You know what’s crazy? I saw a video back in like 2010 (handheld camera of course like they always were back then) of someone figuring out a glitch to get onto the table in the spawn of five and that caused the zombies to constantly bleed out, so he got to round 100 overnight by leaving the game on afk on the table. This coding of zombies bleeding out when they don’t move or hit you within certain amounts of time has been known forever, but we just never put the pieces together like this to make a whole horde respawn at once behind a barrier and then bleed out. Crazy

there isn't another gaming experience like it. no other game or game mode combines endurance, skill and game-management in the same way, that's what makes it beautiful

A few corrections to the commentary: -Zi0 let me know that he did not actually have anything to do with the discovery of how the bleedout mechanic worked in the code as I mentioned at 10:18, he only explained it to other players in simpler terms -I mentioned at 19:51 that Prompt had only been in game for 4 days when he achieved 100, he had actually been in it for 5 (he got round 100 at the end of the 5th day)
it's interesting to see what this map has come to.. so many memories playing this when i was younger. I only hope 100 can be achieved in a more fun way for other players who don't find this strat fun.
I find it funny that George Romero was intended to be an interesting boss for this map but inadvertently because the ultimate boss for the high round record community. The whole reason the Sacvenger isn't an infinite damage wonder weapon is because it had to be balanced around George as a boss enemy. Treyarch probably didn't even factor the zombies scaling in HP when they designed it
it always amazes me how such a passionate community can found things that are so absurd like that. They push the game to it's limits and is always mind blowing to watch and understand how they got to it. What a great video and great accomplishment by the zombies community

the despawn method talked about around 7 mins in was something i used to do with friends on Five back in like 2011 with the update removed from the game where you could get on the table in the middle of the spawn room. my friends and i would leave our xbox turned on for days while rounds SLOWLY advanced and we would get to round like 60 (which was like 3x our highest round) - never thought id see that strat actually be useful but i guess when rounds are so long in late game, its likely faster than actually killing them haha
It was the first map where the zombies’ spawning system was changed up. They used to spawn in and stay in the map and a zombie would respawn if it died by bleeding out. However after this, you can have zombies directly behind you but if you break line of sight they can despawn and respawn somewhere close by. They will also despawn if you get so far away from them. It made training and babysitting a crawler a lot more frustrating. This was something that made this map unnecessarily difficult
I somehow knew this already from watching an ancient, fast forwarded clip of the spawn room table on Five. It was a time lapse of like 10 minutes and several zombies just died/despawned.
I find it really cool how modded camos/visuals are allowed for zombies runs, some other games I’ve seen ban those for the dumbest reason “If tHeRe’S mOdDeD ViSuAlS tHeN tHeRe’S liKeLy tO bE mOdDeD sTaTs/GaMePlAy”
This is why speedrunning/high scores in video games are my personal favorite aspect of them. Anything that is possible seems to eventually happen. I never would have expected to see round 100 on COTD. This reminds me of a GH2 song that was considered impossible to FC (hit 100% of notes without breaking combo) for the longest time. In GH2, there is a limit to how fast you can strum, and there's a section in the song "Trogdor" that has a strum speed faster than the strum limit, so it was considered impossible (at least on NTSC, PAL has a higher limit so it was FCable). Then a couple years ago, someone figured out how to break the strum limit, and after almost two decades of Trogdor being the only song not FC'ed in the entire GH series, it was FC'ed. There are so many more examples of this, It's really incredible how people are able to bring games to their absolute limit, even if they're decades old. Anyways, congrats to Prompt, this is the greatest achievement in Zombies history imo.
As a casual Cod zombies player: Every piece of info in this video is fucking crazy. 25 hours just to set up for an actual strat for a record is astonishing. Hardcore zombie players are incredible

That's so unbelievably hilarious, I did this window tactic for fun to troll people on Ascension back when the game first came out. Who could have known that's the legit strategy found 13 years later! XD
I did it too, but I also turned the 3 window zombies into crawlers because I learned that crawlers can't hit you through the window, so a well placed grenade will allow you to just stand there with one thumb on X/■ and just sit on your phone

I mostly just knew the knowledge because of crawlers dying and ending the round, but I always figured regular unharmed zombies would just respawn

The crawlers at my window never died, and the crawlers stayed alive for at least 10 or 20 minutes at the end of rounds without bleeding out, even running solo with it on the otherside of the map. Maybe because he was still aggro'd and aggro'd zombies don't bleed out, but the end of round crawlers and Five Table Glitch zombies are still aggro'd on you, so I'm not sure how they still bleedout

On the note, have you considered doing a similar style of video for world record holders of Easter eggs? The strategies people found for those can be just as insane as the one's in world record high rounds.

That's a good question, honestly I would say at this point the 3 Holy Grail games in terms of high rounds would be 255+ on BO1 (BO1 doesn't have a round cap like BO2 & 3 but it'd probably only be possible on Der Riese or Moon), 255 on BO3 Shangri-La (the only remaining BO3 map that doesn't have a 255) and 100 on Nuketown (there was one a few years ago but it was using the Fast Ray exploit which isn't considered legit anymore). If anyone's reading this reply and has more to add comment it!
Shang 200 without cancelling spawns, Moon coop 200, Tranzit 200/255 if it's possible to get past the error somehow (there would be plenty of time for 255 with the fastest strat). Also interesting would be ZNS first room 100 or BO3 verruckt no power 100/200 since there should technically be time for that, verruckt no power 200 would be the craziest game ever played though.
@@redteam6631 170+ is most likely not possible. The error is unavoidable and you'd have to save many hours over the 164 to get it. 162+ every round is a frozen round btw.
I made a post similar to this on the cod zombies reddit. It was about BO2 since there are no double pap elementals, and some maps dont have infinite damage wonder weapons this is a work around that is safe from buildable errors and faster than killing with just the raygun/mk2: *in BO2 if you damage a zombie even in the slightest then run away not that far then they are killed from the map completely and another zombie takes their place counting down the zombies left.* I couldn't get them to respawn on Town bc it's so small but Nuketown was big enough for this to work. Saving time from box hits for rayguns, the time it takes to kill a horde with those guns, and possible errors with the mystery box are completely gone. I'm not good enough nor have the patience to try this at any round higher than 40 but I would love for my idea to get some attention by a highrounder on Nuketown and maybe Die Rise too.

