    Good review, thanks! Regarding flex... is it noticeably more flexible than 2021? How does it compare to Ezone? That forehand late in the video that sailed on you is something I do with the 2021 all the time... if you don't really assertively finish strokes, they sail. It made me look around at other racquets but then I adjusted my stoke and set up a bit (but still do it occasionally! ha ha).

    • @time410s
      @time410s  Год назад +2

      It is perhaps a bit more flexible feeling. Maybe not as much as you'd think for the difference on paper but flex doesn't say everything. The beam is slightly thicker in some areas as well but overall RA lower. You may or may not notice but I'd say yes.
      I imagine what happens to me on shots like that is largely just the balance but I won't know until I test it. You'll see the difference in a future upload where I'm also hitting at IW but with the EZONE.

      Ha, so it's not just me. Try both in stock form or to your setup? I haven't, yet. I specifically get more with the 98 EZONE, I don't quite feel that way about the 100. Again, not what you'd expect from headsize alone.

    • @schoenlinggwunderbar
      @schoenlinggwunderbar Год назад +2

      It pretty much depends on the swing style. Ezone‘s throat design is more aerodynamic and supports a late head acceleration right after impact. This gives you more head speed and therefore spin, but only if you brush the ball or in other words, have a more vertical type of swing. If you hit more through the ball, Ezone is faster and has less spin than Vcore. That’s what I experienced

    Thanks for the review! Hows the power level and feel on contact compared to last gen? Something interesting about the new vcore 98 is that the twist weight went down from 14.4 to 13.9. So I think the racket should feel more polarized when you swing it.

    • @time410s
      @time410s  Год назад +1

      Interesting. Maybe the stability sensation comes from other factors. It's too hard to say this all very definitely until I've set it up to my taste. I would agree a more polarized setup leads to more spin potential. I haven't met anyone who disagrees with that who also know what a polarized setup is.
      Feel a little bit after and maybemore dwell time. I wonder if the sensation of stability has to do with dwell time. Maybe!

      Not too much actually. My funky grip mod which really is just a little layering of tape to fill into my hand better. This way there's really no gap between my hand and the handle. Maximizes contact with the handle, in other words. Molds the grip to my hands more. Also, adds a couple grams of weight.
      Otherwise, for now, that's it. Might play with weight just a little bit in the head but I really like it as it is so I'll have to be gentle with any tweaks from here.

Best, John

    • @time410s
      @time410s  Год назад +1

      Hello! The VCORE and EZONE are pretty different. Specifically, the 98 is less stable and more powerful. The VCORE 100 much more stable and less spin friendly but good all around control. You get what you give, you know? On paper that might be way more suitable to your style. That or the VCORE 98. I think that one is more versatile. Some think the 100 is too powerful. EZONE 100 very powerful and pretty darn stable. You might like that or might find it annoying. Not the most arm friendly racket but it's not bad.
      If you love touch shots and care more about hitting great angles and drop shots, etc, the VCORE PRO is cool. Very comfortable. Stable, good access to everything except power. That can be a struggle on any VCORE Pro racket but you might not be bothered by it. Depends how much power you want access to. That one runs out for me when I have more to give. Some might not be hitting as hard and won't be as handicapped with it in that way.
      One of the best feeling rackets, by the way.

    Just my experience with the prior VCore 98, but I never found it to be a particularly spin friendly racquet, certainly nowhere near as good as, say, the Head Extreme Tour (with both in stock form). I also agree that the Ezone 98 (in stock form) is better with spin than the stock VCore 98 (last gen). It's puzzling that Yonex would make its midplus "spin" frame with a denser string pattern than the last; I'm sure it will be even worse for spin with that change. All in all, I think the VCore 95 and the VCore 100 are the better frames in the VCore line.

      I used the 2021 Vcore 95, and now I switched to the Vcore 98 2023 to gain a bit more forgiveness and more spin from the 16x19 string pattern, and this is exactly what I got. I can definitely feel more spin/kick on my serve with the 98, and I also got more depth on my groundstrokes, plus I have less frame hits. I am quite happy with this racquet.

    Babolat, Yonex and Diadem have gone softer on their latest releases. Seems like a new trend.
    Head Auxentic technology aims towards more stability rather than softening up the stringbed.
    Yonex went Boom-mode with the new head shape or did Head went Isometric mode first to catch Yonex? Don't know the answer but that enlarged sweet spot from 10 and 2 o clock on both brands' latest releases can't be a coincidence.

      But technically I don't actually compete. It's not my thing but most of my hitting partners are all 4.5 or open level since 5.0 is hard to come by for tournaments most just play open.
      Some people have a problem with me expressing my level with these numbers but what am I supposed to say, I don't have one?
      It's an honest representation of the hitting intensity and such that I play with. But I am not a tournament ranked 4.5-5.0
