That's one of my all-time favorite songs. He was also a brilliant actor as well. Even played a character named "Eddy" in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. He will be missed💖

Meat Loaf was a legend. My dad brought me up listening to the Bat Outta Hell album, one of the best albums ever in all of music!
Meatloaf will be very missed. He has quite a few beautiful ballads, but you need to hear him rock out. Bat Out of Hell is a must. Goodness, the vocals, the transitions. Just crazy.
I discovered Meat loaf nearly 30 years ago when he released his biggest hit single I’d do anything thing for love, but I won’t do that. Which is my favourite song from him and is a definitely recommend for you to check out and react to

Great music from my teens years. My favorite by him…. He was larger than life. Paradise by the dash board light and Bat out of hell are a must. We’ve lost a great musician s d story teller. It makes me so happy to see the younger generation discover the music from the 70’s.

This song is the epitome of the idea that "Hurt People hurt people" -- Meatloaf ends up breaking his current girl's heart by telling her that he could never love her because he will always love another, but he's only in a position to do this because a previous girl told him the same thing.
There's another interpretation that it's the same girl both times. But when she came back he couldn't trust her again and used her own words against her

It is a song that Meatloaf himself did not write. He is a performer.
RIP Marvin Lee Aday (AKA Meat Loaf). He was a distant cousin of mine. While it may be true that he had Covid, he died of other health complications. The health complications he had actually caused him to collapse on stage. He was a very gifted and talented artist and performer. We will miss him but, we still have his music.
Please do more Meat Loaf. He is awesome. Prayers for you and your wife.

Ha ha....my first experience with Meat Loaf. Well, when I met my husband, I was hard core country. I had heard some pop/rock songs and I had even heard this song once. The first time I went to his house, he asked me if I would listen to someone he really liked and of course I said yes. He put "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights" on and I could not understand a word Meat was saying. There is a part in that song that seemed so out of place to me and I must have looked dazed and confused because my hubby just sat there laughing. Afterward, he explained the song to me, including the "out of place" part. Needless to say, I grew to love Meat Loaf very much and I have about every CD of his. He will surely be missed by so many people.
A must see and hear from Meatloaf is the video" I would do anything for love( but I won't do that )", Beautiful song and great story telling video. He was so ahead of his time! He combined Rock and Theatre to perfection, paving the way for symphonic rock/metal music

I was a teen falling in love with my first wife when 'Bat Out Of Hell' came out. The album was an odyssey and brings back such fond memories. Meatloaf was an incredible artist.
Yea you MUST do “ Anything for love “ it was a monster UK hit and was number one for like 10 weeks , it also earned him his only Grammy
His music is best described as theatrical Rock , his music reminds me of my mom ❤️

I saw them in concert, it was one hell of a performance.
They said it was covid.. but he had some major underlying issues if you watch interviews before his death you'll see
he was lined up for (another) surgery to address the degenerating disks in his spine.
he may have been positive for Covid, but he was already in a bad position to fight off any cold or infection.
Plus I think he had a stroke the previous year.

I'm from Dallas as was Meat! My first time experiencing the talent of Meat was when he sang The Star-Spangled banner at the Major League baseball All-Star game! That is definitely worth a listen and a review!
@5:05 that is Jim Steinman on the piano, the writer of all of Meat's hits and hits for other artists as well.
Another great legend from my years growing up, he maybe gone but will never be forgotten a great loss to the music world for sure.
Jim Steinman, playing the piano here, wrote this song, and almost all of Meat Loaf's songs. He was a genius who wrote for other artists as well, but no one sang Jim Steinman's sings like Meat Loaf. Steinman died a few months before Meat Loaf did.
Paradise by the Dashboard Light. Favorite Meat Loaf song and it's actually from the same show of the video you just watched. Meat Loaf was in theater before his career in Rock and that man was theatrical. It's a fun, upbeat song and the performance will blow your mind.

MeatLoaf some people hear the name and think just loud rock music , but has sang so many beautiful songs with depths of feelings. like - a kiss is a terrible thing to waste , lost boys and golden girls , because of you , no matter what , heaven can wait and , for crying out loud . to name just a few you should listen too.
Saw him live when a kid still in high school. He came to the Detroit area basically promoting Bat Out of Hell. Sat right near the stage (Pine Knob Amphitheatre, 1978) and was astounded at the power he had, both in stage presence and that voice!
Meatloaf was a great singer . Bat out of hell album is still played today .

It’s honestly heartwarming and a bit heartbreaking at the same time that just NOW in the last year or so Meatloaf is getting the recognition he deserved his whole life.
His genre of rock was quite niche, and his appearance was not really working in his favor, but no one can deny the man’s vocals. What a voice ❤
And the lyrics? Can we give him some extra applause for the lyrics 👏🙏

This is my favorite Meatloaf song although he's got others that I like. The thing that I like about meatloaf and it shocked me the first time I ever heard him, is that Meatloaf is a classical trained musician singing rock music and I thought man how was the classical musician going to be able to sing rock music but then I heard meatloaf singing as the saying goes that's how the saying goes he was really good way better than I thought a classical trained artist could ever sing rock music but he's one of the better ones.

So, great reaction to one of the greatest performers of our time. Meat Loaf was a really good actor and he used that talent to become the person that was "singing" whatever song he was sharing. He had a real knack for expressing the personality of the "70's and 80's especially! "Paradise By the Dashboard Light" has always been one of my favorites simply because I don't think there was a single teenager in the '70's that had NOT had that experience at least to some degree. I really enjoy watching your reaction videos, and hearing your thoughts and insights!. I look forward to seeing more. Take care!

It's the same song but a different artist covering it. Check out Jamey Johnson's version of this. It's got a more country feel. But the lyrics sound like a country song anyway. I love both versions.

See that girl is true love locked up his heart so bad that he couldn't even love another and so all he could do is the same thing she did to him give them two of the three things but she would never ever get the love for him that she needed because he was never able to get it from the girl he loved and it messed his heart up. Now you can see why so many of us love meatloaf even though he was kind of a short lived artist the stuff that he did though was very very good and his voice the power of His Voice wow.
