All modern tennis rackets and strings provide everything for the player. Why the player doesn’t even need skills. The racket and string does everything for them.
Great video! Have you ever tried Nisplay L1 Ball Machine? Or their other machines maybe
I tried zero on the pure aero 100, strung it at 52 and it killed my arm within just half an hour of hitting, had to replace the strings back to hyper g, these had an absolute trampoline affect.
Sorry to hear that. Do you string Hyper G at the same? I generally suggest stringing lower but then you might face the dilemma of too much power in that case.
@ yea hyper g at 52-55
Hi, is the tourna cs 150 have a turntable brake ? Thank's Réjean
It does lock.
Ok but why did you add the sad music instead if anythung peppy
It was more cinematic than sad haha.
hey dude any recommendations for shoes for narrow heel? I've tried everything as narrow as asics solution speed to wider like k-swiss but heel slips in all of them.. the only one that doesnt slip is a old pair of nike court lite 2s (womens version sized to my male size), thx!
That's a trickier one to gauge, I can't think of any off the top.
For all the mentioned products, here is my link tree linktr.ee/zerolovetennis
I saw that you have a recommended product on your Amazon link: silicone tape. What's that for? I know you're a fan of building up your handles with aluminum tape. Do you think silicone tape is better for that? Thanks. (BTW, I really enjoy those colorful heat shrink sleeves you recommended)
@@4th3birdz great question! I used to use that as a base grip and would layer it up. It sticks to itself incredibly well and has a slight give to it. It was a bit quicker to apply on the handle as the buildup area would essentially build up faster but it was overall just more malleable but still plenty rigid enough. I also liked the weight it added. Similar to leather. You did a deep dive!
@@ZeroLoveTennis Thanks for the info. Do you like it better than the rubbery heat shrink (in lieu of a traditional replacement/base grip)?
I use the rubbery heat shrink now because my goals are totally different. I want no asymmetry and wrapping anything causes that. Heat shrink is totally smooth all the way around. But I do like this heat shrink quite a lot anyway. They're both great, I just had different goals in mind. I also would do heat shrink with aluminum tape!
This is kind of slow unless you're super lazy.
@@saeedm even if that's true, you can have your balls picked up as you are hitting. That's something you could only achieve if you're in two places at once.
Damn it...got me!
I put a chocolate bar in there so i can eat it between points
Keeping it wrapped so it doesn't leak everywhere, hopefully?
Hey what string do you use?😊
Hyper G came on this demo but it's not my favorite string. To see my favorite strings, I recently did a video breakdown! ruclips.net/video/djKfOL2Xjkg/видео.html
Wow… I’m hitting with an old 18x20 Wilson Kfactor 95 and use a full bed of MSV Hepta Twist 17gauge strings at 56lbs.. i tried going at 50lbs and had to cut them out the third time hitting. But 44lbs is crazy low!
Haha it is crazy on paper but it being an 18x20 helps and Zero holds tension better than just about anything on the market. 44lbs for Zero would be what many polys might fall to in a couple days at say..52lbs. So, for Zero specifically, it actually is less crazy than it would be for most strings. I promise!
@ very interesting cuz when I tried the zero at 50lbs I found it to be way too soggy… but when I went up in tension to 54, it felt more responsive with less balls spraying. I’ll try them again once I finish up my reel of strings first. Tbh, the Hepta twist MSV strings have been the most unique feeling I’ve experienced with an 18x20 racket in years… the strings cup the ball to the very size of the ball while offering tons of bite and control with power, all at the same time.. I love it. However they’re not the most durable strings on the market but I looked at it from a ROI standpoint -if I’m getting amazing results immediately from the strings, then take my money right now lol. I don’t like break in periods or having to get used to them after restringing them. Hopefully next time I try the zero strings I can dial in the right tension for an optimal performance.. 👍👍👍
I have a decently brushy stroke and that may or may not be some of the difference in our tension preferences. Currently using the 16 gauge and going low, experimenting with crosses. It's also winter, so I might go a bit higher in hotter climates. Hoping to settle on strings more soon (I kind of have) but it is the nature of what I do here, to test things, and the nature of who I am as well haha.
