53lb for the racket is the perfect tension! Loving my new vcore 98

    Hi There,
Thanks for the video. I am an intermediate player who has the EZone 98 and Pro Staff 97 v13. For me, the E98 is a blast but from the beginning, I was having arm issues. I experimented with strings and for now I am looking at Hyper-G Soft, PolyTour Pro and Air as well as Tour Bite Soft in 17G in the low 50's for tension. Now my problem is that E98 might be too powerful for my swing - I'm 6'3 and 230lbs. Yesterday I played doubles matches and I had trouble reigning in the E98 so I reverted to my ProStaff which is heavier and but highly controllable. I love the maneuverability of the E98 and it is a much easier racquet to wield. Although I am mostly a flat hitter, I can get some good spin in the E98 when I need it whereas its harder with the ProStaff.
I've been now thinking of demoing the VCore 98 and possibly the Tour versions of the VCore and EZone. I prefer smaller head size because I prefer more control especially for my one handed backhand. I do not want to give up on the EZone but I am thinking the VCore might work better for me.

Hey! I love the Ezone 98 as well, it's a great racket for power but it can get a little overwhelming sometimes especially with the different string set-ups you listed in your comment. If it's giving you arm issues, I would definitely recommend trying softer strings like you said you were looking at.
The VCore line would give you the control and spin you were looking for to keep the power in check, as the softer strings with the VCore will generate a lot of power (maybe not as much as the Ezone), and will even it out with the heavy spin it gives out. I would also recommend you demo the Babolat Pure Aero, as it is one of the similar rackets to the VCore, and I heard many good things about the racket itself. The "tour" versions of both VCore and Ezone felt a little like a cheaper version of the actual Vcore and Ezone rackets, so I was not a fan. The same goes with the "team" line for the Babolat Pure Aero, just feels cheap and like a walmart version of the actual line of rackets it derives from.
But try them out and let me know which one you prefer more, I am interested in seeing the choice you make for your racket switch!

I've been trying to work on my slice the most out of the game so thank you for the tip, I gotta try it on the court next time, thank you!

So tempted to switch to Yonex VCORE 98 305g coming from Wilson Blade v8 100L which is much lighter.
What are your thoughts on the VCORE 98 vs it's 100 variant?
Appreciate the insights from your video, by the way. Keep it up!

I was never able to get the chance to test out the Wilson Blade line as it was always being rented out by someone everytime I tried. I wish I could explain the comparisons using examples of your racket but I sadly don’t have experience with the Blade’s.
Compared to the VCORE 100, I feel like the stability is a lot more noticeable as I get a bit more control with the slightly smaller head size. A plus from the 100 is that a lot more power was generated with my serve and groundstrokes as a bigger head size = increased power. It does lack the control I get with the 98 since the balls would tend to go out a lot more frequently with the 100. Spin on both are impeccable, very little difference on the two rackets with the crazy amount of spin.
What I’ve heard about Wilson’s Blade line is that it does focus solely on power and control, and if you’re used to that with your 100L then the 100 might be a better suit for you. I personally came from a Babolat Boost Drive that was 265g or something, so the difference was very noticeable as my racket was just of a bit lower quality than the VCORE’s. Definately test out each headsize when you have time to make sure though, the VCORE line is amazing and I’m sure you’ll love it. I would reccomend the Ezone line as well if you’re coming from the Blade, try to test the Ezone 100 I absolutely loved it.
Thank you for the kind words by the way, commentary’s are the worst for me so I’m glad I got my point across lol.