Yep, it's the same mechanic of the zombies bleeding out because they can't target you! Although the difference in this case is of course you're not invincible
What an insane discovery, this is why I love high rounding so much. I’m excited for the virtual gold rush this is going to trigger for the COTD solo WR, I’m eager to see how far people can push this!
I accidentally figured out that you could progress rounds if zombies died from being in a window to long on five when I jumped over the invisible barrier (which makes the zombies stop moving) when you don’t open the door that let you go to the bottom part of 2nd floor where jugg is. I guess it never really came to mind that it would actually be useful on a map that didn’t have something that does infinite damage
6:53 My first thought was "Why not just use the flinger? We already know it causes zombies to respawn." Then the next few minutes explaining the despawn mechanic and ultimately using the flinger feels like it made it more complicated than it needed to be. Like, would it not be possible to just bring the horde over the flinger and rush to your chosen window once you land without having to manipulate them so much by looking at them?
If you time it right and make it to the window in under 10 seconds that's true, you wouldn't have to look at them, since the despawn check only runs every 10 seconds
I actually used to use this strategy for early rounds back in the day. Crazy to see this used for getting round 100 on this map, which I alsways believed could be possible.
its like the presidential map, whatever its called, where you knife out 3 spots of a glass winder, rebuild it, and use the planks to jump up and onto the center tables, then you just afk and wake up the next day on round 100+ lmao

theres something phenomenally novel about the secret to beating zombies being building the barriers the entire time

That's a good question, honestly I would say at this point the 3 Holy Grail games in terms of high rounds would be 255+ on BO1 (BO1 doesn't have a round cap like BO2 & 3 but it'd probably only be possible on Der Riese or Moon), 255 on BO3 Shangri-La (the only remaining BO3 map that doesn't have a 255) and 100 on Nuketown (there was one a few years ago but it was using the Fast Ray exploit which isn't considered legit anymore). If anyone's reading this reply and has more to add comment it!
Shang 200 without cancelling spawns, Moon coop 200, Tranzit 200/255 if it's possible to get past the error somehow (there would be plenty of time for 255 with the fastest strat). Also interesting would be ZNS first room 100 or BO3 verruckt no power 100/200 since there should technically be time for that, verruckt no power 200 would be the craziest game ever played though.
I wanted to say bo2 origins, but it's hard stuck at the 160s, and there's no possible break through to date, right?
@@redteam6631 170+ is most likely not possible. The error is unavoidable and you'd have to save many hours over the 164 to get it. 162+ every round is a frozen round btw.

I always loved the wonder weapons on this map.
I made a post similar to this on the cod zombies reddit. It was about BO2 since there are no double pap elementals, and some maps dont have infinite damage wonder weapons this is a work around that is safe from buildable errors and faster than killing with just the raygun/mk2: *in BO2 if you damage a zombie even in the slightest then run away not that far then they are killed from the map completely and another zombie takes their place counting down the zombies left.* I couldn't get them to respawn on Town bc it's so small but Nuketown was big enough for this to work. Saving time from box hits for rayguns, the time it takes to kill a horde with those guns, and possible errors with the mystery box are completely gone. I'm not good enough nor have the patience to try this at any round higher than 40 but I would love for my idea to get some attention by a highrounder on Nuketown and maybe Die Rise too.
On Black Ops 2 I believe unfortunately this only works with the last zombies of the round, otherwise they will just respawn

Is this the same idea from those videos back in the day of people using the table glitch on Five? The zombies would just die out after running into the table long enough and the rounds would pass.
Yep, it's the same mechanic of the zombies bleeding out because they can't target you! Although the difference in this case is of course you're not invincible

I accidentally figured out that you could progress rounds if zombies died from being in a window to long on five when I jumped over the invisible barrier (which makes the zombies stop moving) when you don’t open the door that let you go to the bottom part of 2nd floor where jugg is. I guess it never really came to mind that it would actually be useful on a map that didn’t have something that does infinite damage

6:53 My first thought was "Why not just use the flinger? We already know it causes zombies to respawn." Then the next few minutes explaining the despawn mechanic and ultimately using the flinger feels like it made it more complicated than it needed to be. Like, would it not be possible to just bring the horde over the flinger and rush to your chosen window once you land without having to manipulate them so much by looking at them?
If you time it right and make it to the window in under 10 seconds that's true, you wouldn't have to look at them, since the despawn check only runs every 10 seconds

I actually used to use this strategy for early rounds back in the day. Crazy to see this used for getting round 100 on this map, which I alsways believed could be possible.
I remember coming across the bleedout mechanic a long time ago in Nacht when using the barrier glitches, never realized it could be used this way
its like the presidential map, whatever its called, where you knife out 3 spots of a glass winder, rebuild it, and use the planks to jump up and onto the center tables, then you just afk and wake up the next day on round 100+ lmao