@ thanks for the prompt reply amigo… love your stuff and look forward to the next video 🤙
I'm looking forward to it as well! Thank you, happy to help. I suggest sync crosses with Zero btw, I like it a bit better than a full bed of Zero. Maybe I already said that.
Alibaba fake nimbus. Need to incorporate this in with the launcher. A complete system.
That would be a big machine! Perhaps better to just have them separate. I'll have both in the near future :)
I fear it would increase chance of breakage with every adjustment.
Hard to say, if it moves the notches out of the area, then you'd be using a fresh section of string and that could buy some time. Or increasing tension could reduce movement a bit, if movement is the reason your strings are breaking then it could also help.
Glad to see you are finally rocking Enso Pro. The string deserves better than just crosses imo. Maybe Super Toro + that yellow Enso if you need a hybrid. That will look amazing colors wise and plays great too.
Actually that navy and yellow idea sound siiiick. I might try just for the looks haha. I am very much a shaped-string guy for the mains but if you like round strings in a full bed, I can totally vouch for Enso being an awesome choice for that.
@ I’ve been back and forth with full beds of Super Toro and Enso Pro also with 2 hybrids of them lately. And I’ll agree that shaped Super Toro mains with Enso cross is the most versatile and best all around out of 4 possible options of these 2 strings. This hybrid plays in many ways like Solinco Confidential but with more power/spin while still providing tons of control and it is much longer lasting (durability, tension maintenance) w consistent hyper snapback until it breaks.
Which enso color do you like best? You try a few? I'll have to try the combo you mentioned haha.
@@ZeroLoveTennis in the hybrid with Super Toro, I use 1.25 yellow. For a full bed 1.27 matcha green.
Very nice! I'll test that out soon. Remind me the tension you think that's nice at for you in your setup?
Chance to review the new Black Ace 105 ? ... it looks awesome... but how is the power and spin ?
Power is very balanced, spin is great! More than this RF for sure. Closer to Pure Aero levels, maybe slightly more. Will review soon. Waiting for release of the new models.
@@ZeroLoveTennis have you played with the 300 (the red one) ?
The newest red one? It used to be yellow and I've played with the yellow. I've hit with all models from the last gen but only the blue one of this gen, however the rest are being sent to me very soon. Actually about to chat with prokennex in the next hour or so to set that up.
@@ZeroLoveTennis Yes the new one.. The new Black Aces and the Bags looks awesome. Really thinking to buy one but without a review its hard...It would be nice when you can review the 97/100 and 105 then point out for which style of play they are ;-)
I will review soon! I get them...tomorrow!
just bought a Bambu A1 and Im going to print trap doors with funny stuff.....inspired.
Oh niiice! Show me how that goes on IG if you get a chance!
Aesthetically, the strings colours, accent the frame nicely.
I was feeling it too. That sky blue and matcha. Still using the racquet like this but the strings might break in a few more hits. We shall see...
From Tennis Warehouse: Brittany: Open level player with a semi-western forehand and a two-handed backhand. She currently plays with the Yonex EZONE 100.
I see myself as a 2.5 player. I started playing this year, and I was using a Head Microgel Extreme 2008 (295g, 100 sq in). My coach told me that it was a good racket, but the technology is outdated. So, I asked him for advice on which racket to choose, and he recommended the Wilson Ultra 100, the Babolat Aero, and the Wilson Shift 99, which is the one I bought. I’ve seen many videos saying that the Shift 99 isn’t a beginner’s racket, and now I’m afraid it might not be suitable for me. Do you think it’s possible for me to handle this racket at my level? I tried the Pro Staff last week. I felt good control over the ball, but I had to make a huge effort just to get the ball over the net.
