I work at a dealership in Colorado. We once had a thief steal a Dakota pickup and have a set of 33 inch tires put on it the next day (receipt in the glove box). The truck was recovered in less then a week with over 10k in damage from the oversized tires. Another thing that has happened on occasion is stereos getting upgraded in thefts.

You should check the breaks and other parts to make sure nothing was swapped out. I knew someone who rented a challenger and swapped the entire shock and breaks and put her broken worn out parts on the rental.

Sometimes criminals do minor/major things to kind of camouflage a stolen vehicle. My car was stolen and found 30 days later with a shitty spray job on the hood and tint wrap in the car. But they literally wrecked the inside aswell and theres a lot more scratches on it so you were pretty lucky that they didn't destroy it too much.

The computer should be able to isolate how it’s been used, and maybe even locations visited.
If there is any GPS or location diary information in the car's electronic innards that should be searched and studied.
