Was fortunate enough to try the 98 and it did not disappoint! I felt that with version 5, overall feel was a bit harsh. Then came version 6 with the VDM handle, 2G-Namd Flex Force in the shaft, and new head shape. It definitely muted it but felt in sum, was almost too much. Less vibration and enhanced flex but lost some feel as a result. Having compared the V.5 & V.6 against the new V.7, the changes in geometry seemed to have hit the right balance! Not quite as muted as the 6 yet still plenty comfortable vs the 5. IMO, they may have struck upon the right formula.

Can someone help me to decide?
I am 18 years old and i‘m playing Tennis for about 5+ years. Currently I am playing with the Wilson Blade 98 18x20 v7. After one year right now, I do not feel that confident with the racket as I felt in the beginning. It seems that I am not a fan of the high Swingweight anymore. So I tested about 8-9 rackets over the last 3 months and my final two rackets are the Head Speed Pro 2022 and the Yonex Ezone 100 2022. With the head I feel more controlled an stable but I have problems with the lenght of my shots and the power, so I give my opponent more opportunities. With the Ezone I have a lot of Power, a good lenght of my shots and I can go for easy Winners, but the Ezone is not as stable and controlled as the Head Speed. In addition my slices are much better with the speed as with the Ezone. I really like both rackets and I really dont know how to decide

It seems like it runs 50/50 with regards to whether these minute changes result in anything measurable in performance, comfort or feel. Often times change is nothing more than change. Flip a coin and either the aesthetics look better or worse depending on the brand and model and in some cases with a few racquets off the top of my head, the newbs were a step in the wrong direction. How many of us have eagerly demo'd a redesign only to be left with "what on earth have they done to my racquet?" I realize manufacturers have got to keep the machine moving but over the years, unless there's been a radical redesign, I've come to the conclusion most of these year to year changes either are sharpening the edge of an already precisioned to perfection instrument or doing nothing more than moving new graphite off the walls to keep people employed and well, I guess in the end that's a good thing for all of us.

If they changed the beam thickness which they have it is a completely new mold. That being said it will have a completely different feel I promise you that. Will be interesting what the new feel is.