Hey there, good questions! To some degree, the idea of a racquet being "beginner friendly" is really over/understated. I think the most meaningful way in which you can reliably count on that to be true, is if the racquet has a really dense string pattern or a smaller headsize (like 97 or smaller) However, where I see that term being used in a less productive way is to describe a beginner racquet as something really light. There are many mid-weight racquets that are still quite easy to use. They are notably more stable and balanced in a way that favors good mechanics. So, I would say, that the shift 99 is actually fine! The Pure Aero 98/100 would also be fine. A prostaff or Yonex Percept 97D, things of that nature, would be not so fine. Your Shift 99 is a healthy and agreeable balance across many levels of play. It shouldn't be too light or too heavy for any one person to use, regardless of the level. So while your racquet may not be marketed as a beginner racquet, I would actually (generally) steer away from a true "beginner" racquet as they favor bad mechanics and are very quickly outgrown and can actually be really hard/awkward to use for someone that's actually decent. I hope it goes well for you but feel free to update me if you have questions. Tension and string choice can do a lot to bring you more power/control. Worth messing with that a bit before thinking the racquet isn't going to work for you.
@@ZeroLoveTennis Thank you very much for your response; it was very enlightening!
You're welcome! You'll get very different answers from different coaches, too, so don't take it to seriously. Unless the racquet is super heavy and very low powered, it's probably quite workable or appropriate. And who says a coach is the best authority, a lot of them are the "don't fix what isn't broke" mindset, which has it's place for sure but they can fall into racquet stereotypes in an unproductive way, imho.
@@ZeroLoveTennis Hi! I tested it today for 1 hour, super comfortable! I’d say the difference in weight is imperceptible. I strung it at 48 pounds (I was using 44), and I feel a lot of control with the racket. I still need more time to adapt, especially with my forehand-many shots either hit the net or went way past the baseline. But I feel that with a few more hours of practice, I’ll be fully adjusted. Thank you so much!
Prokennex really took to heart the comments about their previous paintjobs. Easily the best looking racket right now
It seems they have! It's nice when a company listens. I think they are finally getting around to refreshing the brand and being competitive in the modern market again. Good to see, because the racquets are genuinely impressive otherwise and now the aesthetic looks great too! Excited to have the other models in hand soon and share more :)
How does it compare to the current version?
I will do more side by side but besides what you can see, I know the layup material uses something different. They're calling it Aurelian Carbon but I don't quite know what is different about it or why/how it will matter. Will update on that when I figure it out. Additionally, the quality control is supposedly quite a bit tighter. They are allocating this lineup of racquets to be made by their best in the assembly line and so on, meeting a higher than average tolerance than the current industry average. I will see if this seems to be true for myself when I have a few more in hand but so far, my racquet specs were within a gram of one another.
Did you ditch the Dunlop SX300 Tour?
yes he did hes switched to the 105
@ ah ok. Very different racquets
Quite, but less so than it might appear. The spin was largely what I didn't want to compromise on and I don't feel as though I did. However, I did get much more touch and control. Maybe less easy power but still I get the power I need. Getting the rest of the lineup from ProKennex's new models soon. I'll see which ends up being the favorite, ultimately.
Sold them a few months ago!
@@ZeroLoveTennis ok that’s interesting. How was it going from 98 to 105 Head size?
Racket handle shapes can be modified. Cut strips of masking tape precisely matching the width of the #3 and 7 bevels to make the handle wider. Cut them off the racket using a steel ruler and razor. Precisely place them on the bevel and compress them slightly with a smooth straight plastic pen barrel applying even pressure. As little as 3 layers per side can easily be detected. I suspect that number would be lower for Zero Love. 😅
Someone commented about a funny handle shape to these but I feel like they're pretty similar to most racquets! Not rectangular. I wonder if that is from older prokennex examples that someone feels this way. I am generally quite sensitive to little things haha.
Around a 102--105 square inch seems about as big as most players should use otherwise the head is too sail like to play well for most players, not saying the person can use a 110 square inch racquet.
