Man i remember watching you when you were still acituanbus, this is the first video ive been recommended of yours in a long time, im happy your channel is doing great!
First time watching one of your videos and I am pleasantly surprised with how logical, dare I say DEEP, your interpretations of the trailer and the included document are. I think you're spot on with everything as far as we know thus far. The original game dealt with modifying your body to handle kharaa virus, so it stands to reason that this game would take that further and use resources from around the world to modify your body to handle environmental dangers, which could also be used to restrict and stage progression through the game step-by-step. Regarding that last question where people will "uncover the secrets at the heart of the planet," it seems to me that it is just generally touching upon the normal game mechanics of uncovering information bit by bit that helps with further understanding more of the world they are surviving on, the same way we did in Subnautica 1. Also I am super interested in the new base building mechanics, as that was what I always loved of the first game, seeing what was possible and where people would go with their base building. The document for this game however makes it sound like it can either be finely adjusted in the building, ie. wall by wall customizations. *OR* the way it reads, and knowing how early access subnautica devs think, perhaps "adaptability" is less about how it is MADE, and more about how it is USED! MEANING- WHAT IF they included a fully customizable MOBILE BASE! The Cyclops in the original allowed us to place grow beds and lockers, what if we can take that WAYYY further?? Such as building a floating base on top of the water that can be moved to any new area being explored, including a dock for the new "Tadpole" submersible? I only say a floating base atop the water because speaking as someone with development experience that would be the easiest first step as there are practically no obstructions above water, at least in the original. It would be seriously nuts if they offered a customizable mobile submersible base, as I could see people going crazy with it and it getting buggy and stuck on terrain. Either way, having a solution for the problem of building a stationary base, which becomes an anchor to that biome, and restricts exploration, and growth into new areas, would be a major upgrade in quality of life.
How come no one is talking about the ruined building in the back at 0:58 Like I know we had abandoned bases and like ship wreck in the first two games, but this building look ANCIENT, like a lost civilisation ancient…maybe like Atlantis. 🤩 Also I’m so happy we’re getting multiplayer!!! 🤩🥳
I think it's going to be called a Whisper Leviathan, as it clearly likes to hang out in the dark where nothing can see it, I thought of whisper because you can't really hear it, and you have such a short notice after you see it, before your dead.
I think Squiddy might simply be called "Architect Leviathan." It looks like it might be what the Precursors modeled the warpers after. It could also be called some combination of Kharaa and Kraken, though I think anything related to Kraken might be a bit cheesy. Also related, "Precursor Leviathan" could be appropriate. As it interacts with the player, I think it's likely to be stationary because anything with that much range and accuracy would be a bit... much. Or maybe it just moves a bit slower than the Seadragons. There are some really interesting hypotheses in this comment section, and I look forward to seeing if any are close or right! Edit 1: I also think the underwater architecture in the background might be a hint to some kind of Architect-related lore involving Squiddy directly below. While it's unlikely the Architects actually built those structures due to their primitive appearance, it's a pretty good conceptual hint. On the other hand, there isn't really another race capable of building such structures outside Precursors and humanity, so I guess we'll just have to wait and find out. Edit 2: Just noticed Squiddy's electric green-yellow eyes in the cover art at 7:46. If that's not a sign of involvement with the Architects, I don't know what is.
@@LocalCANFORpsyop I was thinking earlier about how names for it above one or two words would be really interesting. Elder Leviathan would also be cool considering the history and seniority of these alien races.
i want those camouflaging crabs to be the new area unlocks, like if i come in with a specific tool, one of them wakes up and reveals a cave entrance to a new biome
I think the new leviathan at the end of the trailer, is the original creatures the warpers were based on. The warpers were bioengineered to defend the planet, and that leviathan shares many key features we see on the warpers. Particularly the face and claws. I could just be gaslighting myself, but my specialty is pattern recognition, and spoiling the plot before its revealed 💀
I completely agree with the entire they've overhauled the building system so that it isn't showing us a bit, but I also think this applies to another area, Vehicles. Vehicles, in my opinion, are going to be a huge part of the game now that its multiplayer, for example, I generally believe there is going to be a new garage room as those tadpoles 100% dock to something (and also imagine you and your buddies all get tadpoles so you can travel to get resources separately you need 4 moonpools for your base) but also bare with me on this I generally believe we might see the Atlas. They have included so many heavily requested features from the community from what we see so far so it's not a far stretch that a fan-favourite concept could make it into the game especially when you consider that a bigger ship that could not only support multiple people but likely dock more than one ship (if you go take a look at the old art those round domes look suspiciously like docked ships). There is also a chance I'm just grasping at straws here, but I just think it would be sick to have a Cyclops Esc ship that requires multiple people to operate. It would be so much fun.
Well, why should Subnautica 2 disappoint? The devs have proven that they listen to us as players and remain true to their concept. At least for me, the trip to 'Below Zero' clearly showed that. I am really looking forward to this game and will definitely preorder it as soon as it becomes available. 😊 Thank you for all the information you could share.
@@lakehope8464 It's the story and buggy gameplay mostly. It just....doesn't feel nearly as strong as the first you know? And leviathans in Below Zero are more annoyances than scary beasts bigger than you can really comprehend. The shrimp thing is so constant that I forgot it was even a leviathan. Then, there's the lack of directional noise, making everything sound like it's right next to you. No distant roars of something obscured in the depths. You understand a little now? Not trying to be rude at all, just trying to explain.
@@foxpatternedferret476 I mean, yeah, Ape, on the other hand, wasn't supposed to be a big game, just an expansion. Anyway, looking objectively, this game also has its advantages. And since the map is smaller, the leviathans are also smaller. Anyway, are there some leviathans here, or just the one that protects the crystals
I realized that the “Low Oxygen” light on the helmet of the diver went away when the Tadpole was close to the diver. I’d like to hear your thoughts about that. Maybe it refills oxygen when you’re close to it. I hope it does tho 😅
I'm pretty sure the head of "The Kraken" is based a "Siphonophore" squid or the weird black squid; both have bioluminescence and I think that's going to be terrifying to see in the dark. I really hope they put more critters and squid-like creatures into the game. I really thought the other games were too "big fish" centered so it's nice to see some more diversity and more terrifying creatures
Some advice for the devs- don't give us teleportation like below zero, but give us more storage on larger subs. The storage size compared to the cyclops did not add up, still took 5-10 trips to transport stuff, cut it down to 2-3 on the biggest vehicle
People seem to be missing the submerged ruined structures visible in the background when the main-character backs away from the coral-reef crab. It looks like three buildings, with the one on the right showing window-frames. There's a little tower on the far-left as well. Exploring ancient ruins sounds huge fun to me! A variation on the exploration of shipwrecks from the first game.
I don't know why I don't see anyone talking about the oxygen warning disappearing when the vehicle approaches. Couldn't this be a way to share oxygen or access it at close range ? Or is it for trailer purposes, or I am just missing something ?
I’m seeing a lot of comments discussing the new leviathan being inspired by a Comb Jelly. I did some googling to make sure that the species of Jellyfish I was picturing in my head, was actually a comb jelly. Yes in does in fact look inspired by a comb jelly. They are a species of jellyfish that can reflect RGB light, and are apparently the world’s deadliest jellyfish. They also already move so much like an alien, that it makes sense an alien leviathan would be based off one. Lol
I appreciate the enthusiasm, but I feel your excitement is overriding your logic; so let's temper our expectations, Aci. I don't think the building overhaul is going to be the same as Ark or Ark-clones; at least for exteriors. More likely, it's a far more simple overhaul that just does away with the janky grid system from the first game for a smoother, more dynamic system that allows you to build at whatever angles you need. We can't go assuming the Architects are involved just by one out-of-context screenshot in which the scanner just happened to be green. That could just mean that the scan is complete, or that creature has been scanned before. A whirlpool in a cinematic hype-generation teaser means nothing.
Hey aci for call of the void suggestions I can't use discord, but here's a suggestion:make drooping stingers harvestable so you can put them on your base! Also putting plants in the hydra should affect the oxygen supply.
I love that the shark-like creatures they've shown so far all swim with a side-to-side motion and have eyes on their lower jaw, which is the opposite of OG Subnautica's creatures. It really sells this is a different planet from 4546B, and makes everything feel more realistic and alive.

