at the tip and baro head can be broken again ugh world baro unbreakable head and bland weapon designs for every monster exept some with 1 or 2 unique designs
I like fighting Marshmallow lol. I would definitely say my opinion of the fight changes depending on what weapon I'm using though, but I guess that's kinda like that for any monster. I just think it's funny because I used to use only IG before Rise so I didn't even look at it this way before
The one thing I do like is how they iterated upon the "flagship intervention" scene trope they've been trying to execute with Magnamalo. Magnamalo coming in like a shounen hero late to the party to participate in defeating the All-mother beats out how World/Iceborne had Nergigante either only making a mess in a cutscene or appearing on Zorah Magdaros's back just to get shoo'd away or ignored.
An issue that I talked with a hunter friend just some days ago: most of the new monsters are low to mid tier when it comes to difficulty and usage in "endgame", most monsters that are farmed or hunted the most end up being returning monsters or the elder dragons, I LOVE Bishaten and Tetranadon SO SO MUCH, but their hunts end so quick compared to later monsters, they barely put up a fight, and their equipment is barely desirable gameplay wise [Tetranadon may have more for gunners] New monsters have such interesting designs and ecology, but they're not well used and relegated to the start to midway of the gameplay experience, and in the end of the game there's no point to fight unless you really enjoy them as monsters.
Biggest issue I see is knocking monsters for not being threatening enough. But then monsters that are threatening get knocked for not being good at fighting them.
@@HeyJayOfficial There are a few monsters with parts that can be broken twice, but outside of diablos' horns they tend to not be telegraphed very well. You have narga's tail, glavenus' tails (with added special condition) and heads, and nerscylla's spikes as examples.
In my entire time playing Rise, I have never seen a Barroth Crown come off. I wonder if that is still a thing or did they just make him too easy so I kill him straight away
Don't sell yourself short on your skill! you cleared everything in Iceborne solo, that's not an easy feat! We can definitely see how much you've grown since you started playing
Though I disagree, I can certainly respect your opinion on the Magnamalo design and fight. I do think it's one of those fights you'd like a lot more once you get better at it. Reminded me of how you disliked teostra at first.
Cool tier list Disagree on a lot of monsters but hey i'm not mad by opinion on a taste of a hunter I'm still salty over bishaten, aknosom, ibushi and somnacanth beign at the bottom of the list but that's okay
When you do replay the game on PC, definitely do the Ibushi event quest! I wasnt a fan of him either but after that fight he's shot up to one of my probably top 10 monsters. Getting to actually slay him in a normal quest is so much better.
Sadly the fight still leaves alot to be desired... It's very clear that Ibushi was never designed to be fought on an arena so his move set is very limited and not very impressive ._.
So that's why it seems harder to cut Narga's tail off compared to iceborne. Wonder if they increase the threshold, or if just highrank rise weapons don't have as much part break strength (tho also haven't been able to use partbreaker skill as much compared to iceborne so that too)
I feel like your opinion on lbushi would change if you fought him in one of the new event quests where he’s not a part of the rampage and you fight him 1 on 1 in the Narwa arena. Completely different fight and made me like him much more
Ooooofffff I hear the screams of so many Somnacanth Fans, I love it’s moves and it’s design/ however because it’s so easy to flinch and knock over and a lot of it’s moves leave it open to heavy damage, you rarely see it’s entire move set within one fight/ Hope they add a harder variant in Sunbreak

Glad to see you're impression of Teostra improved significantly with Rise. He will always be that worthy rival that I want to fight in every monster hunter game.
My only problem with the Magnamalo fight is that I want to just keep going, it dies too quick, I want a double hp Magnamalo event so I can keep fighting it for longer!
It's sad how little impact a big portion of Rise's roster leaves cause the game goes by really fast and gives very little reason to hunt them more than once... Seeing how this list is mostly judged by how their fights are rather than their actual designs I'm not too surprised to see Ibushi all the way in bottom, they really did him dirty.
I feel like some of this is because people optomize the hell out of the experience with their best armor sets to kill things as fast possible too. Rise G-Rank has big shoes to fill, and I hope all the monsters get a lot faster and a revamped moveset. Maybe more agression too? Feels like they're going with that direction in Sunbreak.

i think i agree with most of your list alot of the new monsters were breifly seen in the low rank story and just got pummeled by every one so you dont really get to enjoy them, the only swap i would make is amuldron and tigrex but that is a bias as i love tigrex and really dislike fighting amuldron (although i can apretiate its design)
There are a few monsters you put at the bottom tier that I would have ranked higher, but that's probably because you ranked your enjoyment of the fight rather than the idea behind the monster, their design... And other factors that would have prevailed if I did a ranking of every monster in Rise. But, you put my boy Valstrax at the top, so even if I disagree with some choices, everything is forgiven.
Man, I COMPLETELY disagree with just about every monster you hate. Aknosom is amazing, the raptors are a fixture of the series, and Great Wroggie is my absolute favorite. And Great Izuchi was incredibly unique Hunting in a pack. Baggi? OK sure. Somnacanth and Bishaten aren't my faves but I still like both of them.
I always found Valstrax to be like some kind of Yu-Gi-Oh monster, not really animalistic enough to be in a Monster Hunter. Yet, I can't deny how god damn cool he is.

Unfortunately Jay, Great Wroggi is the best monster because he gives the cowboy armor
i think i agree with most of your list alot of the new monsters were breifly seen in the low rank story and just got pummeled by every one so you dont really get to enjoy them, the only swap i would make is amuldron and tigrex but that is a bias as i love tigrex and really dislike fighting amuldron (although i can apretiate its design)
Any small monsters that stand on two legs are freaking annoying IMO.... So difficult to chase and fight them
There are a few monsters you put at the bottom tier that I would have ranked higher, but that's probably because you ranked your enjoyment of the fight rather than the idea behind the monster, their design... And other factors that would have prevailed if I did a ranking of every monster in Rise. But, you put my boy Valstrax at the top, so even if I disagree with some choices, everything is forgiven.
How dare you do my man Bishaten that way!
You should try and take on the new Apex events. They are pretty tough
So I guess Apex Mizutsune is your favorite monster in the game.
Feck yeah. Valstrax is at the top.
Ibushi is the best, vanilla Narwa is the worst.
I love aknosom!
"It's kind of sad what they did to rajang in this game". I felt this so deeply
10:24 you can lol
wind serpent ibushi id literally perfect, this is the most incorrect statement ever made
F for jaggi

Man, I COMPLETELY disagree with just about every monster you hate. Aknosom is amazing, the raptors are a fixture of the series, and Great Wroggie is my absolute favorite. And Great Izuchi was incredibly unique Hunting in a pack. Baggi? OK sure. Somnacanth and Bishaten aren't my faves but I still like both of them.
I always found Valstrax to be like some kind of Yu-Gi-Oh monster, not really animalistic enough to be in a Monster Hunter. Yet, I can't deny how god damn cool he is.
It definitely pushes the boundaries of what a monster can be in This franchise
Mr Hey Jay this will not stand! Somnacanth! Not just below Jyuratodus, but at the bottom!?!
Just spit in drink why don't you! And you say " stay classy"?
Harumph i say! (jk)