I would love if this racquet was just as it was but a slightly smaller head. I like some benefits of the larger head (especially on this frame) but I don't like how it lowers the sweetspot/contact point. I think larger heads get a bad rep (more than deserved) but I can understand it to some degree. However, I think anyone that tries this racquet would never guess or say that the headsize is too big. That idea comes from most bad beginner racquets also having a big head, making bigger heads look ridiculous and the fact most pros use 100 or a little smaller. But...I do get it. I just see both sides because I've tested it a lot to see where the truth really lies. Should make a video on that subject.
@@ZeroLoveTennis ProKennex is coming out with a Black Ace in a 98 square inch head size for 2025.
True! I should have one this week to test :)
@@ZeroLoveTennis The thing is 98--100 seems to be where people want and due to the sheer number of 27.25--27.5 inch models and the number of these being around 100--105 inch models ProKennex for tennis at least has been known for being a older person who is just slower or small persons/slower persons brand. ProKennex people do have a model in the 98 square inch frame just in the Q+ series in 3 models a Tour Pro 315, Tour Pro 325 and a Tour model.
I just wanted to order the current version based on your good reviews, do you think it worths waiting for the new release?
Me 2!
Heck yeah it is! Even just for the sweet paintjobs but it does seem to be an upgrade in a few ways. Layup material is a bit different and quality control is tighter! Tighter than the industry average...possibly something which would rival Yonex. We will see...this is what I'm told.
@@ZeroLoveTennis wow. Any ETA on possible arrival? Thanks for your insights
Within a week
@ amazing news! Thanks, exited!
Don't like the rectangular grips from Pro Kennex
I love these grips from ProKennex or Wilson. The grip shape is why I use an old cheap aluminum model of ProKennex in the early 2000's plus bought a bunch from e-Bay of this model. So much nicer then the models from Yonnex that are super square and almost round like some older pre WWII round grips.
Really? I actually...don't know if I even feel that they are rectangular. You might be thinking of some older models but I never held this handle and had any such thought, honestly. Only felt this way about some older head racquets (not sure if any current models still feel this way) or some technifibre ones.
@ZeroLoveTennis Yeah, I played with the Black Ace Pro and it felt to me that way...
Well darn! and it was a recent model? The Black Ace Pro has been around for many generations. Just being sure.
@@ZeroLoveTennis The red black one
Am I understanding something wrong or what??? To me, yonex vcore shown is pic is also not parallel drilled. For eg when we see last mains, it will still stress out the frame as you explained earlier
@@jaskiratsinghpanesar1902 not every string can be parallel drilled but the frames which feature this design detail usually implement it for the majority of the frame, not all of it.
Hey i would like to use Toroline for the crosses to increase power may you advise me a line which is suitable?
@@Bonnenuitbhv depends what you're coming from. ENSO Pro might be the way to go. Wasabi X as well. ENSO can be more powerful and it might hold tension a little better. Let me know how that goes?
@ oh yes sorry and thank you very much for your advice, i forgot to add some detail that i use Restring Zero for the mains, so i am quite not sure that Wasaibi X or Enso pro is proper for the crosses.
Either could be! Sync is great as well. Sync might hold tension better than Enso or Wasabi X. It's cool to go unusually low with Zero and Sync. I'm also messing with that via thicker gauges from Zero and Enso Pro (matcha comes in 16) It all depends on the use case/racquet combo and player taste/level, etc. No wrong answers, honestly, just what works best for you. But if you plan to go low tension, I suggest Sync crosses. If you want to maximize for spin, Wasabi X might be a little better. ENSO Pro is a bit thicker and seems to be a little more powerful at equal tensions.
@ Thank you very much! a lot of useful info!.
Hey sorry for interrupt again. I am considering using Restring Zero as mains but for now i am looking for control for crosses, so Wasabi X or Enso Pro is your advice? (I use Babolat Pure Aero Rafa 290g, and i usually hit topspin for forehand and flat for backhand) Thank you in advance
vs Percept 97 ?
@kolev1529 I like the percept better. Feels more versatile and it gets a bit better spin for sure.
