I'm trying to make this but is having problems setting my machine to the correct tension. Either the stitches are too tight or too loose. I'm using singer model 3221.

perhaps already answered and i don't see it but do you use Straight or zig zag stitches? My machine is different and doesn't have the same stitch options. It's hard to tell if your needle is moving side to side :)

Hi ☺️ when you finish tuning the elastic through and you sew the elastic, do you have to sew the tulle and ribbon on the bottom together to close the circle or do you only have to sew the elastic together to close the circle. I hope my quest makes sense. 😬😫 I’m trying to make my daughter a birthday tutu. Your videos have been really helpful.
Yes you can sew the ribbon and tulle closed too.

Wow, just found ur tutorials and they are amazing. A quick question is the tulle off the bolt the same as the stuff you get on the roll. I'm in the uk and can find black and white tulle on the bolt but all other colours are thicker 'ballet net' they call it! Can I use this?

Sheryl, when you put on the first layer of ribbon do you put on the plain ribbon or a printed ribbon that I want on top? Every time I do this my plain ribbon layer comes out on the top side even though I am following what you are doing. Any idea of what I am doing wrong?
Forgot to ask, but did you say you needed to use a glue gun? Did I miss where you used it?
the glue gun might be used for those people who don't want to sew the bow on they can glue it on. But she probably didn't mention it, but i think that is what it is for.

I need to make a couple of tutu for teenage girls. I am trying to figure out how long to cut the tulle so it will be long enough in proportion to their size but it seems that if you cut the tulle too long it will droop and not stand out and be full. What is your professional best guess on this. I need an answer soon. These are for homecoming and it is coming up in less than two weeks.

I also got 6 yards to make a 12 month tutu. I'm really confused about the cutting. It makes the 2 pieces to make 12 yards total. I get that. I rolled it up and cut it down for the actual length of the tutu (14 inches i believe is what i did) But what do I do with the 2 pieces once I separate them? Also mine look wayyyy longer than yours, even at 6 yards. like quadruple the length.

So, I got the casing to sew, finally, it was a tension problem. I wanted to double the tulle so it would not be see thru, that is a nightmare keeping together to sew casing. Have you ever done this?

Hi sheryl, so is thia a total of 12yd of tulle or less? I made a tutu following your tulle guide by size and it seems way more fluffy then some of your tutus you have made. This minnie one looks a little more loose and I like the look of it.

She got six yards but once cut it splits into two making it 12 yards which is the amount of tulle needed for 0-12 months I believe.
I’m confused. So you purchased 6 yards which is end up being 2-6 yard sheets. Then you cut the length you want the tutu and sew the two 6 yard prices together????
