I am a mother of 4, I run an online boutique called Tulle Time. I make tutu's, embroider, sew, make hair bows and other crafts. Me and my daughter Sterling love to daily vlog. Most of my vlogs are of my daily life running a business and taking care of my family.

Thank you for the new suggestion today I had a heck of a problem with two tutus that I was making... It seems like the tulle is so thin but I never have problems with the black color tulle...I have one on the table half done and I'm planning on doing it this way. I hope your Easter went well I did see some of your videos we don't have a very big family just three of us so we had a barbecue here at home talk to you later.

Thank you! My channel was started to share my clothing obsession for my daughter Sterling. "Sterling's Style" but turned into a vlogging channel where I share my life running an online embroidery business. LOL!
Good Morning... I am so in love with your blogs, you got me wanting to start my own. But i have another question. So, i did a test tutu last night and it turned out ok, but it looks like its not full enough. I did my the way where we sew the pieces together then sew the channel last. Any suggestions on how i can make it so it looks more fuller and not so see through? I am trying to make it for an 8 year old. And just so you know i really appreciate you answering my questions and being so helpful. Thank you.

I love watching your videos. Your tutus are adorable. I love the bow that you made for the tutu, making bows is just confusing for me. The tying of the ribbon, but it looked really easy with the Alligator clip that you used. Where could I find one?

Another question. With the tutu for the 5 year old you are made with the 3 layer ribbon, did you cut it how you did the other tutus with only the two layer ribbons for the 18 month old? or would i just make sure everything is even then from there sew my ribbons on the one end first, then do my channel, then do my last ribbon? I don't see that you cut the tulle for the 5 year olds 3 layer tutu. It says you used 10yrs, but you don't say if you cut any of it in half, if you folded any of it, or if you just left it at 10 yards and put your ribbon on from there. Maybe that is where i went wrong with my test tutu i did last night. Mine just really don't seem full enough.
I cut all the tulle the same, now I make all my tutu's with double layers I do not separate the two layers, so I used 10 yards of double layers. (20 yards total, I just kept my two 10yd layers together.) I just used two ribbons on the top layer giving the appearance of 3 layers.

+Teresa Elgood Hi, I am not sure what waist to knee would be. I do have measurements in this video description. This is what I make them, it is not waist to knee since that would make them too long in my opinion, since is it all about preference, but if you wanted them longer you can add a few inches to each measurement. I'm trying to find out well first off I love you Channel and I'm trying to find out how much do you supposed to have I'm trying to make one for a six-year-old I wanted about 10 or 11 inches long and her waist is 21 could you please help me out how do I get that measurement for the tutu yards of it
It all depends on preference. How full you like it to be. I usually take the waist measurement and cut it in half. This is how many yards of tulle if you are a using double layer of tulle.. if not I would add about 3 more yards. width I would cut at 20-22" if you want it to be 10-11" long.
when u use the ribbon, do it have to be satin or the other ribbon.
+vondella crawford You can use any type of ribbon. I have used both Satin and Grosgrain. I have even used wired ribbon and pulled the wires out. Most of the polka dot ribbon I use is Grosgrain. :)

I usually glue the ribbons together. I believe I showed in in a couple vlogs.

do you have any tips for sewing across tulle? when I go to sew the channel to put elastic in, it never stays and messes up. help please?
Have you tried sewing the channel first and then putting the ribbons. That usually helps.
Sterlings Style I just have difficulty with the tulle even being sewn, if that makes sense. Like the stitches don't stay in and it bunches. do I need to adjust tension or use a specific kind of stitch? thank you!
Try adjusting the tension. I just use a straight stitch.

+Mikki Goldson Thank you! I try to make sure mine are full so I usually use around 13 yards of double layers. You could probably get by with 12 depending on how full you want it if you are doing the double layer of tulle. Single layer you would need 18 yards.
Thank you. Where can I get the ribbon with that much yardage on one role? I can only find it with 3 or 4 yrds.

That is sad! Do you still order ribbon from gift international? Their pricing is AMAZING but I’m scared it is too good to be true.
@@alecialovely Their prices are great... but shipping is where it sucks! They charge a handling fee of $3.50 on every order, plus take forever to ship!! BBcrafts.com is better. Their prices seem higher, but in the end, their shipping is flat rate ....so it really does work out to better prices, plus they ship a whole heck of a lot faster!!

My daughter will be 7 at the end of next month and wants me to make a ribbon tutu (I’ve never used ribbon on tutus). Your tutorials have saved me many headaches 💆🏾♀️😊