Do you have any recommendations for running shoes under $120
@@jasonle6417 Altra can have good stuff under that price on Amazon. If you want to get really cheap you can check out whitin or jackshibo on Amazon as well. But the cushioning will be higher quality on Altra.
@ZeroLoveTennis... if it can even be considered as a "preference"... You're isolating what in your OCD mind looks like an (aesthetic at best) issue but in essence it's only A SINGULAR COMPONENT of the design of A SYSTEM (=the frame of the racket + grommets + strings). Examining a SINGULAR component and ISOLATING its "behaviour" from the performance of THE SYSTEM leads to wrong conclusions. The "racket" is A SYSTEM (=the frame of the racket + grommets + strings) and it "plays" the way it plays NOT "despite" of "wide grommets" or "non parallel drilling", but BECAUSE of these "flaws" (simply going by what you call them). If a racket performs and plays in the way a player WANTS then said player wanting to "improve it" by caring about such OCD/aesthetic "flaws" would simply result in a racket that does NOT perform and play the same anymore. The desired end result is a racket that matches and hopefully enhances the play style of the player, NOT a racket that can hold tooth-picks on its grommets. You're CREATING the "problems" you see yourself because your perspective is flawed...
You've hit the nail on the head! There are WAAAAAAAAY more influential aspects of our racket-string setup (not to mention our technique) that are "very important" as this guy likes to repeat again and again... this guy's sport should be "I hang MY rackets on a wall and admire them for "consistency" and perfect symmetry ", NOT tennis
@@ThimiTris-b7w lol OCD at its best, or worst?!
@@dbekia that's funny because I think that's actually what you're doing. You're focusing on one thing I'm saying when what I'm pointing out actually extrapolates into an asymmetry that plagues the whole string bed. It's reductionist to say it's just about a toothpick fitting into the grommets. You should decide for yourself what you think of a string bed where the left side has a converging pattern while the right has a diverging one, on the same cross. The strings fail to be parallel and are instead converging on one side and diverging on the other. The tension distribution is different from one side to the other when it should be (or could be) symmetrical. I'm pointing out a proxy for an inconsistency.
@@ZeroLoveTennis hey thanks for your reply, I understand your ASSUMPTIONS... what I am trying to shed light into is that UNLESS and UNTIL you manage to somehow playtest the exact same racket-string setup WITH and WITHOUT parallel drilling and WITH and WITHOUT "wide" grommets, and all the permutations of these 4 "options", and furthermore after that find a quantifiable way of illustrating any performance/"playability" deficit of wide grommets and non-parallel drilling, then all you're trying to paint as A PROBLEM, is merely assumptions and "un"-hopeful thinking ;-) Have you considered that so many of the rackets that are universally loved are/have been so successful exactly BECAUSE of non-parallel drilling and/or wide grommets? What I am saying is, look at the rackets as A WHOLE, changing ONE aspect of their design/manufacturing isn't necessarily going to result in what you assume will be universally BETTER! They MIGHT play/perform DIFFERENT, but different does NOT equate to BETTER in this case, you're just compounding one assumption over another non stop
I gotcha. Well, at the end of the day, it's something that bothers me. I couldn't say I notice just by hitting if one is or isn't a certain drilling technique or not. However, I can clearly see that the racquet allows the strings to be noticeably crooked from one side to the other, which does unevenly distribute the tension because on one side the strings are closer while further on the opposite end of the same 2 cross strings. I think the implications of that should be obvious but besides that, and the admitted fact that I can't necessarily tell, it is absolutely hideous to me and if it's not a perceivable difference, then it's all the more reason (for me) to clean that up and just have parallel drilling with small grommets. I do think wider grommets can optimize for more string movement (which I'm game for) but I think head does this best, because they utilize an oval shaped grommet. This way, you get the pocketing benefits of the larger grommet holes without the a symmetry of a circular shaped one. One would assume that Head must've intentionally designed the racquet to have these benefits specifically, no? It's hard to prove anything absolutely, especially when the marketing of things is so vague or often just silent (for understandable reasons) so one is often left to infer things based on what is or can be understood otherwise.
