at my home station while trying to leave the docking bay because i didnt even know how to fly anymore. Got annihilated.
See you all after this video gets recommended to us in 5 years.
Thargoid translation: "What goods do you carry?"
.
.
"Pointless drag, my children will go hungry tonight..."
Damn, and I thought that my first ever NPC interdiction was scary
This sound design is astonishing
I wish I had a better computer to experience this on higher quality for immersion purposes... I have to put most things at minimum and I'm still at 30 FPS
When this happened to me the first time that was the coolest moment in videogames ever. The sound design and general atmosphere in this game are breathtaking. Haven't played in a long time but now i think i'll install it again.
I think it's worth a try, I mean the new DLC is coming up anyways, if you had any unfinished stuff you can do them to get ready for the Odyssey at the moment of my reply.
god, when the game is unscripted and this looks like its out of an AAA campaign