Ok, I have an idea for the name of that squid leviathan. Hear me out; “The Grabber Leviathan”. Like you said, the tentacles of that thing could be used to grab your vehicle. And mentioning the Crabsquid gave me an Idea. Maybe it could also use its tentacles to move around. Kind of like the sea treaders, or, like you said, the Crabsquid.
I imagine that the squid would have a regal name such as the Queen Leviathan in reference to its crown like crest and possible subordination of other creatures in its biome that fear it. Alternatively, it gives me the vibe of a creature that sits in its nest and has the environment and potential underlings bring it food in return for safety/survival so a name like the Brood Mother Leviathan or simply the Mother Leviathan would be quite ominous.
7:40 to be honest the Kraken leviathan would be a very fitting name(because the design kind of reminds me of the legends of the Kraken. Obviously it is a myth but the way it attacked the survivors and their vehicles reminds me of a kraken attacking a boat. Which is why the Kraken leviathan is a very fitting name and it's certainly fits because it looks like a octopus to me or a squid)
y'know, the tadpole looks a lot like the core of a Prawn Suit huh... Maybe the Frog (thats what im referring to it as) is this game's equivalent of a Prawn? Tadpoles are purely aquatic, and Frogs can be both land-walking and water-swimming, like the two. Also: Tadpoles swim faster than frogs, which gives a reason for the Tadpole to be faster, a reason for you to detach the Tadpole from the Frog.
In the Trailer beginning you can see really big strucures, that dont look player made, they look like huge ruins like roman architecture. It looks so cool!

