Here is my highly subjective ranking of each monster I fought in Monster Hunter 3U. These are entirely based on my initial playthrough of the game.

Seeing hate for Gigginox makes me sad. It's a legitimately better in all aspects Khezu and I'd love to see it in a newer game.
His armor set is so good, I wish it would come back!

I agree as well, i mean Gigginox is my 1# favorite monster over since I started my hunting journey in 3U.

I'm surprised that gigginox isn't on sunbreak. She went with the theme so well.
My guess is because khezu is basically a meme/mascot at this point
Gigginox isn't a "she". It isn't like a Ludroth, where all males are Royals and all females are small. Gigginox is ermaphrodite, which means that one individual can reproduce without a partner, therefore it's genderless.
I have beat Abyssal Lagi solo.
Not now though. My level of rust is now a duramboros that roams the desert.
I was glad to see you put both Gobul and Qurupeco in A tier. Usually people are hating on them, because Gobul has underwater combat and, well, not many players liked them back in the day (I love it though, even if it's a bit janky sometimes), and Qurupeco is an annoying little sh- that always calls on every monster in his area to gang up on you before leaving you to them. But that's why I love them, Gobul greatly shows the potential of underwater combat, and as for Quru, I love how he looks and I love the idea behind his moves. Would love to see Quru back. Even Crimson, he might call a Deviljho on your ass, but that's why I would have put him higher than you. I like the idea of this not-that-frightening monster summoning a spawn of hell.
Then, though I like Gigginox, I understand why you put it in the trash bin. I like him for being another take on the Khezu idea, his disgusting egg sack is an interesting mechanic IMO, and he's way faster than Khezu, adding some challenge to it. But, he's basically a poison Khezu on crack, and his fight is one of the worst in the franchise because of what it is.
Finally, it's always nice to see Nibbelsnarf getting some love.
MH Tri was my first MH game when I was maybe....11 or 12, and Gobul actually TERRIFIED me when I first played hahahaha. How he would hide himself in the muck at the bottom of the water and then just jump out at you; yeah young me was not a fan.
I would loooove if Qurepeco made a return, such an goofy and fun monster. I miss Gigginox too, he's a much more difficult and unique fight compared to Khezu

I played switch axe, dual blades, hammer and gunlance in 3U and I gotta say the weapon with a shield was not my favorite matchup against lucent.
narga is pretty good at hitting you from the side/behind,.
it still worked better than my switch axe though.
imo the way to do it is going evasion+2, picking a fast weapon and just don't get hit. no poison immunity needed.

Also, I like Gigginox, definitely MUCH better than freakin' Khezu that keeps coming back for some reason.
Khezu is a fan favorite in Japan because people find him cute... do what you will with that information.

The only monsters I haven't been able to solo in 3U are Abyssal Lagi and Hallowed Jhen Mohran.
But man, so many fun and engaging hunts otherwisd
Interesting. I took Lance into the Abyssal Lagi hunt and had no problems at all. Absolutely helps to have the infinite air skill, though.
@@Stratelier yeah, lance and gunlace are pretty good counters against all the lagiacrus variants and the fact that both weapons alrready translate well in to underwater combat is the cherry on top

I like Agnaktor, but there is one move in his move set that compelety ruins him as a Monster for me. And that move is when he burrows. He burrows frequently, the burrowing goes on for too long, and there is nothing you can do but just wait it out. Thus causing, the hunts to drag on longer than they need be.
Just sonic bomb him into oblivion. At least it works with glacial, if I remember correctly
@@notme8152 Like Diablos, I don't think sonic bombs will do anything to Agnaktors when they are enraged. And they burrow a lot more when they are enraged.
Lucent narga and abyssal lagi might be very hard to hunt but they offer some of the best weapons and armor sets in 3U
Ayyy, another agnaktor and Nibelsnarf fan. I really want those 2 back along with Duramboros
I love how I as expefienced player see every single Cart here and think "This could have easily been avoided"
Abyssal Lagiacrus and Event Stygian Zinogre were probably the only two monsters that my group of hunting friends could not beat over 10 years ago when we all played 3U from start to finish. The Alatreon was always like a multi-elemental Kushala Daora to us lol.

For every time you had trouble bouncing from a monster you could have switched to sword mode for it has minds eye

Abyssal is a really fun hunt. Probably the best Lagi there is. Shame its armor is just bad skill wise

I have a love-hate relationship with Agnaktor. He looks awesome but my god! Can he stop burrowing and the bouncing!!! Stoooooop

As a Lance main in MH3U, Abyssal Lagi felt a lot like a normal underwater Lagi just bigger.
Glacial Agnaktor has a really good Lance armor set, btw.

Solid overall, the only ones I heavily disagree with are Nargas, metal Raths and Ice Agnaktor's placement.
To me all Nargas are at least A, metal Raths are garbage and Ice Agnaktor is so much worse than regular.

Nibble doesn't get ENOUGH hate. Both him and Cephedrome are the only two times I've actively HATED fighting a monster
I love the bombs, sonic mechanics and fishing so so much. Turned him into a chore into one of my favourite mons in 3U tbh! Each to their own

@@zanbamon4162 there really isn’t a best MH. To think that each new MH game just replaces the old is disingenuous and shows you don’t understand the difference in game design each time
@@enemystand2981 I understand that and no I don't think each new MH game replaces the old, for example Rise was a step down compared to World in many ways beyond the graphics.
IMO World was just the one that improved and nailed the most compared to previous MHs, the only game I consider on par with it is MH4U.
I'm just really tired on MH boomers shitting on people who started with World or Rise while pretending older MH titles were flawless, MH1 was my first game then went to MHDos, MHFU, MHP3rd and MH4U.
Weapon design and difficulty curve are the only aspects that were better in the older games.
