    Another great racquet roundup! Best racquet reviewer on RUclips at the moment. I used to be a huge Head fan but the most disappointing racquet releases for me have been the Radical Pro and Extreme Tour. They're not necessarily 'bad' but they just don't come together as playable racquets for me. The Boom Pro was better than both IMO. Could be a QC thing which is an area Head need to improve...

    Great video Luca. These tier ones are my favorites of the year . Just got a percept 97. And I am loving it. I feel however the need to add some weight In order to get a little heavier stroke. Do you think that 4 more grams on the handle and 4 more on the hoop would do the job? Maybe instead of adding weight to the handle, it would be better to put a leather grip ? I am afraid to put in too much weight, because I do a lot of doubles, and I need this maneuverability on the net. Thanks again for the detailed tier list. Merry xmas

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  4 месяца назад

      Thank you very much! I think if you want a bit more power to your shot you should add it to the hoop and I would go with a bit at 3 and 9 o'clock.

    First time out with my brandy new PA VS today - OMG - Have played a few times with the 98 too. In my opinion Carlitos would never swap the VS for the 98 - the VS is just savage in comparison. Savage. At 44lbs (Wasabbi) the racquet really comes into it's own, power and spin are ridiculous; when strung in the 50's it becomes a plank...low tension makes it a completely different beast - try it, you'll see.

  • @Karim-bd9vb

    Very good video as always !I m hesitating between ezone 98 and shift 99 300g customized. I have ohbh and use spin. First time i used shift i had good control and good power, i used another shift with different string probably less tension and i had no control at all 😔 I m a bit lost in my choice. What would you recommend between both of them please ?

    Great overview! I switched to a Blade v7 16x19 after having played with Babolat Pure Drive for years and then Babolat Pure Strike 100. Man, that racket could produce rockets but it lacked control and was tough on my arm, giving me golfers elbow. Had the same with the PD. Blade is definitely softer on the arm and more precise but I still miss the free power of the Babolats. This made me even more interested in the Aero 98, but how is that on the arm? Is a Vcore 95 maybe a better option, given my history of golfers elbow? Again, I like the Blade, it just feels a bit dull sometimes, especially compared to the lively Babolats I had been playing with for more than 14 years

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  5 месяцев назад +2

      I wouldn't call the Aero 98 arm-friendly, unfortunately. The Vcore 95 would definitely be more comfortable and still have a decent amount of power to it.

    how would you compare the tfight iso vs the ezone 98s? like you mentioned, the tfight has taken me a month to dial in. The low launch angle, head heaviness make it extremely hard to use. And as my technique's gotten better, it's become a little too powerful to control.

    feel like radical pro should have been at least A because it’s almost like any advanced player can use it, and you can make it exactly what you want with the string setup. and the weight distribution is good and plays well stock with a perfect swing weight for a lot of advanced players. if not enough control just go stiff poly at high tension

    • @SSJBen
      @SSJBen 6 месяцев назад

      You're not wrong but the MP is lighter with a slightly thicker beam and yet is more easy to customize. If I want it at 310g, I can with the MP, but I can't with the Pro unless of course Head's QC lottery steps in.

    • @Maiqel
      @Maiqel 6 месяцев назад

      I think there are two types of players when choosing a racket, the ones that focus on turn-ons and the ones that do on turn-offs. If you are the second kind and just hate that a racket has some weakness, then the radical is an almost perfect frame. If you are looking for an outstanding feature in which the racket excels (as Luca seems to be with his "X-factor") then it's not so impressive.

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  6 месяцев назад

    Very knowledgable video, interesting that you know all these frames first hand! Talking about the Ezone @ 17:15 - wow this is EXACTLY what I always thought.
    The DR98 Ezone is one of the best rackets ever made (I actually use it as my main frame still / now again, played the RF97 for 2 years! :-) ).
    So I really hope Yonex goes back from thickeining the Ezones. This is exactly why I just couldn't like the Ezone 2022 (currenty version). The Ezone must be 22mm period.
    Honestly, the thing they should do is go 100% back to the DR98 Ezone any maybe try to really improve tiny things on it (if that's even possible or necessary).
    PS. Fun question to you: If you have to chose between the VCore 95 (2023) and the Ezone DR98, which is it for you (and bonus question: why?)

    How different is the Aero 98 from the 2019 Aero 100? I own the 2019 Aero 100 and I really can’t play with it, so powerful and feel no connection to the ball, spraying balls long all the time, just way too powerful. I just bought a 2021 Prestige Pro in the hope that it would be a much less powerful one. I also prefer flexible, soft, ballpocketing rackets. Hurts to see it in B tier, since I play and enjoy it much more than the Aero. I also prefer the classical feel since I played most of my tennis back in 1998-2004 and all the new stiff powerful crisp rackets + stiff poly strings just feel like a different and worse hitting experience for me.

    The things you said about the strike vs is how I view the vcore 95. The feel was dull/muted and way too flimsy in stock form. The percept 97H has everything the vcore 95 lacks. I’ve always preferred the 18x20 blade over 16x19. The 16x19 has that identity crisis.

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver

      Very interesting that you say the 16x19 has an identity crisis. I understand the thought process but kind of disagree considering the Blade is such a modern control racket that the 16x19 doesn't feel out of place whatsoever to me.

    Anybody who has ever played with the vcore 95 2018 model will agree that it is the best 95 square inch racket in the market. Great feel and precision.
    I just wish Yonex made the Vcore 95 in a straight, thin 20 mm or less box beam all over. That would make the racket perfect, in my opinion.
    The 2018 version of the vcore 95 has a 21-21-20 mm beam profile; while close, it's not the perfect beam profile that I have mentioned above. But, still, it makes the racket so much more pleasurable and manoeuvrable to play with.

I nudged my grip ever so slightly towards full-western and the last couple of days I have seen good results with the extra topspin and better pace (probably due to confidence). That said, can you elaborate on "somewhat different swing pattern", please?

    I have tried almost all of those racket, except from the new percept and the aero 98, but based on all the rest and your comment about the difference of the vcore pro to percept i agree totally with your line up. I have some 95 and 96 and 98 i would add here. Cx200 tour a tier angell react 96 s tier, white out 18x20 b tier.
    I want to like the solinco white out 18x20, maybe it's string sensitive and I've got to try a different string setup in it. It could be a tier. I have a tennis buddy blade v8 18x20 available again to me and the white out is hoop shape string pattern wise a blatant copy of the blade v8 18x20. I cannot find any differences. But if course the solinco feels differently with the foam filling and higher stiffness. That's where my issue is with it. It feels comfortable when you connect well with the sweet spot, but it feels stuff and jarring if you don't. Could be my stiff polyester strings at 23 kg in that 18x20

    You rank the Pure Aero 98 the highest and the Pure Strike VS (2022) the lowest. Very interesting.
    But they are quite close to eachother as rackets though. Same size hoop, same stringpattern. very little RA/stiffness difference. some get the VS at 65 RA (source: RacketGuys).
    With the PA 98, and because of its aero-design, you need to use only one specific technique ( the Rafa-swing) or it will fight against you. With the PS VS you can swing how you want.
    The VS needs some few grams of lead at 12 and to be strung not higher than 48 lbs. Then its gold. Its not hard or wierd customization. The Pros customize the S**T out of their rackets. Even their PA 98's
    Other youtube Playtester has ranked PS VS higher than the Pro Staff and the V-core/ezone 98's. and another has its as his top 3 racket.
    And Troy at TW gave it high points. I would go with Troy this time.