"tadpoles" evolve. I think this ship is a cockpit that can attach to various other machines. A mech body? A sub? A bus? An excavator? Man i remember watching you when you were still acituanbus, this is the first video ive been recommended of yours in a long time, im happy your channel is doing great!
Am I the only one seeing the underwater ruins in the background? Right before the reef-crab pops up…
Cuz I’m sure wondering about that!
Holy crab! That kraken is ducking scarifying, I'm not even squidding.
How come no one is talking about the ruined building in the back at 0:58
Like I know we had abandoned bases and like ship wreck in the first two games, but this building look ANCIENT, like a lost civilisation ancient…maybe like Atlantis. 🤩
Also I’m so happy we’re getting multiplayer!!! 🤩🥳

I hope we get a huge submarine in Subnautica 2
Fr
He all yea
Hell yea
i hope the game map will be much more deep, thus needing a huge sub to go down to those depths
I think it's going to be called a Whisper Leviathan, as it clearly likes to hang out in the dark where nothing can see it, I thought of whisper because you can't really hear it, and you have such a short notice after you see it, before your dead.
I'd love to see something named after either lovecarft, cuthulu or innsmouth
THIS IS IT. THIS IS THE ONE. Architect Leviathan FTW
Perhaps "Elder Leviathan" or "The Ancient One" ? (Last one is a bit silly, I know.)
@@LocalCANFORpsyop I was thinking earlier about how names for it above one or two words would be really interesting. Elder Leviathan would also be cool considering the history and seniority of these alien races.
@@kaelion7133 that would be a neat direction for the life on this newer planet to go in, all much older, with the older being massive
Good analysis.
i want those camouflaging crabs to be the new area unlocks, like if i come in with a specific tool, one of them wakes up and reveals a cave entrance to a new biome
Gort, the leviathan is Gort, and he is a chill dude.
Thank you for all the information you could share.
I don't understand why people hate below zero, maybe its a bit different game, but also very great
@@lakehope8464 It's the story and buggy gameplay mostly.
Why? Weird story, bad map, Bad creature design
@@zockerking2061 I don't think so. There is maybe more bugs, but for sure, its not a bad map, creatures or story

Idea for the new leviathans name, " the dweller leviathan" because it dwells in the deeps of this new ocean.
This is the one that needs to be pinned
I thought it was just a big warper
@NotControlledByMillipedes this leviathan could be related to the warper.
Mayhaps... "Elder Leviathan"? To lean into the Lovecraftian horror vibe people have wanted?
Cannot wait for the chonky purple squid guy leviathan (tm)
I realized that the “Low Oxygen” light on the helmet of the diver went away when the Tadpole was close to the diver. I’d like to hear your thoughts about that. Maybe it refills oxygen when you’re close to it. I hope it does tho 😅
The way my jaw dropped when they showed the leviathan holy. So hyped!!!
The squid leviathan reminds me alot of the single cell biome. One creature with seemingly infinite access to anywhere in its biome
I hope this takes place after the first game because I want to know how the greater galaxy reacted to Rylie getting home
best guess, natural selection.
my guess about the heart of the sea is that its a giant living organism/leviathan that is keeping the planet alive and you must go deeper to save it.
I really hope this game will be far more horror focused than Bellow Zero. So far it looks like that will be the case.
12:29 You heard it, boys. We're going to the core with this one!
This looks AWESOME, cant wait to play this on my PC with my dad
I'm pretty sure the head of "The Kraken" is based a "Siphonophore" squid or the weird black squid; both have bioluminescence and I think that's going to be terrifying to see in the dark. I really hope they put more critters and squid-like creatures into the game. I really thought the other games were too "big fish" centered so it's nice to see some more diversity and more terrifying creatures
Could be nice twist if this squid will be sentient creature just as sea emperor. But probably not that kind)
Dude great video, this is gonna be fire!!
Finally my parents can’t say no to me getting a next gen Xbox console
I think the giant squid thing will be called the Kraken
12:38 the planet is alive
Some advice for the devs- don't give us teleportation like below zero, but give us more storage on larger subs. The storage size compared to the cyclops did not add up, still took 5-10 trips to transport stuff, cut it down to 2-3 on the biggest vehicle
The leviathan should be called mindflayer, in my opinion.

Oxygen bubble probably
I thought about this, but I'm leaning towards trailer purposes tbh

I’m seeing a lot of comments discussing the new leviathan being inspired by a Comb Jelly. I did some googling to make sure that the species of Jellyfish I was picturing in my head, was actually a comb jelly. Yes in does in fact look inspired by a comb jelly. They are a species of jellyfish that can reflect RGB light, and are apparently the world’s deadliest jellyfish. They also already move so much like an alien, that it makes sense an alien leviathan would be based off one. Lol
i think that leviathan thing will be called "big squid thing with purple head"

Hope I can play it on ps5
probably not in early access but it's 100% coming to Playstation
I really hope so😅😅@@CorelUser

It says no Ps5 because it’s an early access, Xbox is early access friendly but Sony doesn’t
However subnautica 2 will 100% be available on Ps5, even Microsoft releases their game on Ps5, don’t worry, it’s like Satisfactory, the early access took a huge time and right now we have the 1.0 and a Ps5 version has been announced, Subnautica 2 will probably come to ps5 much sooner than satisfactory tho
God I hope so@@CorelUser. I suck playing with a keyboard, and I'm not going to waste my money on a breadbox series x/s.

It looked like the new vehicle had like a sonar because once the big tentacle leviathan came up the screen started to beep red just like the cyclops back in subnautica 1
For the squid i think "the abyssal architeuthis" is a cool name. Or just architeuthis😅
It just looks like an alien Kraken to me, with a bit of crab squid mixed in
Aci u said available on all devices but do u know if it'll be on ps5 day 1 when it launches
i hope it catches the fear of seeing a massive leviathan in the far distance swimming at crazy speeds while you swim away only to jump scare you
Wait new planet ? It only means one think NO CRASHFISH
😭
"Secrets at the heart of the planet" I think towards the end of the storyline there will bw high speed currents that shoot you down to the literal core of the planet where you will spend a long time doing missions and finding more stuff about the architects. But honestly, whatever it actually means will be amazing
Will it be on PS?
It's not confirmed and PS just generally never support early access programmes, but I doubt it'll be left out at releasem
The trailer literally gave me them tingles of when u go under ur covers and it’s cold
Imagen your mom goes into your room while you are playing Subnautica Multiplayer and somebodys pda says „detectting multiple leviathan class lifeforms in the region“
can imagine just swimming in the shallows just for a current to suck you into the deep dark... Gonna be terrifying for new players who wont see it coming
There is no easter bunny, there is no tooth fairy, and there is no story in Subnautica 2
how do you know😭
Ok, I have an idea for the name of that squid leviathan.
All I ask is to bring back the old text to speech voice from Subnautica 1
It was so good
Escpecially: NINE NEW BIOLOGICAL SUBJECTS DESIGNATED. MODE: HUNTING/ANALYSING. SHARING SUBJECTS LOCATIONS WITH OTHER AGENTS.
9:20 definite biblically accurate Angel “Be not afraid” vibes

Mhm
There better be some truly Abyssal diving in this one, cos im Craving it
bro just say you got it from the steam page stop saying devs told you
it's annoying lol
I imagine that the squid would have a regal name such as the Queen Leviathan in reference to its crown like crest and possible subordination of other creatures in its biome that fear it. Alternatively, it gives me the vibe of a creature that sits in its nest and has the environment and potential underlings bring it food in return for safety/survival so a name like the Brood Mother Leviathan or simply the Mother Leviathan would be quite ominous.
nah no way they added the 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 leviathan 💀💀
There seem to be underwater ruins behind the current scene. I don't know exactly how the heart of the planet will work. But we are going DEEP
I totally think this should be one of those projects where they're like 99% transparent on what they're working on so they can get feedback so it can be the best it can possibly be. And grow the hype at the same time
I think the crabes shared in this screenshots are actually juveniles because of their small size and their shell looking animal like not rock like
I wonder if the leviathan they showed in the trailer is the giant kraken like creature that was hinted in subnautica 1
"tadpoles" evolve. I think this ship is a cockpit that can attach to various other machines. A mech body? A sub? A bus? An excavator?
I think the big boy caused the current that pulled the diver into the deep. I think it's actually intelligent and wants to communicate about the secret
I saw what looks like ruins of primitive buildings in the background of some of those pics
